Just want to share my thought about the 2nd sister and sml marriage, someone suggest to me sml could've gotten a concubine instead of accepting her as his wife. Here is what i think about if he did get a concubine, the 2nd sister could turn out just as bad as her mother if he did get a concubine the in-fighting in that house and from genetic she inherited both her parents traits she can be good or bad dependent on him, and he might turn out to be the second xie shu, remember xie shu became bad due to circumstance not because he was inherently evil to begin with. He was shenrun's father sworn brother and they both came up with the plans to help the people together until he was corrupted by madam xie and also his own greed. So be glad because of his influence she turn out to be a devoted wife and didn't turn into a vengeful wife like how her mother became.

Are we talking about the ranking of all the players in this season? How did you find out he got 2nd place, i was watching the final ep and i only know bibi finish in 1st place 😅

We can't agree on what is historically accurate but there're things that can always be agree on about this era is the marriage is decided by the parents and that's the same for other historical dramas not just this one. It's not selective but a pattern you see in most historical dramas that you can agree on 😂

She doesn't have power of her own so she does needs his help, but he also needs her help for his revenge so they both depend on each other. The production said in this drama they're each other blade and scaber, it symbolic to their situation being dependent on each other to carry out their revenge.

In those days a child's marriage is not just involve yourself but your family, it's normal for the parents to arrange your marriage and you have no say in the matter according to their station they marry for family alliance unless you're very lucky and your parents approve your marriage to the person you love. In this situation his mother went behind his back and approve a different daughter in law because she has a better family background. He has always been a spoil rich kid who thinks he could get everything he wants even marrying the girl he choose, it was only after his marriage he realizes he didn't have a choice in the matter, same with 1st sister who was force to marry an old man her family chose for her lucky for her she elope and escape the arrange marriage. Not everyone is as lucky and get to marry for love, the 2nd sister's mother outplay the sml because she knew who truly has the power to arrange his marriage in that family. Fl knew it too that why she warns him his mother wants a different daughter in law, he was powerless to stop a wedding that was arrange by his mother, and in that time a marriage is binding if there is no justify cause for a divorce, he can't do anything about it, so his father advice is to help him see the whole picture rather than wallowing in self pity, he has two choices either he made his marriage a failure by making the both of them miserable or he accept the bride his mother chose for him and make it work. Why do people trying to apply their modern thinking into a historical drama lmao, back then parents have lots of influence on their children unlike now when children have free will to marry whomever they like.

If you watch drama with court politic and family conflict before then you won't be confuse about these actors acting the way they do because it all come down to power and greed and the ones who don't know these politic and power game will be the ones being taken advantage of so they all learn to wear a mask. In the beginning both ml and fl were also wearing a mask and testing each other, fl was always on guard around ml even after he help her because she doesn't trust him until later on when she realizes she was wrong about him.

That what i don't understand so people are more upset about the sml marrying a woman who loves him just because he was force into it rather than be happy the main leads got their happily ever after because if he marry the fl then the main leads won't be together and he won't necessarily be in a happy marriage either.

While watching this, there was some complaints in the beginning about it not having enough revenge, but after it getting to the revenge then the complaints of not enough romance. Interestingly the ml and fl revenge originates from the xie family, both ml and fl witness their love ones kill and knew who were responsible from the beginning, the final revenge was on the mastermind behind it all. I agree with you about side characters not getting much development plus yanrui/shenrun's back story was abandon altogether probably because they ran out of money to shoot more eps if the rumor about low funding is true. This drama would benefit with more eps to give a complete arc to yanrui/shenrun but even without it xukai still slay this character.

What is the unlogical closing are we talking about here, if we're talking about the 2nd sister marriage, true it starts out as an arrange marriage that her mother secure for her and he was force into it, but it comes to reason he will eventually relents after seeing how good she is to him. I can understand this ending for these two because he has always been nice to her, it's the same kind of marriage he would've if he marry the fl since she has no love for him and he told her eventually she will come to accept him and love him. We don't know how long she has to wait for him to accept her after seeing how devoted she was to him, it's a good ending for the both of them, i'm glad she change for the better after marriage. It appears many holding a grudge against her and wanting this marriage to fail before it even begins 😂

He has always been good looking even in his early dramas. Story of yanxi palace, the legend or arsenal military academy, etc. The only drama he didn't look his best would be dance of the sky empire because of the bad hair.

The rating for this drama was mess with from the beginning by haters, i was checking the rating for the last 5 eps and i just laugh at how low the rating were and that was before most viewers finished the drama beside those who watch express. Don't bother trying to explain it i was waiting for when the rating will go lower than 8, it definitely deserve a higher rating than 8, the ending is not bad it explains everything clearly, the only thing missing is their romance was cut short after they got together, those who only watching for romance will probably hate it lucky me i don't watch dramas for only romance but plot and characters and it did a good job fleshing out the major characters in this drama. I think the story telling is a bit weird too because we got very little background of the main leads when they were children, and it could be due to having lesser eps, but whatever xukai and zhouye were able to bring their characters to life and make us care about them.

Wow the premise is kind of interesting. Can't wait to see xukai and his teammates in another variety show ^^

He has more experience as an actor so yes his acting has improve but he has always been a good actor to me. Story of yanxi palace xukai was a support there, it was his breakout drama, he only get main roles after that drama. If you like political intriques and harem because the king has many wives and concubines.

What are you talking about. The last few eps were great, If it's not your thing fine but don't just tell new watcher to skip a drama ending because the main plot is in those eps no wonder you're confuse. And the aura/vibe are not missing in the leads stop projecting. Don't just badmouth one drama just to promote another is it a race or something lmao 😅

Have you seen eight hundred, he got praise so much in that drama. So no modern dramas are not his weakness.
