Got more grey hair
Till episode 14 it was oke.I started watching this show because of the high rating and the plot looked promising.
But…
Dang what a bad story.
She kept on the lying part for too long. She should’ve divorced him at start of episode 14.
She even obeyed his orders even after he said mean things and still slept in the same bed?!
Any other women should’ve kept their dignity, packed their stuff and leave.
Another big disappointment is that he never figured out her past, or even put any effort in it.
This were big disappointments.
Bad and unrealistic story.

Finally a series with an healthy couple
Finally a series with an healthy couple, without to much drama around them. Not a break up and back together, back and forth situations. No third parties that want them breaking up.No sudden amnesia etc.
Just a beautiful slow building romance 🥰
I can highly recommend this series and will definitely rewatch it.
I hope someday there will also be a WEBTOON about this drama.
Just to relive this story.

What a lovely story
This review DON’T contain spoilers. So to begin with:: THIS DRAMA IS WORTH EVERY SECOND!
It hit you everywhere.
I needed a bucket and lot of tissues.
Sooo heartwarming ❤️
The drama brings you close to each character.
You really get a kind of bonding and it hurts when a character need to say good bye.
Some story’s are really realistic.
As example: a family that won’t miss you, someone without any family or friends, real events that happens in the past ( the disaster of Sampoong building, illegal adoptions etc.)
What I liked the most are the actors and their acting skills.
They brought every character alive.
Their acting where AMAZING.
In a second you get from a smile on your face to tears or anger.
Amazing job.
And the soundtracks, love it~ 🥰
The music drag you along to the whole drama.
What I also love the most is this was a different kind of k-drama.
This time no big love triangle, product promotions, drama’s, all the usual stuff in k-drama’s.
A ML with ASS, a FL that is a good supporting friend, crazy, really kind, tuff uncle that will take your heart.
I call it a golden duo.
We need more of this kind of K-Drama.
That take you to a different perspective 🥰
1000/10

Sometimes there is no reason
This movie portrays how people judge by looks.Like how every bullying victim is portrayed or treated.
The only person who didn’t (couldn’t) judge someone by their looks became the source of courage and strength for a victim.
A son who tries to uncover the truth about his mothers passing.
And the Ugly truth at the end.
That, often, there is no real reason.
It’s the personal taste of how society often describes a person “beautiful” or “ugly”.
And the one who couldn’t judge by looks judged by his assumptions.
And this movie proofs only God sees us how we are, from our inside, our hearts. ♥️
This movie has a good plot that hooks you till the very end.
Yeon Sang-ho Did a very good job on that.
The actors did their work so well that you completely empathize with the victim. You also want to know the truth about what really happened.
Park Jeong-min played both parts so well, I was really impressed by his acting.
I hope to see more great work of him.
The other reviewer said that the “why” was misplaced. If you watched till the end you know what happened and WHY.
This movie deserves more recognition.
It really tells a deeper meaning.

Don’t watch this. Boycot it!
How can anyone be ok with this?!Forcing young men to dance non stop.
I was mindblown to see Lee Seung Gi (my very first person I became a fan of) as a main host. Especially after he fought for better rights for Korean actors and singers. How could he be oke with doing this job? I hope this was the first and last time it ever aired. I also hope the hosts reflect themselves. Never do any kind of job just for money.
It was also a shock he became a host while he is a father himself now, doing this to young adults.
“ we are human beings, not machines”

Like any other justice and idol drama
The first episode let you see a tiny bit of the dangers of the so called Saseng Culture in Asia. That moment looked promising to me.
But deeper into the serie it became like any other modern drama about idols and (in)justice.
I really hoped they would focus on the Saseng to be honest.
This drama also showed how Korean dramas became so westernised. It disappointed me.
The classic childhood trauma drama and high school trauma drama were not forgotten to put in this drama as well.😪
Beside this, the actors were good. And did a good job to make this drama watchable.
But if you skip I Dol I you won’t miss out tbh.
The actor Kim Jae-young who played Do-Ra Ik did a good job. I don’t think at all that he is to old to play an idol, he mentioned it in a previous interview.
The music in this drama is good.
Other roles might be more suiting to him.
Actress Soo-Young did a good job as well.
But her character was off.
She supposed to be a great winning lawyer, but acts like a 16yo fangirl in private life felt really off.
To summarise my opinion:
-first episode looked promising
-the drama is just like any other idol and justice drama we’ve watched before
-it’s a westernised drama
-actors were good and did a good job
-poor writing
- good music
- you won’t miss out if you don’t watch this drama 👍🏼

Great humor and story
It took me a while to decide to watch this drama.Because period dramas contains a lot of hate, corruption and murder to the royal family.
But the humor, comedy, storyline and the acting are very very good.
The drama catch you at the very beginning and takes you on bingewatching this whole series.
The 20 episodes feels to short but also long enough.
The story is good filled without any boring moments.
The actors are really great.
I love the actress the most.
Her acting is outstanding.
You will definitely hate the dowager queen and grandmother queen.

Highly recommended
China still makes long dramas with great stories. With more traditional values in comparison with Korea, who are very Americanized.
I was happy when she knew pretty fast it was the 5 th Prince and his cousin (aka her teacher ) who killed her entire family on the day of the execution itself. Actually a brutal slaughter of her entire tribe family.
I was ready for some action.
Hoped the last 50+ episodes were filled with drama, more tearjerkers and thrillers and action.
Only to get disappointed with the classic Chinese Amnesia Virus 😩
But all with all a very good drama.
The story is tragic and beautiful at same time.
The actors did a fantastic job.
It would’ve been a higher score if the writer didn’t include the amnesia. It would’ve been more captivating if there was more action and drama instead of the amnesia.

Story is good
The story, costumes and visual effects are very beautiful. However the story is like any other wuxia/fantasy like drama or movie. It’s very predictable. Same plot, same story telling.
I hoped for some unexpected turns but didn’t happen.
The story was told very fast. Due to shortage in time (it’s a movie). I guess it would’ve been better told if it was a drama.
It’s a nice movie to kill time.
But not one to rewatch again.

Wouldn’t rewatch it
The plot is great. In my opinion this subject about domestic violence/abuse should be mentioned more in dramas. It’s a situation that’s silent to often, like s€ual assault.
During watching the serie it was Hard to maintain my attention. It’s a good story, but it somehow it missed something to catch my full attention.
What I also didn’t understand is why the in-laws were so delusional and supportive of the abuse.
It made my skin crawl.
The actors and actresses did a good job. Nothing wrong with their acting.
Wouldn’t watch a second time.

Oké drama
This drama is average. The acting on ML end was great. Other actors were fine. The story is sweet with great comedy.
But to give it a high rating is unnecessary. I’ve seen better drama about gangs, mobsters and criminals.
There wasn’t much development in the case, no action, no building up and the ending was pretty much rushed.
This drama is fine to watch if there isn’t anything else to watch.

Good story, poor writing
The story is good.But…
Hear me out…
The writer did a good job to tell about the severe criminal and violent school bullying (actually more torture then bullying imo) in Asia, especially in Korea.
But what was unnecessary and made this drama bad were the unnecessary n-dity scenes 🛁 🧖♀️.
They put it in the drama just to “catch” western watchers?!.
That ruined it.
I’ve seen some better drama’s telling about this issue, without any unnecessary scenes.
The writer could’ve focused more on the cultural view and social issues in Korea. And the messed up justice system.
How violence under the young citizens goes often unpunished. Because of age and influence.
Telling about that they just can skip the army by sitting in prison for a few months or a year or so or doing some community service as punishment…
What catcher my eye and was interesting, she put the cases together in one catching story: the hot iron, beating up in the ally, the women who worked at the same school as the child of her school bully and some more.
Also how the MC put all webs 🕸️ together to figure out how everything was connected to each other and discovered everyone’s secrets was a work of art in writing.
They could’ve actually made it a longer serie like in the old days, the splitting in two made the waiting unnecessary long for the viewers.
But the ending of this plot was…
Meh. (To be continued)

Nostalgia
High Kick belongs to the classics of Korea and well for obvious reasons. It’s an anchor of the modern Korean drama and filled with television anchors.
It’s not a micro drama
30 minutes episodes, which made it watchable and enduring.
Heartwarming story telling
Good family drama
Good actors
Nice music
Very good humor
Familiar faces of well known Korean and overseas figures.
I can recommend watching High Kick if you love the older G drama’s.
This drama gives you all the nostalgia

The only thing that disappointed me was the ending.
Like everyone else mentioned, it really bothered me. It would’ve been better if they added more episodes to made it ended well.

Good story, annoying FL
Dylan did an amazing job with his acting. Loved his character.Only thing I found annoying was the FL. She was dumb and naive and caused lot of problems and back and forth issues.
I wonder what ML saw in her.
The actress was clearly a voice actress. Lot of sounds she made you can hear them back in Chinese games.
Also, the body switch was fine 1 one time. But FL made the continue body switches stupid..
The devil could’ve finished many enemies and calamities and issues long ago if not for the fairy.
It’s also hard to watch she wants to do everything to change him and stop him.
