The production budget was considerably big for The Long Ballad. The producer Yan Bei has been preparing for 5years for producing TLB, cultivating the whole grasslands in the studio. The music department comprises of foreign musicians who incorporated modern music with ancient. The artwork that you see as replacements for war scenes are done by professional comic artist hired for the very reason. It is to pay homage to the manhua and also to go about a different and unique approach.

Many, who love arts and animation, appreciated this approach, while many, criticized this replacement deeming this approach as climax-ruining. But, everything in the drama, specially the spectacular action choreography far outweighed the replacements of war scenes with artworks, also saved real animals from dying in war. This is a refreshing and different approach from usual CGI.

Also, as the whole story, that is the journey of Li Changge, is portrayed as a compilation of book, this approach is more suitable, in my opinion.

Yang Yang's 3rd gaming drama to be exact.
And I don't necessarily agree with you on the part that drama is always going to trump novel. Its actually the other way round in most cases.
But YAMG drama, no doubt will be AMAZING, given the genre, casting and setting.

I'm in. Just in time for a re-watch. I'm eager to watch each episode and brainstorm the focal point of the episode to christen it with a significant name *_*

She is really powerful in variety shows. She carried a huge Czech man of 192cm height and muscular built. She arm wrestled a female security guard and defeated her. She fought fiercely in keep running shocking the men haha. She carried huge garbage bags after picking trash from riverside in Go Fighting when the men were all whining haha. I think, nobody needed to teach her to be manly. She is like a tomboy, yet she can be the most gorgeous woman in the red carpet.

That sitting position is the most comfortable sitting style of Dilraba, if you've seen her in variety shows.

Wu Lei is a very manly. No wonder he brought out manliest character A'Sun to life so marvelously.

I'm so glad you aren't doing your PhD in plastic surgery. You would've ruined naturally exquisite facial features with these failed attempts at imposing symmetry ( which already exists perfectly). Human faces aren't geometrical shapes in a 2D paper, imposing symmetry potentially ruins the genuine beauty some people may have. Well, since you're doing PhD in immunology, why not concentrate on immune systems, instead of face shaming Dilraba?

She has played the most convincing male disguise out of all the cross dressing instances I've seen. Kudos to her excellent acting.
The reason people are complaining about that might be because of their biased view of how she's so beautiful to be a guy. But she has managed to tone that beauty down to a tough masculine character.

In the trailer, the dialogues aren't dubbed. I'm not sure if it'll be dubbed. I've seen korean subtitles though. Also, I've come across Thai dubs of TLB clips, so Korean dubbing is very much possible.

That's exactly what The Long Ballad is. A ballad that takes you on an exploration of thoughts. If one can't, they've just missed the ride.

That hug was a perfection of their emotional conflict and acknowledgement. My heart broke for Changge.
