yeah, I shouldn’t have put the officially divorces her in the first sentence, sorry guys! I later mentioned that he uses her “death” as a way to later marry Xiaoyao.

Can anyone explain why Jing kept FFYY alive? I am trying to believe that Jing is worthy of XY, but considering…
He officially divorced her. There’s a scene where he leaves her locked away in a place by herself (33:17, Ep 9). Jing is very good, he will forgive a lot. He is incredibly kind-hearted. As for defenses, I will assume that he had them, but that royal power overpowered his. He told everyone that FFYY died so he could be a widow, and then he’d mourn for a while before marrying Xiaoyao. I think CX did know, but he isn’t the culprit, at least in terms of the leaked script. As for Jing being able to protect Xiaoyao, I’m banking on the world being more peaceful after everything is over. He won’t have to do much in terms of protection, and they’ll be able to have a peaceful life. No one will bother them.

They really went soft on CX. He should’ve been the crazy antihero villain lead we deserved.
literally. I was hoping for Li Chengyin levels of insanity, and I get this?!

I kept yelling, “finish the sentence!”
I’m with you. These kind of stories are also few and far between. I feel everything the characters are feeling and they’re so fleshy.
