I think he was trying to put up a "strong front" for her and to make that agreement for her benefit, so he didn't appear to be as upset.
When it was burned, it must have given him a little hope, and that is why he asked her about giving her heart to him again. But then that kind of crashed down and she seemed to not be too disturbed about them truly parting ways. I think it really scared him to see her walking away from him, his desire to be near her, and his regret and feelings of love probably overwhelmed him at that moment. He also had just seen her evil illusion version "kill" some people that are closest to him, had been willing to die to save her and had just Kissed that "version" of her not long before, so...and that Queen's spirit basically said that they were a special couple or pair together, and then they were parting? Yeah, lots of swelling emotions, I imagine.

I have to DISAGREE. Tian Yao was a bit immature, but he was Fine. "Uncalled for", that's ridiculous. 😤Are we even discussing the same part? I am not talking about when TY told him to "not make excuses". You know BXS called him an "evil Dragon", "heartless" and more. I think BXS could take a little teasing FINALLY in return. He even acted as if he owned YanHui or was in control of her a few times, Not to mention the times he lies and goes behind her back to do things she does not want him to do. Often BXS does things for his Own benefit, and is manipulative.
Also I wasn't always happy with the old man, but Yan Hui did NOT tell him that the book was needed to save her life, for a while, until after she had been snappy and rude a couple of times with the old man.
This isn't really a big deal though, so why don't we just "agree to disagree". I am probably a little extra sensitive because I really need to get some sleep. Take care!
That's not what love is at all. What you described is just delusion and obessesion. What TY did to YH literally…
But she DID NOT need to immediately save MS. Yes, he was a general, but he was fine in the beginning. She just selfishly, greedily and wickedly, came up with the plan to seduce him into falling in love with her, deceive Tian Yao into thinking she loved him, and at their wedding, she stabbed, dismembered and sealed him away, to always be weak, and to always use him (his power). And then slaughtered most of his "clan".
SY did all this just to use his scales etc to build an armor for the guy she was infatuated with. Then she wanted his heart scale for more protection and power etc.
It was her selfishness and obsession that made MS suicidal and needing help, MUCH later on.
Maybe because yanhui never met her parents and not sure abt the reason why she was abandoned so it didn't hurt…

And to literally be dismembered and to have most of those who looked to you for protection, were Killed because of your "weakness" in being deceived, by someone you loved and wanted to spend forever with. Poor Tian Yao. His "spirit"(?) Literally was trapped inside a tree! And so much more. 🚨 You know, one of the worst things is, it caused or influenced Tian Yao to not Trust HIMSELF or to doubt his judgment of his own heart as well. That is a different trust issue too. He has "grown" a lot.🥰

If you save the person who would ruin the "world", then you basically CAN save at least some of the world as well. At least that's the way you can look at it.

YH wasn't being mature most of the time she was interacting with that old guy. I found her kind of annoying during that time. Also, BXS completely deserved Tian Yao baiting him a bit to get jealous, with all the harsh words and rumbing things with YH, into TY face, even when he was trying to help.
