Ever since the drama introduced us of Gyeo Wool's crush on Jung Won, there has been something about their relationship…
No rocks from me. ;) I think one needs to remember that they work together so she does know him on some level. At least professionally. He is one of her supervisors. We don't see all of their work interactions on camera. It's true that they don't spend a lot of time talking personal stuff but you can learn a lot about a person by the way they work as well. But there are reasons why the show chooses to show her POV mainly in this dynamic.
As for the comment that it is one-sided. I certainly think there's enough there from Episode 2 onwards to think that there is something going on with Jeong-won with regard to Dr Long Winter. He does treat her differently which is interesting. The show is at pains to show that. We even know that he goes out with other female staff but prevaricated about his plans when she asked him out. I will also add that his wanting to be a priest is a large factor as to why the dynamic is what it is.
I myself believe that the writer is taking an entirely different approach with them particularly because he thinks he is headed for the priesthood.
In my opinion Dr. Jang going to die in the season final from man who hit him own sons so in next season Dr. Ahn…
That may be but why her? There must be a reason why she "has to" die? She's a really popular character so that seems to me unlikely. It's also not that kind of show.
The fact that the drama only had 12 episodes made a huge difference in terms of how disciplined the plotting and pacing were. For a show of this nature, it was the best possible ending we could have gotten. I loved how much HJ grew as a detective in this drama. He went from being a second-rate detective to a more resolute, wiser investigator with GH's help and influence. The two of them became a really great team.
I too wanted more overt romance in this drama but we did get some nice UST between the leads and an ending that suggests future possibilities.
All credit to the cast and crew for a great production. Everything about it sings out quality. I enjoyed every single moment of this relentless roller coaster ride.
The girl that has a crush on Jung Won is my fav side-character. I love how she doesn't care about what people…
I agree. She's mine too. My favourite scene of the drama of her is when she lowers herself to pick off the maggots from the patient's leg. I also love that quirky side of her... not being at all concerned what others think of her. Even though she has a crush on JW, she's not doing insane things to get his attention. These supporting characters have been the greatest surprise to me. I want to root for every single one of them.
This show certainly showed a lot of promise and the male trio is easily the best part of the show, as everyone agrees. The biggest problem of the show is not the romance or the crushes etc, it's the amateurish writing. Half the time or more, I feel this is for the kids. There are flashes of brilliance no doubt. Occasionally I can even cope with the humour. But as a detective/investigative show, it's a disappointment. It's a shame really because the casting is great and so are the performances. I think the complaints about the women in this show really come from a poor use of them. Do'ara is not too bad after they become friends but the clumsy way women are used as a shoe-in for romance is a sign of inconsistent writing. Not sure if I want to continue really.
This has been one of my favorite shows so far. The Heroine is not dumb - unbelievably determined at times but…
I've watched just about every detective C drama this past few months, and I still think this one is the best. With all its flaws, it's still the most consistently good. The romance is better integrated than just about all the others I've seen. It's got the best balance and I don't find my intelligence being insulted routinely.
Not really.... I'm not sure what ep you are on...but they don't show any progression until the end. I'm on ep…
I'm in the 20s right now and it's pretty obvious that they're aiming for a romance. She's like a little boy picking fights and bullying him because she likes him. Even Old Bai calls him Son-in-law.
Thank goodness that the bickering between YN and LY is largely in a tolerable place in more recent episodes. The cases are not exactly mind boggling stuff but at least the show doesn't drag them out. I guess they are really going hammer and tongs hard for the romance.
This show was written for kids right? How can Sui Zhou not know that Tang Fan was putting on a show. That was so obvious. He of all people should know this better than anyone. Sheesh.
Honestly... as much as I enjoy this drama for the male leads, I really don't think I'm in the target demographic.…
That may be but the English title is the one that international fans look at. It's the one the showrunners came up with. It is still a form of marketing.

But they shouldn't call it The Sleuth of MIng Dynasty if the sleuthing takes a back seat to everything else. :D
