To be honest I love the second FL but the second couple other than the steamy scenes, I don’t find their story that interesting. Both the main leads individually and as a couple is much more interesting for me.
i've been really enjoying this drama but honestly i was quite bothered watching ep 6? it was pretty disturbing…
Yea same. I hope the 2nd couple don’t end up having sex and it’s just a make out. Atleast she initiated it herself, would have been even worse if she didn’t. In the webtoon she regrets the sex but more so because she was too drunk to enjoy it lol.
Also KTM leaving Hari in the rain was such an unnecessary scene - Atleast if he dropped her off in the hotel and be like I’ll be back, that could also work. I blame the writers for it, there are other ways to show his trauma.
Preview ep 5 trailer If you haven't seen it SPOILER alert:So why is he mad at the fact that she’s not who she…
He probably thought he was trying to just make an excuse to get out of it when she was refusing and said she has her reasons. He probably didn’t think the ‘Shin Geum Hee’ personality is also fake and on top of all that, she is an employee at his company!
This drama is soo good to watch after a stressful day at work! I love how they’ve done the cliches in this drama - it’s so deliberate and that’s why it’s so funny and enjoyable!
Don't count her crush out yet, they definitely had something between them, I wouldn't be surprised if he comes…
I totally agree with you. I prefer the drama over the webtoon. I’m happy they changed it and i would welcome it if they continue changing some of the things. Th FL being ‘fearful’ and ‘insecure’ in the webtoon is what I didn’t like. And also in the drama, Hari’s character is so much better - she seems strong and vulnerable at the same time and also super funny rather than a cute damsel type character. Even though I liked KTM in the webtoon, the way they portrayed KTM in the drama has its positives. The drama is more relatable to me even with it’s numerous cliches. It’s super funny goofy and cliches done right! And no way do I think KTM is a rebound. The way Hari gets over her 7 year old crush actually makes more sense to me - him getting back with his ex gf was what sort of ‘woke her’. Sometimes we need something significant to happen to make us realise things and it could only be a single event. It’s also like when smokers go cold Turkey to quit smoking - can’t be done gradually. Her getting over him means she can truly fall in love with ML for who he is without harbouring feelings for someone else while ‘hanging out’ with him. She doesn’t need to compare her feelings to figure out who she loves more or truly loves. And I really hope that’s how they show it without bringing her feelings back for the friend cuz that’s a bit pathetic. Also they literally mention it in the drama - KTM says the lady beside them was saying how he seemed like a replacement for Hari’s friend which makes it even more funny. It’s like hey I don’t wanna be your rebound! All in all, even with all the goofiness i feel like the characters in the drama have more substance and maturity which the webtoon lacked.
Have you notice that till the end she still didn't know that she had Ha Ram's eyes 🤡
I was wondering that too. She does say that everything is back to where it belongs so implies that she knows but don’t know how though. Also don’t think HaRam knows either that she had his eyes all along?
This is why I’m not a fan of historical fantasy kdramas or just modern fantasy dramas anymore … for some reason…
In terms of storyline, it is unique compared to other fantasy and/or historical dramas I’ve watched with the painting and astrology element but as you said the screenwriters let it down. I love the actors, cinematography and osts so much that it will still be a memorable drama for me but it’s a bummer that the writers did not do it justice.
Planned to binge this when it was completed but I am confused. How can the rating (8.4) be so high but the comments…
This drama is not perfect but definitely worth watching. The storyline had the potential to be outstanding but the writers let it down a little bit. Also I think it’s better binge watched. People who have binge watched it seem to have liked it better.
yes but didnt we like spend 10 episodes watching shenanigans then suddenly everything started to happen and got…
The last few episodes aren’t bad in my opinion. Definitely had the potential to be better but I personally really like this drama. The storyline, characters, cinematography (cgi sucks though), and ost all are amazing in my opinion. It could have been perfect but the writers let it down a little bit.
I've seen many comments saying this show starts going downhill after a while. From which episode exactly? I'm…
I don’t think it went downhill. For me it’s still a great drama, I love the storyline, actors, cinematography and the osts are amazing. I do think though it would have been better with more episodes.
update: episode 8 and I still love this show!! 9.5 stars so far
I think after episode 6 it was a bit up and down but I won’t say completely downhill. I actually thought 9 and 10 was nice, and the pace picked back up from 13.
Ok, so did Ha Ram's STAB WOUND heal instantaneously, or what? Stabbed in the back with a divine sword, almost…
From what I understood, when using the tiger sword, you have to have the intention to kill/harm the person (used for supernatural entities) and also the sword draws its energy from the person doing the stabbing so that’s why he is also meant to die. In this case, the Prince’s intention was conflicted because he didn’t want to harm HaRam, he wanted to stop MaWang. Also MaWang is too strong to be harmed by the tiger sword and Haram is also wearing the divine ring so all together it ended up just sealing MaWang back into Haram. It’s really complicated and it is a bit of a pain that some of these are not spelled out in the drama. That’s why I want to actually read the book to understand the full extent of the story.
Thats not it… the main problem that most feel is the lack of chemistry between the leads, their romance story…
Fair enough, we all connect with things differently. I think the romance here is very subtle and restraint yet has an intensity, I find it quite beautiful. I think they are like twin flames but I do think we would have felt it more strongly if there were more scenes of them together. The romance element is not actually the centre point of the drama contrary to what a lot of us expected it to be. I don’t mind some of the slower episodes too much but I think if we had atleast 20 episodes, the slower episodes wouldn’t have been much of an issue for many. I really want to read the book though just to see how everything is portrayed there.
Thats not it… the main problem that most feel is the lack of chemistry between the leads, their romance story…
There’s a heavy fantasy element to this story so some of the things are not necessarily realistic. The fact that they are instantly in love and goes from 0 to 100 willing to sacrifice for each other may seem unnatural from a real life point of view but in this case they have been fated at birth by a supernatural being. They are meant to find each other and have a common destiny. Shamsin actually says right at the beginning that she will destine a partner for Chungi and that’s when Haram was born if I remember correctly. I personally didn’t find it weird even though i agree, I definitely would have liked to have seen more romantic scenes between them! For me the chemistry is really good, I loved that kissing scene in ep 6 and I was smiling throughout the cute ‘date’ scenes in ep 9 and 10. Also the childhood connection - the one day they spent together was a turning point in their lives. Right after that both of their lives changed completely, Haram losing his eyes, being possessed by MaWang and losing his family and Chungi regaining her eyesight and becoming a painter. So that last memory of them together is important to them both. I found this childhood connection to be a lot more potent than some irrelevant ones we see in many dramas.
Also KTM leaving Hari in the rain was such an unnecessary scene - Atleast if he dropped her off in the hotel and be like I’ll be back, that could also work. I blame the writers for it, there are other ways to show his trauma.
