Quick summary to the answer is- she tells someone something to cover up her identity from being exposed, that person nearly kills Ji bozai with that information. Ji bozai knows only she knows that information. So there will be some sort of misunderstanding. As she didn’t know that the person would try to kill him with that information.

If you view from JBZ's view, not knowing who she is, he is using her 100% to the point of him risking her life, that's why he feels guilty. Its not a matter of she volunteered or on not, she was hoping he would say he would go first, she actually says it we hear her inner thoughts. So JBZ knowing this girl has no power should have gone first because there could have been a trap right in first or second step he couldn't protect her from. He fed her the food in today's episode she really didn't want to. Him not eating food outside or drinking is not comedy, it's because it can be poisoned and everyone wants what they think he has, so they can poison the food. That's why he refused her wine initially because he doesn't trust her. She got hurt by herself but again that is because of her skill level, if she had been the ordinary girl he thinks she is, she could have actually died, he feels that guilt because he knows he is putting her life in danger for his gain.

The food could be poisonous and he is ok with him feeding it to her. There was also a time she had to drink on his behalf. When they went to steal the portrait she went ahead of him. Not going to list everything. They are using each other. I really love their dynamic. Happy watching!

I think Ming Yi is getting a lot of unnecessary heat. Both leads are using each other, only difference Ming Yi knows she is being used, but Ji Bozai doesn't know yet he is being used. He knows he is using Ming Yi, and doesn't know how to tell her. hence "I have friend" conversation lol.. Both are not being genuine with each other.
