I got vip to watch this, but there still ad at the beginning of the ep lol 😅

That why i'm saying it looks fake. Even if drama has a bad ending, not many has watch express so would not know how it end, but the drama went from 8.4 to 8.1 in a short time that's a big drop, they were just waiting for the right timing to rate down this drama. You don't see other dramas with bad ending has such a massive drop in rating either when many has not finish the drama. This drama also has haters from day 1 that drop the rating down to 7.8 on day 1 so it take a longer time for rating to go up.

Glad to hear you like the beginning because i heard lots of those who were criticizing it because drama wasn't entirely about revenge at the beginning. I'm watching to the mid point and i'm glad to see their revenge has begun and i suppose those are into romance will be criticizing it for not having enough romance. Drama can't satisfy everyone. I was thinking how it will end, but seeing so many hating the ending i have to check to see for myself, because cdramas rarely ended well.

Feel bad for 1st sister, now her engagement is in trouble, why did the pei family renege on the engagement, does it has something to do with the father. How is that turn into 1st sister fault and why is she being punish. How ridiculous.

Ep 19 is the climax, i'm loving the reveal of 1st madam cruelty against 2nd madam's son, now everyone at the funeral know what she did and how she switch letters, even if she trying to explain it away, it's not easy to hide what she did is not intentional even her husband and his mother were looking at her differently. Happy to see the younger brother step up and confront 1st madam and her evil intention toward his older brother. Qy's revenge on the 1st madam is so satisfying, having her scheme reveal in front of so many people. And then shenrun walk in and own the stage, finally he could reveal his identity and get revenge for his entire family and clear his father's name from charges of corruption.

From the reaction of those officials who were looking for qy's father help when hearing of shenrun's returns, he is not innocent in the crime and might also be involve in the deaths of shenrun's family. Unlike them, he's not worry, what gives him such confident? Is it because he knew he going to get awarded a title? And who is the new woman that was introduce in this ep, she seem to be related to the dead lady pei, how does she know so much about shenrun? She seems to have powerful connection for those men to be begging for her help.

Agree i'm surprise no one is talking about it. He looks like a pretty boy in some angle when he wear those hair accessories ^^

I assume granny chen is fl's grandmother on her mother's side. Once her mother died she went to live with her. No granny chen is not a noblewoman, her mother was a commoner when she met her dad, but once she entered that household as his concubine she must've learn etiquette and taught her daughter. I assume she learn medicine from granny because many food can be use for medicinal purposes so learning to make those snacks came from her experience helping her granny at the snack shop. And she could also taught herself through books. For your last question i don't understand what you mean why couldn't she figure out her identity. I might be missing some details so i have to watch more eps to get the picture.

Whatever they said about lacking funds in this drama, they didn't lack in the outfits department. I'm loving all xukai's outfits in this drama, even the one i haven't seen that are share in photos, he cut an imposing figure. This drama really know how to dress him up like they know he will look good in them i can't wait to see him in later eps in those outfits ^^

I saw on youtube it was share xukai character in spring of the blade has reach #1 in popularity on both iqyi and youku. Congrats xukai and yanrui/shenrun 🎉❤️🍰 I'm surprised it wasn't share here.

After ep 18 my feeling for this drama is i like it, it's a good drama to spend time on watching. It's will not be for everyone but it's good for those who like watching family conflict, revenge and a childhood love. There're lots of characters i don't care for in this drama but they still very good in acting their parts. For those on the fence, watch a fews eps to see if it's something you like. What i like is there is no sfl to ruin the mains relationship is it too early to say and the sml is likable, don't know if he will be annoying later on but for now he didn't push her so that's a plus. Too bad for him his family is planning his wedding to the annoying sister instead of the one he likes, but that is normal in that period many in their station don't marry for love, they marry for family alliance or to advance themselves similar to fl's father many of his marriages are not for love but because he gain something from his wives and their families, only those truly lucky can marry for love, hoping 1st sister will get her happy ending.

In ep 18 qy finally found out about yr identity as shenrun, but she already suspected him before because of his care for her. He has risk his life to save her many times, and he made her feel like they're the same person, that means she has special feeling for shenrun even if she only acknowledge her feeling for him as a friend and confidant. The feeling she has for yr/shenrun has turn into romantic love because she's an adult and not a child anymore so everytime yr show his care for her she would be reminded of shenrun that means she recognizes him even before she fond out about his identity. In the letter shenrun wrote to her he already knew of her identity way before, but he didn't want to acknowledge it because they both have their own agenda and revenge. This explains why he willing to help her in her revenge and clear her mother's name since he knew qy's mother too.

So shenrun situation is similar to qy he wants to clear his father name and get revenge for his family's murders. What crime was shenrun's father accused of and why are they killed. How many are responsible? Is his revenge on that one guy or there're more to it. And how is qy's mother dead relate to shenrun's family?

I feel it's not just watchers who are rating it, but also haters. Only those who watched express would know the last few eps, but the drama already went down in rating even before many viewers have complete it. That makes me suspect the rating is not organic and has been mess with. I expect rating to go down by 1 point or so base on seeing other dramas page with bad ending or have disappoint ending, but this is a bit much it would mean a large portion of viewers have finish the drama on the 1st day when drama is only finish for those who bought express.

Now that qy found out about 1st madam what is she going to do next in her revenge? Why 1st madam would go that far in dealing with 2nd madam, she already lost her position and standing, i think because the 1st son has strong will so she can't control him, the 2nd son is weak so is she planning to control him is that why she wants the 1st son dead. What a cruel woman.

I'm not surprise 1st madam was reveal to be the mastermind behind what happens 19 years ago, she's very good at acting the proper wife, but there's just something about her i thought was really fake. I didn't understand why she wants to switch letters, but after hearing what happens to the 1st son of second madam i finally understand this woman can be so cruel, he wasn't her son by blood but he's still family, but she would use him in this way to hurt his mother. What exactly was written in that letter i wonder. After finding out her son's death 2nd madam finally break when she didn't after all she been through being whips and humiliated. I didn't think i would feel for 2nd madam but i can tell she truly love her sons. Qy's father and first madam deserve each other, they're both snakes. Now let see if the grandma also has secret of her own. What a family.

Ep 17 we got a little background on yr's brother so he was bury under his mother's body that why he was able to survive the massacre of his whole family. Yr thought his brother was killed along with his whole family until he found him later. Wow that kind of past would mess anyone up. Him wanting to kill qy at first i thought it was because he afraid she will distract his brother from their revenge, but turns out it's more about his worry that she will be use against yr and will become his weakness. I can see that this is his genuine care for his brother and not just only about wanting revenge. Hopefully he will find happiness and find someone who will love and heal him, someone similar to qy according to yr she made him feel alive ❤️

I didn't skip i just focus on the dialogues. I always like when they translate the songs so viewers can understand the meaning but i can understand why in dramas the songs are left untranslated. It's a good thing we can tell the dialogues when people are speaking otherwise it would be very confusing.

From my understanding it looks just like one, not saying it's, although it mirror the one of the king because the guy is being call master by his wives, he's sitting at the top and center like he was sitting on a throne with his wives/concubines and his children as his subjects.

I find it funny how yr and qy's father both are using a fan, they look different but you can see the way they're holding it by closing and opening it make me think it's a way of exerting/flexing power or staying in control. It's the same with the way they're both eyeing each other and smile in that scene like they're trying to measure each other 😁

I feel like this drama kind of has the atmosphere of a harem drama with the father acting like the king having that many wives and concubines, and the concubines fighting for his affection, that's why 5th concubine got poison because she was pregnant with his child and qy's mother got frame because she was favor. And all these women are playing pretend they're getting along but they're hiding behind a mask of propriety and respetability. Good things not everyone in that xie's family are bad, there is still the 1st sister and elder brother who are decent people, the youngest brother is not bright but not a bad person. The only one of them all i can't stand is the 2nd sister, the 3rd sister i can understand how losing her mother could've turn her bitter. From hearing about what happens to the 2nd sister later on, i hope she will change for the better because right now she's the most annoying of them all.
