I don't understand the comparison to the other drama but anyway those women that done bad things and destroy two women for a man deserve whatever they got coming for them, it's those innocent people that were implicated that i care about. Justice is serve more or less. Also you said she didn't listen to his reason what were those reasons because from what i remember he didn't give her a reason and kept secret from her i understand why he has to keep a secret but she didn't and i don't blame her if all of a sudden someone just tell you to not do something you been planning for a long time and said he's protecting that person by the order of the king without explaining why or for how long how would you react. It seem people just want to hate on the fl, how is she endanger other people just because she decides to marry the sml. And i have a different thought about her action because it forces ml to change his plan by asking the king for marriage, it's like killing two birds with one stone, humiliate the xie family and getting a marriage proposal. The ml get to play the knight in shining armor by coming at the exact moment she needed him and in doing so he help her with her revenge of humiliating her family. You said she was humiliated, but she doesn't look that bother by being switch or making the spectacle of refusing to become a concubine because she has nothing to lose since she never care about the family name or her reputation being tarnish for refusing to marry.

No need to make comparison about two totally different dramas. Unless you're telling me they have the same premise of the fl wanting to get revenge on her own family. I'm sure against the current has its own good point but so does spring of the blade, so which dramas are more historically accurate, does the fl in against the current only objective in life is getting revenge. For an fl to be smart and relying only on herself, the writer has to be glorifying her by tearing someone else down isn't it, i saw a review on against the current from avenuex and according to her it's not without flaws same with some viewers who were complaining about the drama give everything nice to the fl by tearing down other female characters. This drama has its own flaws but it's consistent with the time, look at the fl's grandmother in order to hold on to power she has to trade her own daughter for a male heir so you tell me in that world they're living how could a girl going against her whole family and people who hold power in court will have to do to survive and getting revenge against these powerful people. If she has just accept her fate and be just like a normal girl and use her brain instead to climb the social ladder i'm sure with her intellect she could make something of herself after all not only is she good in medicine, she also good in managing the estate, as well as knowing how to run a shop instead she is bend on revenge and bringing down the xie's family. How are you going to compare two fls from two different dramas with such different choices in life.

The rating for this drama was messed with from the 1st ep so it has nothing to do with new dramas. The last 5 eps were rated really low even before most viewers finish watching, hence don't believe in the rating on mdl if you're looking for what drama to watch lmao.

That's not entirely true, fl from the beginning was using trick and scheme because she has no power of her own, she was using the ml because he has rank and power to help with her revenge, just like ml was using her for his own objective. They were both using each other. I don't see xie qing ru as a villain but just a spoil brat and are you sure she was devoted to her mother because i can only remember her obsession with the sml and she could become good or bad dependent on him. And because of his influence and how he treat her in their marriage, she didn't turn out like her mother whom once also love her husband until he turn her love into hatred because he was unfaithful.

True she miscalculated that 1st madam want her death but she wasn't surprise about the bride switch that why she could stay calm and didn't get mad when it happens. I said she didn't have anything to lose is because as the youngest daughter of the xie's family she is last in rank so she didn't have any power of her own, so in order to get revenge she has to go the round about way scheming her way into the xie's family, pretending to be the obedient daughter, bidding her time to get her revenge until she thought she lost her chance. And what's wrong with being strong and relying on others, the ml outrank her, she has no fighting skill so she has to use what is available. If the ml and fl were equal and she still rely on him then i would've say something but in this drama and this period the female have very little power of her own unless she borrow from others. That is not weakness but knowing when to use her trump card. And what has ml sacrifices, he is close to the king so he can get away with almost anything. He made a promise to her they will get revenge together as children when they meet again, but after they meet again he told her he is protecting their common enemy by the king's order and keeping secret
from her. I don't blame her for questioning his choice when he refuses to tell her anything about his plan beside to stop her revenge on her father since he's protecting him. Unlike him she has no power of her own so she has to rely on others to help with her revenge, but he also needs her for his revenge all the same, they both use each other for their revenge.

He was the one who offer marriage, he knew she wanted revenge and agree to help her. Since he couldn't keep his promise and got fool into marrying someone else, how is this her fault. She even warns him his mother wants another daughter in law, the blame shouldn't fall on her just because he marry someone he didn't love and why is that even a punishment, he marry someone who loves him since childhood, much better than what fl could give him since she's only using him to get revenge on the xie's family.

Fl has nothing to lose that why she went along with the sml's proposal. Her ultimate goal was to humiliate the xie's family. She wasn't suprised by 1st madam's scheme so that tells me she anticipate that she would meddle in her wedding. You said she sacrifice her happiness, but if she didn't gamble then would ml has seek the king's approval to grant their marriage. She even warn the sml that his mother doesn't want her as her daughter in law, ultimately she wasn't the fool he was, she got exactly what she wanted, the xie's family got exposed for their scheme in fooling the sml into marrying a different daughter. And she got the ml to come offer marriage, you said it's ridiculous but the end result show she got exactly what she wanted so maybe those people who looking down on her shouldn't be underestimating her lmao. If a girl after finding out she was switch as a bride does not panic but grin instead people shouldn't be so quick to judge on this fl 😁

The last 5 eps fill in lots of details about the parents generation. It's not bad at all, don't know why some people are being melodramatic about it, you can say drama has a proper ending if you decide to finish the drama ^^

It's good some details were missing about ml's background but it will not affect your enjoyment if you like revenge and family conflicts.

Because she found out about his identity so she became a threat to him, and also he was being blackmail by 1st madam brother, he was the one that push him to murder her to keep his secret hidden. But what it comes down to is greed he was afraid his identity will be expose.

I really love the sceneries behind their back during this scene i'm glad they shoot real sceneries for most of the outdoor scenes and not a fake screen.

How many times have you watch this drama to remember all yanrui's expressions. Have to say this is one of the most fun character xukai has play and i'm totally enjoying his portrayal of this character in the beginning when he was still faking being a corrupt official ❤️

Just want to share my thought about the 2nd sister and sml marriage, someone suggest to me sml could've gotten a concubine instead of accepting her as his wife. Here is what i think about if he did get a concubine, the 2nd sister could turn out just as bad as her mother if he did get a concubine the in-fighting in that house and from genetic she inherited both her parents traits she can be good or bad dependent on him, and he might turn out to be the second xie shu, remember xie shu became bad due to circumstance not because he was inherently evil to begin with. He was shenrun's father sworn brother and they both came up with the plans to help the people together until he was corrupted by madam xie and also his own greed. So be glad because of his influence she turn out to be a devoted wife and didn't turn into a vengeful wife like how her mother became.

Are we talking about the ranking of all the players in this season? How did you find out he got 2nd place, i was watching the final ep and i only know bibi finish in 1st place 😅

We can't agree on what is historically accurate but there're things that can always be agree on about this era is the marriage is decided by the parents and that's the same for other historical dramas not just this one. It's not selective but a pattern you see in most historical dramas that you can agree on 😂

She doesn't have power of her own so she does needs his help, but he also needs her help for his revenge so they both depend on each other. The production said in this drama they're each other blade and scaber, it symbolic to their situation being dependent on each other to carry out their revenge.
