Jamie was never an important character since day one, Its rather you guys had expectations.
Why not? She's one of the 3 kids.
If we had expectations it's because the show built it up.
I think people have every right to be annoyed if the show did a bait and switch.

Exactly. I can't believe I'm still following it tbh...
I'm hanging around for NGM and the crazy sci-fi plot.

The show relies too much on filler to move things along. What's the point of the rain scenes? Just get her to the island already. Quit stalling for time. Honestly this could easily have been a 12 episode drama at the rate things are going.

I'm on episode 4 and I have a couple of questions. First, how much romance does it have? And, will Gong Hye Won…
The romance is not front and centre and so far kept to the minimum. Thankfully. If the show hadn't force fed us with it, I could have blissfully gave my own interpretation to it.
I don't think it's helped much by the actress' rather limited range in facial expressions.

He doesn't kill just because of love and jealousy. There are other, more important reasons.

Gosh, why does Cdrama always have such weird cliffhanger ending?!
Yeah, okay. So it's not just me.

This show relies quite often on the incompetence and the lack of discretion of various characters.

Chemistry of the leads? Do you mean in terms of visually? Or acting wise?
Both, I think.

This was stellar (albeit a little slow) untill the hints of romance started to become obvious. From there, nothing…
I heard it was pre-produced. It would have to be with all the sfx required.
But I know what you're saying that's why I wonder if they ran out of money or if there was some kind of external interference.

A low budget Scooby Doo style web drama set during the Republican era. Cops and coroner dig into mysteries featuring possible connections with the paranormal.
Fun, watchable series. Reminds me of My Roommate is a Detective but without the ridiculous amounts of bickering that marked Roommate.

I am not someone who has read the webtoon or intends to. I've enjoyed the drama entirely on its own merits.
For me this is clearly one of the year's best because despite the horror tag, it is such a deeply moving, philosophically rich drama. The character development even in such a short drama with a large cast is far better than most other longer K dramas for me.

If you can get past the relentless monsterization and gore of the early episodes, this show will really make you think about what you believe and why you believe what you believe. Good and evil... that sort of stuff. The big questions of life.

A well-made, carefully thought out drama from start to finish. No doubt it took a leaf or two out of other similar time slip shows but did it's own thing with it. Kudos to the writer, director, cast and crew for a fun ride. For keeping to the rules. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Loved the finale... all's well with the world. No more frenetic rushing around to save lives. Everyone living out their lives surrounded by the people they love.

Not surprised that this show has topped the charts here. It's easily one of the year's best.

The writing and directing is a work of art. In fact, compared to some ridiculously hyped dramas, this can even be said to be a work of genius. So much care, so much attention paid to details. Every line of dialogue, every scene shot has meaning that reverberates right through the drama.

Just because a drama markets itself as a crime romance doesn't follow that the audiences have to like or accept what they see. Intent is one thing, execution is another.

This drama has many issues and they all stem from a patchy script. That's been my issue with it from Day 1. The romance is symptomatic of a bigger problem and if the rest of the show were well done, I don't think people would care too much one way or another but because the execution lacks finesse, all the cracks show up much more easily. When I am told that there's supposed to be romance in a show, in order to invest in it, the show has to show me why I should buy into it, not just tell me that these two people like each other. That isn't enough for me. But there's also nothing in the show that says to me that romance is necessary in this. It does nothing to enhance the storyline so far. Plus the fact that Hye-won is Mad Scientist Dr Gong's daughter... are we heading for makjang territory? Are we watching Romeo and Juliet? Because if we are, I'm bailing.

The show has good ideas... the White Night Village Foundation is a good idea and that's what I'm turning up for. I want crazy sci-fi. I've been waiting for it since the first episode. And Namgoong Min always brings his A game. But I feel that the good ideas here are still looking for a script that will pull them together rather than stall for time.

I wonder why the writer had to include romance in this show. Without it, the show could have picked up pace quickly…
I'm of that view as well.

Episode 7 has to be the most blatant filler episode I've seen in dramaland lately, with everything of importance…
It's funny how we have different views on this. LOL. But I thought the first 5 episodes were really subpar and that the show is only just gradually picking up the pace now that we're getting into the meat of White Night Foundation.

The romance is still meh as far as I'm concerned. But I don't care about it.

But this show isn't meant to follow in the footsteps of the Reply series at all. It's more like Prison Playbook.…
I frankly don't see the Reply 88 connection except in some oblique way. To me this is a drama about elite doctors in a hospital who happen to be friends.
