In the conversation TLC was having he said something about a note being at Puzhu's place, that Puzhu was not gullible and him to have become friends with her for a reason. The operative word being "become'' in the translation for me, meaning he knew early on to make the decision to be friends and also not being gullible..

Honestly the Miss Zhong 'love' line is the one I would red flag in the storytelling in the conversation of feminism, they shouldn't do this. Her character is fine without the clear one sided crush. Having someone like that pine for ML and probably get jealous later on is a disservice to her character. It's so unnecessary.
