If Gujian hadn't given her up and pushed her towards Chengyin to begin with, the whole story may not have happened.…
I had to take break every few days before in watching this πŸ₯² I cried so much throughout the series hahaha I couldn't even go out because of red eyes.

This is the only tragic series that I really love. It didn't felt draggy, the pacing is good too. Though I just wish they gave the main couple more screentime and not the concubine lol. I feel bad for all of them, this is only drama where you can't fully hate & love the characters.

XF being the favorite daughter of her father (and the only daughter of both her country's king and queen, the…
This is so true. He's really a complex character. I hated him somehow for how she was treated by him, but ofc I can't blame him too, he didn't know any better.

And he sees having XF as his wife is equal to his ambition of having the throne. He doesn't know what love is, and what healthy marriage is, until XF became his soft spot.

I love him for the things he did to protect her, so they can be happily married once he's done dealing with his enemies & stabilized his power. And all of that went downhill πŸ˜πŸ’” It's so painful for both of them. He can't let go & he rather stay with her & even if she can kill him out of hatred. While for XF it's no difference, whether she stay or runaway from him, she's still in so much pain. πŸ’”πŸ˜ I kept crying when her memories came back, she's really tired of everything. I really thought she might go insane if she didn't jump on the river, her trauma is unexplainable. It's really a blessing in disguise that they both have amnesia at some point for the short lived romance πŸ₯² I prefer them not having their memories come back, I couldn't stand how painful it is for them πŸ’”

The show is fine, but the FL's character is just too dumb that it's frustrating. Even if she lost her memories…
I've seen a lot of historical cdramas & XF isn't dumb like the usual FL. XF is very observant & she's open-minded. People like you shouldn't watch dramas like this cause you're obviously a hater of FL and crazy CXX stan only🀣

She literally grew up being unrestrained so ofc she's impatient when she can't do her stuffs immediately. She wasn't raise to become a political tool & she's still very young when she lost her memories lol. She also don't have political ambitions, she was not prepared for that type of life too. And you must be too dumb to not noticed in the drama where she said she originally wanted to marry Gu Jian or someone like Gu Jian so she can travel & live freely🧠

I never want to watch them when they β€œhave a favored concubine” that isn’t the FL. Harems are creepy to…
I finished watching it. The favored concubine is actually being used by him to protect the FL & the concubine couldn't do harm to her because the ML is very manipulative

Title Good Bye, My Princess Spoiler
what's so heartbreaking πŸ’” about the drama? do the main leads end up together? or is it the other way around?
I can spoil you & tell you the whole summary if you want me to. But if you still plan on watching this, this is all what I can say.

The leads really love each other & they both went through hell together. ML is not a good man, he's very manipulative & cold blooded, but he only have a soft spot for FL & getting her is also his ambition. FL grew up in a loving family, she's highly spoiled, unrestrained & somehow innocent of the outside world but she isn't stupid. She's assertive & very observant.

FL is supposed to only marry the crown prince, ML did a lot to win against his brothers and he became a crown prince so they got married.

It's still fun to watch cause the ML is really crazy. Their marriage wasn't easy 'cause he's a crown prince, so his mom which is the Empress & her clan wants to used him as their puppet. He don't want the FL to be used against him so he can't be a lovely dovey with her as he's being watched everytime (fighting became their love language lol) & to protect her from his scheming mom, to stabilize his power, he got a concubine from the rival clan of his maternal family to dote on public only, his empress mom blames her for being a bad influence to him & he let's her become a target of his mother's schemes repeatedly lol ( this is my favorite part of series hahaha since the concubine is also delulu & dreaming of becoming his only lawful wife, she also plotting against FL so ML doesn't really care about her as long as she don't die)

They did end up together but their marriage life is hard. Also the heartbreaking part is how their love for each other developed. It's really conflicted, & ML did an unforgivable sin & FL blames herself a lot for his sin. ML only thought of using the FL at first to become crown prince, but he truly fell in love with her instead so it's impossible for him to let her go. FL loves him a lot too but she's an opposite of him so no matter how big her love is, she's still in so much pain. πŸ’”

I wasn't ready for heartache 🀧😭 I read spoilers ahead but it didn't help I'm still in so much pain πŸ’”

It doesn't feel draggy like the other historical cdramas I've watch, I never really think that there's a solution to their conflict & the conflict is unfixable even with their love alone!

Li Chengyin is a very complex ML for me. He's definitely selfish & ambitious and at the same time he only have soft spot for Xiaofeng. I hated his methods a lot but it's somehow effective, he put all the schemes that Xiaofeng might went through to his ugly concubine. I'm still sad on how they ended up but I understand Xiaofeng, she went through so much & she isn't as cold blooded as her husband, she would definitely live in guilt. He killed her family, even if she loves him the most, it's impossible for her to live like a normal wife unless she gets amnesia again.

If Gujian hadn't given her up and pushed her towards Chengyin to begin with, the whole story may not have happened.…
Exactly! This is why I don't root for him! None of them deserve Xiaofeng! They all fooled & used her for their own gains! Xiaofeng just wanted to live freely & find a good husband and these two guys took advantage of her way too much!!!

I hate Gu Jian more than Li Chengyin. He's the biggest hypocrite! He pushed her to Chengyin then suddenly he wants her to runaway??? The way he condemned Chengyin, as if he wasn't involved in the tragedy! He's just another selfish man after Li Chengyin. He only wanted her to runaway only not because he cares about her happiness , it's just that he can't have her & it hurts his ego that Xiaofeng & Chengyin really fell in love!

Although they were both forced to kill her family, the difference is that he's intention have always been questionable. I still believe that even if he didn't introduced her to him, they were bound to get married anyway & they might even had better relationship if Gu Jian didn't introduced him in that manner πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

This is the only historical drama that I've seen with the ugliest concubines 🀣 Especially the Consort Zhao Sese & Gao Ruyi! They don't look like noble ladies! They look more like whores & suitable to play low rank courtesans yet they are described as beauties???! It would be more convincing if they casted a better looking villain who is on par with A'Du's looks, or someone like Li Changle (The Princess Weiyoung) to make it more believable! 🀣 Especially Zhao Sese's face looks so sour & bitter every single time! Way too many screentime for an eyesore like her!!! She's too ugly to play a despicable character & the actress itself can't act lol 🀣 So many better actress out there yet they chose this ugly one!

Thanks for this explanation πŸ˜πŸ’— I just finished TLI and I'm still confused like why Lady Hong Chou only prefers Fire Phoenix Queen for Yuan Qi, and why Heavenly Empress is gone and only came back when Feng Yin returned etc. It's somehow confusing to me and I just found it's connected to Ancient Love Poetry and I'm planning to watch it now.

I truly agree about Gu Jin/Yuan Qi, I hated his decisions but I can't blame and truly hate him. It's not his fault that he's unaware of what Yin went through before he accidentally killed her. No matter how much he tried to protect her, it's like their destiny to share their sufferings together. Yin being tortured by Hua Shu while he's literally fighting with demons and trying to stop the war. He protect everyone he loves but he ended up losing them both, although they all returned after thousand of years.

I truly understand how painful it is for him, he's really kind hearted and full of gratitude. Him and Yin kinda have karmic relationship and they go through the same pain. Gu Jin's kindness has always been abused by Hua Shu and her peacockshit clan, and Yin suffered because she's weak and perceived as lowly beast from the same abuser of Gu Jin and Lady Hong Chou.

I'm literally crying for the scenes where his love thread was removed along with his memory of loving Yin, even without he's still falling in love with her and can't stop thinking about her, and also the moment where his seniors tried to marry him off to Hua Shu, he suddenly started thinking about Yin will be mad at him, and the moment when he suddenly felt threatened by Hong Yi's presence who always trying to take Yin away 😭 that's such a wake up call for him to finally realize he doesn't really like Hua Shu.

I have 2nd lead syndrome somehow but I will always be on Gu Jin/Yuan Qi's side and he deserves Yin/Feng Yin the most! His love for her is unmatched, he literally gave her his own spirit just to make sure she will survived her tribulation.

Wang Anyu gave Yuan Qi justice, he has the melancholic eyes, although I wanted to see him portray stronger emotions but it's still acceptable, cause he changed after he accidentally destroyed Feng Yin's habitat and and when he had Yin, he became more mature. And for the years he suffered looking for her traces, man really looked depress and no emotions until they meet again 😭

This could be perfect only if....

- They made lesser screen time on HFX evil step mom and brother. They should have just finished those two before ep 20 cause nothing important, especially about the step mom, she's clearly just a basic gold digging b*** who thinks she's all that.

- They spent less episodes and screen time for Hua Chunran character. She's nothing but a delusional clown, she don't even deserve to be called 2nd to Feng Xiyun, she can't even rule on her own and needed marriage alliance lol she thinks she's the best and cunning enough, she's just a backstabing bratty princess who's out of reality. She's such an annoying filler character, they introduced her as if she was very important, I thought she would be like Feng Qiwu but she wasn't and nothing interesting in her character, she's nothing but a delusional.

- They showed more of Bai Fengxi story like they did to Hei Fengxi. I'm so interested to see what she is as Princess Xiyun and not the heroine Bai Fengxi. Her character is very interesting knowing that she isn't a damsel in distress type, and even just a little throwback on how she met Hei Fengxi when he started martial arts. We all know Hei Fengxi already liked her in episode 1, so a little flashback on their past encounters will do.

- I hate the palace scheming and HFX stupidass dad, I really wish they finished it early on. He acts all mighty only to listen to his b*** and let her mistreat his own sons. It was such a such a satisfying moment when Feng Ju real talk him. He's bad but he really tells the truth, their dad is an ass.

- I wish they showed us hope in the end that somehow HFX was able to live more than 10 years and they reversed his condition 😭 I wanted to see them living a happy life, travelling together or at least have kids. They deserve all the happiness in the world, my man went through so much! He deserves to live without hiding anymore 😭

Now that I finished this I need to find something to fill the huge void it left πŸ₯ΉπŸ˜

I can't help but become emotional over their relationship, the way they love, trust and respect each other, and the fact that they would die for each other πŸ˜πŸ’— They don't have perfect life and a lot of people don't want them together, and I'm really in love with Hei Fengxi putting those people in their places. I love that from episode1 it's hinted that Hei Fengxi is in love with Bai Fengxi, and they become inseparable.

I just wish that they finish the HFX step mom and family issue right away and showed us more of BFX story and their life after the war. πŸ₯Ή I really cried when he gave his life span for her, I think I'm gonna need to read the novel, I'm still in pain that in the end they were like just living peacefully and waiting for HFX to die, I was hoping to see them having kids 😭

I like the story but it really bothers me that they all see the female lead as the most gorgeous person in the…
I agree with you, but her character being that beautiful is okay cause she somehow have a classic beautiful face. And I think the era of this drama is older from the era of Princess Weiyoung. And also given the release date, Princess Weiyoung is around 2016 so the production and story is way better than this one.

I genuinely don't understand the people saying Ruby Lin looks too old. The MLs imo look older than her? SFL does…
Ruby Lin is definitely look matured but the 2nd fl is weird, idk if she's dubbed? But her voice doesn't fit her face. She looks too old to have that very childish sound. Ruby Lin also have childish voice in this drama but it somehow fits her cause she looks bubbly, unlike like the 2nd fl she's very weird.

I love how it all started, it looks very promising, giving the plot is female centered but I dropped it in the middle lol! The story became more disgusting in each episodes πŸ€’πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’« I can handle the cringe stuffs since it's pretty old drama but tf there's just so many weird stuffs happening in the story aside from the father and son love triangle and FL looks like the dead mom/wife 🀒 and also the dubbing of the villain girls like Fuya's cousin is so disgusting 🀒 the voices doesn't fit their faces, they had childlike voices when the actresses doesn't have youthfulness in them. It gets so hard to watch so I dropped it and I read spoilers on how it goes before it ended yeahhhh it's very worth dropping

Same thoughts πŸ˜πŸ’— I was rooting for him a lot. But I truly understand that she can't love him back cause she still have PTSD in what Yan Lin did to her in the past as revenge.

Also Xie Wei's chemistry with her is just really irresistible πŸ€£πŸ’— Xuening doesn't fear anyone except Xie Wei and their a perfect match cause they have so much similarities, both are master manipulators and morally grey.

How is the romance? When did leads got together? When misunderstanding solved? Annoying second leads? I need spoiler…
Romance is really romancing ✌️ Top tier chemistry and also really slow burn, the way their relationship developed just really made sense cause they were both busy in plotting revenge.

There's already romance between the FL & ML in the mid of series but their relationship was only confirmed later on.

Second leads are all good, no annoying characters and all of them are mostly well written characters.

The ML & FL were both complex characters and kinda red flags 🚩 --- both are manipulative and full of schemes, which made this series interesting and got me watch it for 1 1/2 day πŸ˜πŸ’— I was surprised it's 38 episodes and I finished it so fast lol 😭

Is ML also reincarnated?
I think he did, there's an episode where Xuening got framed up for being involved in rebels, and Zhang Zhe went there to help her clear her name. Xie Wei got the news and immediately went into beast mode. Although that's the first meeting of Xuening & Zhang Zhe in 2nd life. So if Xie Wei didn't reincarnated, he wouldn't be immediately jealous, just means he have clue on Zhang Zhe & Xuening's relationship in the past.

Title Story of Kunning Palace Spoiler
I hv just completed watching.. one thing i wanna say is(absolutely my opinion , i may be wrong), i never thought…
Xuening had PTSD because of what he did to her as revenge in the past. But of course she acknowledge her sins and she wanted to be a better person, and help Yan Lin instead of leaving him in his darkest moments.

Yeah I agree that he surely have an evil side of him, given his obsession for Xuening in both life times. But I wouldn't say that's his true self or true face at all, humans aren't 1 dimensional beings. I'm not justifying what he did to her in the past, cause it's beyond evil. It's a deep wound to his ego that Xuening get on with Shen Jie when his family lost their authority + Xuening didn't really made it clear to him in past life that she only sees him as friend.

Also of course he's generally good to her cause he's still in courtship with her, so he wouldn't do anything that would upset her. But still I love his development later on, he acknowledged why Xuening can't love him romantically, and the fact that he didn't change after knowing that his most beloved girl is in love with his beloved cousin and teacher.

And I do really think that if Xuening really talked to him about her real feelings for him in the past, Yan Lin wouldn't really become evil even if she marries different guy. Yan Lin is very soft hearted towards her & simp, also he's very understanding to her, given his reaction when he found out that Xuening & Xie Wei's relationship is more than just teacher and student.

If there is one person that will understand Xuening aside from Xie Wei, that would be Yan Lin since they grew up together.
