I wholeheartedly agree, this is one of my pet peeves actually, but I fail to see where all these comments on MDL are.

In general, there's a real issue with LGBTQ+ content, where some people are okay with only desexualization or the opposite hyper-sexualized objectifying. I haven't really seen a demand for desexualization here. I mean there's been a few innocent types that miss sexual undertones and people who don't want to rehash sexual positions ad nauseam, but that's about it. The ones that say there's too much fluff (quick kisses etc.) mean too much "entertainment or writing perceived as trivial or superficial", meaning they want the fluff and some more serious depiction of sexuality and romance, not that they are disgusted by it.

LOL my point there was more that you may obsess over a show, perfect or imperfect, if it manages to hit you in the feels (WBL). I didn't frase it clearly. People did get defensive over the 2nd season of WBL just like they are now defensive over Bad Buddy, both have their issues. A better example might have been that, for sentimental reasons, I rate 2gether way too high to logically justify. Like you said, it went to hell in a handbasket toward the end.

I agree that episodes 1-6 were the best, after that the quality became inconsistent. Regardless, this is one of those shows that steals your heart, it's not all that logical (another one for me would be We Best Love), rather than one that you like and can appreciate in a more objective manner like, say, I told Sunset About You.

I think that person was just a little bit hasty with their assumptions as to your purpose. It's an unfortunate fact that when someone says "lets talk about T/B", in BL spaces it often devolves into a cringefest of overconfident girls talking about things of which they have no personal experience or acquired knowledge. The knee jerk response therefore is "let's not talk about it" because there usually isn't enough LGBTQ+ representation to counter the woefully inaccurate remarks. Conclusion, someone should write Basic Fujoshing for Dummies and put it in a starter pack for those BL fans.

The breakup has to be one of 3 things already suggested

1. The breakup is real: PP decide to put their relationship on pause until the parents get over it, or until PP graduate and can put a little space between themselves and the parents.
2. The breakup isn't real: PP only pretend to break up to give the parents a chance to cool down.
3. The breakup isn't real: It's a misdirect, an alternative what if...dream sequence, like the what if our parents had always gotten along was.

Also, lets be real, no way is there gonna be a sad ending. Bad buddy is a PG-13 romcom, a sad ending would be shockingly edgy and tone-deaf.

Please, let there not be too many time skips, they are so disorienting. I'm more anxious over the time skips than the breakup at this point 😐.

You could watch the Untamed Special Edition, it's only 20 episodes. I was sold by episodes 3. Never seen the 50 ep version, the Untamed purists might want to have a few words with me😁. I had reservations about the idea of bromance, queerbaiting and China's censorship policy. I thought I migh loose my cool, but it really is worth the watch, it turned out to be one of my favourites.

Those haters are basically kids, so we should cut them some slack. I place most of my ire on the industry fostering that kind of thinking.

I think they felt they needed the bar scene for the plot twist at the end, but tried to also make it age appropriate with humour, which made it weirder. I mean the scene feels less heavy than a serious take on exploitation, but the humourous take feels kinda inappropriate too.

There are other instances of curious choices, intentional or accidental, that are way more prominently featured on my "why do this" list though. Like, I can't get over how in episode 8, when Pran has left all the post-it notes for Pat, Pat goes to the bathroom and while brushing his teeth, sits down on the toilet that has the lid open with his damn pants on. I go "oh no" everytime I see it...I don't think we are supposed to infer he doesn't have his pants on lol?
