Fang Lei is explosive, wouldn't work. In XY's industry most of them lie about family background, so there would be more ladies up and coming who actually want that family backing he offers. That would be a proper win win situation. He is treating XY like a contract wife right now, no affection, sleeping separate sides so he can do a life long or agree a term. Since its a contract with each one to gain something its more secure. Right now his heading to a divorce so his strategy was definitely not the right one for his needs.

I don’t think he was looking for love when she came into his life. She just happened to be looking for an interview and he was on the hunt for someone , like Fang Lei explained. If he had been honest she would not have been with him, as that’s not the relationship XY wants. So their purposes were not in alignment. With a contract he would have someone in alignment. Yes now they have connection, but if he would have been honest at the beginning she would have said no.

He could have been honest with her, not for her on good but for his, so he gets someone who can fulfill the engagements he wants, that parties etc... Having dirt on a woman to act the part of a loving wife is not a good strategy. If he believed her to be such a fraud he could have honestly asked her. It’s only because she has married a high profile person otherwise she would have been fine. The high profile person all these people wanting to milk her come out of the woodworks, they would have done if she wasn’t married to someone high profile. It’s what people lie about to get the job. Nobody watching TV would have known that she lied about her parents. The company does not do background check. The recruiter said to lie about her background because most companies do not check. If she hadn’t met ML and hadn’t had a high profile wedding she would have been fine. Both are red flags but their red flagging is different lol. You can't deny ML's one is not driven from a good place. FL lied about her parents but didn't try to control him she didn't play any games for him to fall for her, from her end it was natural. ML has known FL's lies from the very beginning all she wanted was an interview and ML had already researched her and decided that was going to be his wife. He knows the lies worry her but he discourages her from confessing and adds gifts to make her feel worse, that is psychological torture. FL does not play mean games with him like that. It's a different type of red flag.
