This was great, I read a lot about forced kisses and stuff but I it was only once or twice and it wasn't like the FL was against it or anything. All in all a good watch with sweet Happy Ending!
This show despite the many plot holes is still good. The ML has an unquenchable thirst to reach the top after the death of his father and angry at the world for having lived a life in poverty , he sets out to climb the mountain by making big leaps. The climb changed his character and each decision got him closer to falling of the mountain. The ending made sense, he returned to the place his father was resting as he could no longer continue living with the guilt of having made the same decision that got his father killed. The ML had several chances to stop his climb and rest and lookback at the beautiful natural landscape but he failed to lookback as such he didn't realize where he went wrong. As for the FL many have commented that she has no expression, I disagree her character was not an emotional one she has to show a strong powerful face and never to show her weakness as everyone around her is looking to pounce on her, even the brother she was close to betrayed her. Imagine living like that, it's hard. When she had to show emotion you could see them in her eyes, which showed whether she was angry, sad or happy. Throughout the show I never saw her smile, laugh, or giggle. I pitied her as in the end she was left alone.

Well explained! I understand from the SFL perspective as she would be saving the city and killed by ML in the original story who would have been married to each other. It makes sense that the FL rash decision did have an impact on SFL character.

Is this worth watching tho? I felt bad for the guard in MHH, he was going to be a manager of a shop and lost his life and madam yang never knew about his feelings.
Yes, and the forced marriage wife(princes) makes an alliance with the ML to teach the FL to be better at household and business and make her his wife and in return she gets to divorce and live her own life.
The leads get married in the beginning as part of the selection process, ML liked fl when they had an interaction and he chose her to be his wife. However she got married as a Concubine but the whole show is her getting to learn many different things and gradually falling in love with the ML.
I really held back from watching this as I figured it would be the same story arc as most romance drama follow. I will say this when I first saw that FL stepmom, in an instant I knew she was sinister. I had a flashback of story of minglan where her dad's concubine kills her mother. The way the story started it was a DELIGHT i truly felt engaged and could not stop SMILING, having each episode filled with romance with so many couples the ML' secretary and his best friend, FL's best friend and their work boss/partner were all great. The only thing I disliked was the lack of KARMA, the stepmom should have suffered more and why did the writer give the FL dad's memory loss (dementia) he should not be blessed with having no memories of how he treated his own daughter like garbage and killing his own wife indirectly ( first wife). I wanted to see him beg for forgiveness and repent for the rest of his life and also transfer the entire company to her as compensation.
Below I posted my frustration with the ending. However, ALL in all the drama was a fun watch. Lusi just like her character in love like the galaxy was amazing. Not a huge fan of her but I admire her acting skills.
I am so frustrated with that one ending comment, why does the second princess s still get to be the city owner. Hasn't she shown enough violence and cruelty to be executed? If it weren't for the ML, the FL would have been dead earlier by the arrow she shot towards her. So many times she tried to kill her, but no karma for her. What kind of messed up story is this? We are told that what goes around comes around and that good deed is not lost but returned a thousand times.
Why is the drama called "Romance between *tiger* and *rose*"?
I believe in 2 or 3 episode from the last, they have a conversation on how the ML is a Tiger and she is the Thorn (per the subtitle) so I guess by thorn they meant a rose.
The drama really is all about the getting up and moving forward when faced with adversity. The Fl really displayed unorthodox behavior in the way she steered the family while facing so many hurdles. I smiled for a long time in each episodes and couldn't stop watching as it kept getting better. Sure there is a villain(s) as a story must but in this drama it's not your typical villain who wants to destroy/murder FL/ML, they are just there to build the story it didn't provoke me at all. The reason I watched was for the business theme, she truly is a great businesswoman, from rags to riches and repeat to ultimate riches. I hate writing reviews, if you look at my watched list out of the 250+ dramas I have written only few. I write this because I was moved by it, Lastly I will say this I was disappointed with death of one of the Hua sisters but I can understand the circumstance that caused it. Overall it great, even the BGM and OST are superb!
I can't describe how good this even if I were to write a thousand words. Just give it a shot. Chemistry is 10, ending is 10, OST is 10, story is 9 and second couple is also 10.
The ML fights to take back the throne and save his father from the traitor who usurped the throne. Along the journey he meets the FL and their chemistry is just damn good. The ML is surrounded by an amazing group of friends most who sacrifice themselves for him showing utmost loyalty and friendship.
