They say this is Shogun meets Squid Game but I disagree. It's Harakiri meets Battle Royale.
Only those who know nothing but "Shogun" and "The Squid Game" say this. And they expertly spread their ignorance. And flocks of "clever" people follow suit. People have absolutely no desire to educate themselves.
You are absolutely right, this is a Battle Royale in a historical setting.
The series was worth the wait. The harsh world of samurai. The Meiji era in all its glory and without embellishment. The series is not recommended for fans of cotton candy and sterile wipes. . . I'm very glad that my favorite characters survive until the finale. If the series is successful, we can expect four seasons. For those unfamiliar, the series is based on a novel series consisting of four books.

Below is just my fangirling . . If it's Yamada Yuki or Yamazaki Kento or Makenyu lol In Japan, anything is possible. Makenyu's brother has already starred in this genre. Even top-tier idols aren't averse to participating. In fact, this year, one of them even on two projects. . . Now the coming year is even more exciting. What surprises will the new year hold? BL list 2026 must be interesting.

p.s: I don't count Machida Keita because this is not his first job in bl.
Awww that's cute!! I didn't read the manga and I thought seme-uke was the other way round for the whole time lol.
Actually, that's true. This manga isn't really about sex. And about art and passion. Perhaps they are for both sides. But there was one moment in the manga that very subtly points out their positions.
The chemistry is simply incredible! The actors are perfect for their characters. I'm rewatching it too and can't stop. This trailer and poster were worth the long wait! It's so amazing that it doesn't even need promotion. A trailer like this is bringing a lot of people here. I think this film will be the most successful of all Japanese films in this genre. . . There's only a month left. But it will feel like an eternity!

If, of course, someone has such a desire.
In the manga, everything is much more complicated. I think in the film, everything will be greatly simplified.
I really want to see it!
