I mean really, we all saw that coming. Leads finally admit feelings for each other and then - boom- one gets accepted into an overseas university/job. It's the oldest 'let's add some drama' trick in the BL book. Well, besides miscommunication, that is.
I've loved this since the beginning but my gosh, that was a bad end to the episode. Part 1/4 was lovely, the parting of the parents was well done imo. After that though? Just no.
First of all, I said this way back in the first episode, but the ENGLISH! The pronunciation is not terrible considering the actors can't speak English without an accent, that's understandable, but it does work against the fact that Kevin is supposed to be born and raised in America. He is not supposed to sound Thai, quite the opposite.
And the conversation! I was dying of laughter, the English convo between Kevin and Pluem in the first ep was hilarious, but this one: "Mrs. Kim, I haven't seen your son lately-" "Oh yeah, he had a heart attack. He's dead. Sorry we didn't tell you earlier. Have a nice life."
There are many gaps in the story, like where's Kevin's Mum? What happened to his family in America? Do they know the family is dead? What about that car in the lake? What happens to the ghosts afterwards? Any heaven? Do they just vanish into dust and become obsolete? I wouldn't have minded the gaps if this episode was just as good as the last ones, but now that we've had this unnecessary drama, I'm stewing on all the other bad parts of the show.
the whole "i" and "you" thingy is just straight up bad. idk how it sounds for non thai speakers but as someone…
What 'i' and 'you' thing? The pom and khun? I'm sorry I don't speak Thai so I don't know. Do native Thais not say 'I' and 'you' in the beginning of sentences like we do in English?
I'm stuck in a dilemma here. I'm finding it realllyyy boring, but I have never drop syndrome. I hate dropping shows and I usually don't if I can help it, but this is just not it.
It's not because there's no NC scenes or anything like that, I quite like fluffy BLs but this has a really slow burn. And not in a good way like My Only 12%. I'd probably like this more if I related to all the MSN Messenger and dinosaur computer stuff, but I was young when all that was the hype. In fact, the first time I'd heard of MSN was like 5 years ago. Just not my generation.
I might come back at the end just to see how it concluded, but I think I might just drop for now, or at least put on hold.
Imagine what you'd think if you went on a date with someone and they said they had 'pets' at home, and it turned out those pets were grown ass men. I don't know about you lot, but my mind would go straight to kinks.
He already did if you know what I mean...

The final episode better be fantastic.
