This drama was adapted from a novel maybe you will find more details in the novel. My opinion it's a plus that they don't focus on court politic. The cgi i thought
was done fairly well. I like that the main leads drive the narrative, and everyone else were just background
characters. In some dramas that have many characters the main characters don't get enough focus, i'm glad that is not the case for this drama since i care for only the main leads story.

The main leads relationship i think so to, i like this trope fl being flirtatious and ml being shy and ackward. I agree with you the fight scene between cat lord and rat elder was epic, fl showing her strength and power and using the whip as her weapon was so cool ^^

The negative about him used to be attacking his acting and calling his dramas failure or the occasational rehasing of the old scandal with his ex girlfriend's accusation of cheating and domestic violence. A year ago after his two break out modern dramas with yangzi and seven tan, it changed to dating rumors with seven tans. Most of the pics look like they were ai generated and don't even show them together. These marketing probably generated for clicks intended for their cp fans. Xukai has maintain a clean image all these years and working hard to be acknowledge as a serious actor, he has become more widely know and gaining more popularity in china and internationally, i have my suspicion that the negative rumor and black marketing that was directed at him after moonlit reunion aired was a deliberate attack to hurt his reputation, xukai has slowly gain respect and trust from his fans after many years these attacks are the result of jealousy and envy and meant to cancel him because of his rapid rise in popularity threatening their favorites. Good thing it did not work and he was able to start filming again.

It's a different genre than many other dramas on mdl with great cinematography and striking costumes and makeup. This drama is character centric and following the main leads double identities, fl can shapeshift into a cat and is half demon while ml is a demon hunter who is looking for clue about the death of his parents. Let me know what you think of it ^^

Yes there is a plot, the plot revolve around the main leads identities and their romance. This drama is adapted from a novel and in the novel i heard it doesn't really have a plot but just the main leads romance and their daily lives of catching demons without any conflict but for the drama the writer did add some conflict about their identities and given ml a purpose for coming to chengan. If you don't like this type of story telling then maybe it not meant for you, i like the episodic feel of this drama as i was able to enjoy each ep but i guess it's not meant for everyone no need to force yourself to finish if you think it's boring. The ml personality can be boring for some, he is very focus in his duty and doesn't care about anything beside demon hunting until he met fl. Fl personality is more flamboyant but it's just a facade to do her duty as cat lord.

I was afraid of virus that why i didn't try to watch on that site. I was watching this drama on disney+ because i couldn't watch it on viki either. Let me know if you are able to watch it on viki, if you want to watch on disney+ it will be more expensive than viki.

The black snake demon was only powerful when he was introduced and after that he was just an extra meant for comedic release with his interaction with meisi. This drama has lots of extra characters who were not that important i think the flower demon was showed just to give snake demon an attendant since he was just a background character. I think the villains that are the most memorable is the childhood friend of wz who sacrificed his eye to use magic and that female demon that took human souls and was later killed by mzy. The leader of chengxi palace would've make a good villain if he has live longer since he is show to be smart and has a good motive for his action.

I do agree the ending kind of rush making viewers having to piece some of the scenes together but it can still be understood logically. I wouldn't say hours but maybe one more ep would've make this drama completes, what we got is still good, for those who're watching don't skip the scene after the credit it's a scene of the lead marriage life together ^^

I kind of figure he's a bit different from full demons since he is half human so the spell doesn't work on him. It also interesting to see he doesn't realizes he is half demon until he met his father so could it be his father swipe his memory and kept his demon power in check to protect him against humans who want to harm him? His teacher want to give him the position of leader because of his strong spiritual power but decides against it because he said mzy will leave the sect and doesn't belong in the sect could he have know about mzy being half demon?

Wz is half demon and is human during the day and only has demon power at night. There was that one scene when she went to his work place and he want to test her but he changed his mind and kept her from entering the formation because he didn't want to know. Entering the formation will not hurt her it will just expose her as a demon but that only if she comes at night.

Did he change timeline not really, the only thing he has changed was taking the infant core inside him. Wz has been trying to become full demon for the 18 years she became cat lord, so my guess not having the infant core inside her actually help her become a full demon faster and she doesn't have to go into seclusion for 100 years or change body either since she didn't have to suppress the infant core inside her body.

Mzy was able to free wz by using his blood since only demon lords can open the prison, he inherited his father's power by blood while wz power was transferred to her by the original cat lord.

You're right the ending are rush and we're left to make the connection ourselves, i assume since he was using a machine to travel to the past then that machine also help him to come back to the present.

From my understanding the leads are half demons at the start and full demons toward the end of the drama.

Mzy's mother death wasn't explain but her death was attributed to the unnatural fire that was cause by demons that killed many people at that time.

All the demons were killed by rat demon isn't it, he stage an uprising against cat lord and snake lord. The hui faction were never show, it could be rat demon was acting alone, he was the only one book demon recruited to help him bring back the infant demon.

The last eps were rush and were not explain fully, so we have to piece them together by our own deduction, what is clear is mzy told wz it was the lantern he was holding that made wz traded place with him so his father has planned all along for him to be the one to hold the infant core inside him instead of her.

I know when i searched xukai it's full of negative black marketing and rarely anything positives. You have to search really hard to find anything positive that is not full of falsehood and dating rumors. If you want more worthwhile news of xukai you have to type in xukai news i think it's more balance and not full of lies.

I assume she gotten attacked and was injured by the phantom and was only able to heal her wound after cat lord transfer his power to her to save her life is my guess. Mzy has half demon power from his father but he didn't realizes could be he lost his memory or his father wiped his memory to protect him 🤔

When he went back to the past he took the infant core inside him that why wz didn't have the infant core inside her anymore when he got back to the present. Wz was transfer cat power from mzy's father, mzy has half demon blood from his father from the beginning it could explain why he's so much stronger compare to the leader from chengxi palace who was jealous of his natural talent.
