Celibate?? Lol she just doesn't' want to get married. Sorry, but that doesn't mean celibate. This is one of the most feminist endings to a KDrama I've ever seen. Both women prioritizing themselves rather then their significant others or adult family members.

the ending scene has got to be the cutest thing I've ever watched
The ending scene bumped up my rating a full half point. So romantic. <3

Title Mr. Plankton
The second half was much better than the first half but wow those first four episodes were rough. I wish they had spent way more time developing the side characters - especially Bong Suk - and far less time with the whole kidnapping / gangsters thing.

"... a demon just wanted a pretty boy for a pet." Neither a bad thing, nor out of character for a demon.
If the show treated it as a demon takes a boy pet - that'd be hella fun. But that's not at all how the show treated it.
On The Judge from Hell Nov 6, 2024
Feel like I watched a different show than everyone else. I thought this was awful. Absolutely no consistency in the world-building (how many SURPRISE THEY'RE SUPERNATURAL! moments did we really need??), the romance felt like a demon just wanted a pretty boy for a pet, the coincidence of the bad guys being who they were was ridiculous, and both ML and FL were completely one note. I don't feel like I got to know either one of them and I certainly don't feel like they got to know each other. I can't quite wrap my head around everyone thinking this was actually good...

Where did you watch the movie?
The book, like the series, is split into four parts. The movie is just the first part, with a few elements from later brought forward.

looks poignant but it seemed only focused on the time he's with his bff girl
It is just the first part of the book but they expand both her as a character and his first serious romantic relationship. And there are a few other elements from later in the book they bring forward. I thought it was really well done.

Where did you watch the movie?
In the theater. There's a Korean theater chain in LA that had it.
On Love in the Big City Oct 29, 2024
Personally, I think this could have benefitted from a professional screenwriter. Narrative storytelling is a different craft entirely and this felt like they were simply filming the book rather than adapting that book for the screen. I found the movie to be a far more successful and poignant adaptation. I hope more people have access to it in the future.

I thought this was hella fun. Super twisty, dark, and poignant. And to everyone criticizing the FL - she's literally a child with zero power who can't trust anyone. What exactly did you expect her to do in any of these situations?
On Cinderella at 2 AM Sep 29, 2024
This was exceptionally redundant and devoid of conflict. One conversation with the ML's mom and the entire issue was solved. Not to mention the insufferable voice over that spelled out every single emotion the FL was having. And there was SO much time spent with the ridiculous coworkers who really didn't need to be there in the first place. I wish that time had been spent developing the friendship between FL and her sister-in-law.

Perfect ending is FL must die in the end.Don't try do fairy tales story like FL will survive in the end.
lol it's not that kind of show at all...

I have loved Shin Hyun Bin in everything I've seen her in. She played my favorite character on Hospital Playlist and she was sooo fun as the villain in Reflection of You. BUT her soft-spoken delivery here is driving me crazy. It feels like an affectation. I guess she's a great actress because I've never seen her do anything like this before but I am suffering.

It's on Hulu in The US. Most Disney+ shows are.

No, we don't have the full story behind it yet.Waiting for more episodes to fill in the backstory is the best…
It doesn't matter what the specifics are. It's a fact that the daughter has been supporting the household. Nothing we learn later will change that.
On Romance in the House Aug 12, 2024
I'm surprised at the lack of sympathy for the daughter. She IS the head of the household - not the mom. The mom referred to her as such herself. She's supporting all three of them on her salary and she's sacrificing her health to do so. Ofc she'd be mad at her father who made that necessary in the first place. And the show needs somewhere to go. There'd be no story if everyone welcomed him back with open arms...

People who had no interest in this show watching just because of the hype then bashing it because it's not the kind of show they'd be interested in in the first place. Spare me your 'unique' perspective. If you weren't interested before the hype it's probably not for you.

8 episodes is crazy. can korea stop with this american format?
It's not an "American" format. It's the Netflix format.
