Although people complain the lack of intimacy, I think that's where it stands out as a rare gem. It shows a brilliant & intense chemistry & love without the necessity to emphasize on intimacies.

I have the exact same sentiments. And I realized this fact about people really contradictory in their demands & expectations right when TLB was airing. I also see still now how everyone complains (but swoons) for a childish, immature, soft FLs x Strong ML but complains more when they're given a growing, mature, tough FL x Strong ML on equal footing & synchronous personalities.

I also haven't really seen a GeSun dynamic in any series yet, so I hold it really precious & high.

I've been labeling An Le Zhuan as a superior manifestation of Romeo x Juliet in an epic historical setting at its grandest glory but I'm intrigued to read that the Director says so as well. According to him:

"An Le Zhuan is an oriental version of Romeo & Juliet and it contains not only the affectionate love and protection intertwined in their fate, but also the love for the country, not bending the will."

I know very well that you don't understand English completely & you don't know the story at all, so of course you wouldn't understand the joke made out of that specific scene as GIF. The background was blurred because its one of the BIGGEST spoiler in the whole story, but it seemed as if they were kissing in the background & Han Ye got mad but what happened in the real scene is far more painful, as stated in my spoiler, & Crown Prince Han Ye was in pain, with red eyes, trying to maintain his composure by restraining his emotions at the loss of a person who was dear to Di Ziyuan.
(Since, I'm also blurring my words & not mentioning "who" was lost, I think there's no need for marking it as a spoiler)

Also, there's no use showing me irrelevant infos, I know ins & outs of the whole novel (I read it multiple times) & also the possible changes made to the drama.

The male lead is much more complex than a "pretty boy sim-y" hehe. He's also involved in doing badass shit but they are Romeo & Juliet in an oriental version so OFC a "must-watch".
