It wasn't a what-if or a dream. It was their next lives. They have to wait for the next lives to be together again.
But it wasn't his body. For him to just permanently take over the existence of someone else who had a life, a career, a family, a whole word - it wouldn't have really been right or made sense.
I loved the ending. Bittersweet. They can't be together in this life but they'll be together in their next life without the baggage of their tragic pasts. Fit the story perfectly.
Has anyone actually read it and can explain who the romance is between? Because the vibe I get from the description is that the main character is an adult man in the body of a teenager...?
