I love Victor but I don't like that they turned him into a lovesick puppy chasing after Trin this episode. I liked…
I think it is only realistic that there will be several layers of the same person...so I am not at all surprised at Victor's apparently contrasting layers of the revolutionary and the giddy college-goer in love.....I find them to be perfectly natural. But yes, agreed that Trin has no romantic feelings for Victor. Nevertheless, I wish we had more time for this triangle and a slow burn of how things unravel between the three...that would have been delish!!
Also, without meaning to disrespect any of your personal preferences about age gaps and not wanting to see that, I wanted to flag that ageism seems to be so ubiquitous in the BL-watching community (also elsewhere as well?) ...which I find to be quite sad and unnecessary.
While in reality it is quite usual to find partners who are far apart in their years...and I have personally witnessed a few such partnerships that are extremely loving and stable, in ways particularly owing to the age difference between the partners and how one can compliment the other's emotional needs. There off course are others who get toxic, but that is true for all kinds of relationships and not particularly for those that have a substantial age gap between the partners.
Where the hell did Trin find that T-shirt for Tanwa? 🙄 I am guessing he doesn't wear crop tops and it doesn't…
Ikr....unless it is from Trin's childhood, which again was unbelievable...like who would dig up 10 year-old clothes for a 'friend' who suddenly comes visiting the village home, late into the night......that was just a meh attempt at poking fun with an unrealistic premise that was absolutely unnecessary and out of the blue...particularly given how thought-through the scenes in this drama seem to be.... 😑
I have been raving about the show...but episode 5 just took my breath away....the art director and colourist know their shit, the frames are plain spectacular...
And then that reflection of the David figurine in the backdrop, as Naran and Krail have the talk about standing up against big enemies, was beyond amazing.....hats off!!
DAMN!!! This is so good!! Binged watched all the 3 episodes....and boy, the intrigue is like sizzling!!!
The script, storytelling, and acting so far is proof enough that if China seriously starts making more BLs, and they don't get sucked into the miasma of China's BL-censorship, Thai and Korean BL industry will be under some serious threat!! The script is so much more matured and thought through.
Erm....you really think BLs are popular for their 'realism' ?
I guess a lot of us feel, and act triggered these days because there's too much hurt, violence, and power struggles all around us to adapt to....that comes out in the conversations that we have with strangers at times, where we want to fiercely protect our beliefs, perceptions and takes....I don't think the countering is personal at all...so why not be a tad more tolerant to each other, right?
Btw, those watercolour portraits on your profile are really beautiful- did you draw them yourself? :)

Yeah...I thought so too...I mostly watch BLs as fantasies....and that's what my point is - such fantasies are needed precisely because there rarely are such instances in reality and the fantasy fills that gap of wishful thinking ....a major part of the BLs fill this gap I think, and serves as an escape from the reality....that is why they are popular..to expect realism in BLs is probably counterintuitive....there are some that ring real, but they are few and far between
the crew never claims that this BL and it's not even tagged as LGBTQIA+ here in MDL so why did these people commented…
While I would not say this is queerbaiting, the MDL English synopsis does talk about "a potential love triangle" when describing the dynamics between Jared, Farrah, and Uno, which is a tad misleading and can be interpreted in many ways.....it also says 'Gay Male Lead' ...so it is not entirely impossible to deduct/expect some boy-boy romance based on these, but not really queerbaiting in the strict sense.
From the very beginning we get big indications that the main couple is going to be Uno and Farrah. Reading over…
This is a really good analysis I would say..I think the whole queer baiting thing came up because there is some ambiguity in the MDL synopsis that talked about 'a potential love triangle' when it describes the dynamics between Farrah, Jared and Uno...and some of us (I definitely did) read that as a possibility of an Uno-Jared endgame, may be because we wanted it that way? :)
Ah....even though it makes sense, I must say it sounds waaaay more tame this way 😪......my script sounds so…
I see...so you are saying Gameboys, and Hello Stranger, were not really mainstream, right? Just to help understand the queer rights scenario better - I was given to understand that Filipino society was majorly accepting of queer-trans people and identities, despite the strong catholic influence - is this understanding incorrect?
