Yeah...I thought so too...I mostly watch BLs as fantasies....and that's what my point is - such fantasies are needed precisely because there rarely are such instances in reality and the fantasy fills that gap of wishful thinking ....a major part of the BLs fill this gap I think, and serves as an escape from the reality....that is why they are popular..to expect realism in BLs is probably counterintuitive....there are some that ring real, but they are few and far between

While I would not say this is queerbaiting, the MDL English synopsis does talk about "a potential love triangle" when describing the dynamics between Jared, Farrah, and Uno, which is a tad misleading and can be interpreted in many ways.....it also says 'Gay Male Lead' ...so it is not entirely impossible to deduct/expect some boy-boy romance based on these, but not really queerbaiting in the strict sense.

This is a really good analysis I would say..I think the whole queer baiting thing came up because there is some ambiguity in the MDL synopsis that talked about 'a potential love triangle' when it describes the dynamics between Farrah, Jared and Uno...and some of us (I definitely did) read that as a possibility of an Uno-Jared endgame, may be because we wanted it that way? :)

Scene: As Parker reveals his wild-angst driven fantasy about Uno, and Uno finally yields, Jared arrives...... shell shocked at first, but then decides that the volleyball team can not loose out to the basketball team, and asks Ethan to join for a fair game...and they 'butt-heads' 🤣

Off course we would keep Farrah and the gals away from such 'violent acts'

Ditto....and that scene between Uno Jared simply did not give even remote vibes of Jared having a crush on Uno....just his best bro...if that is not the case, then they need to go back and change how Jared looks at Uno during that scene...😏

I know...what you say sounds legit....but I don't know how Parker then becomes a 'Main Role' otherwise. 🤷🏽‍♂️..unless everything does a turn turtle and its Uno-Jared and Farrah-Parker instead 🤯...which seems almost impossible given how feisty Farrajh is and how much of an asshole Parker still seems to be....

I think that is what is most likely to happen between Uno and Jared....to sort out the past falling out and resentment....

Also, from the little peek at their earlier friendship, Jared didn't seem to have any romantic leanings towards his friend (or is this me reading too much into that brief scene?)...it's only that the MDL synopsis that hints at a love triangle between Uno, Jared and Farrah, that I'm not being able to be absolutely certain about that

Well, I do agree to an extent...but let's just see how this develops...I will hold my judgement on the queerbaiting for now, and will continue to watch this since I find the storytelling to be quite good

Agreed on all points...these days most people seem hell bent on wanting to cancel anything that even slightly veers off from their expectations or set ideas of how things 'should be'....I see that as not so different than the cis-het world that have, and continue to want to cancel the queer people and their diverse expressions...

I think it is absolutely alright to express disagreements and disappointment, but to immediately call for canceling is sad.

Now that I look at the caste and the usual MDL trend of who they mention as 'Main Role', as also the order in which the main roles appear on their page, it might be Uno-Farrah and Jared-Parker?

So as an alternate possibility, I wonder, are we headed for a story where a deeply closeted homophobe and bully, Parker, wakes up and comes out/confesses his love for the captain of the uber-gay volleyball team, and another homo-transphobe finally finds the courage to own up to their juvenile and phobic behaviour courtesy their compassionate girlfriend?

The trailers were a tad misleading I must say...but not completely ruling it out either...but I still say very unlikely...maybe Jared-Parker?

Agreed..the show itself does not qualify as queerbaiting...but the promos did have me think that this might just be a BL...and I have a feeling that might have been intentional....I am loving it though, and will continue to watch, even though a Uno-Jared endgame seems extremely unlikely at this point.
