Yes, this idiom really carves deeply in Qi Yan's bones. I can't wait to see he uncovers the mysteries and build his power, we still haven't meet his prime minister Li De Yu, he is the strong supporter for Li Yan when he is in ruling.

Hmm i don't think Cheng Xi believe in Qi Yan power, otherwise why she is keeping secret from him? And i think she is not smart enough to strategize things, i feel she works for other people or being used as pawn.

Yes this also a good reason too for her memory loss. I also considered this aspect too. But when she is adult, why her aunt still keep her in the dark? 🤔 And to make her closer to the people who gave her the nightmare, is it really a good decision?

Is the medicine really come from her or other person? But i found it odd, if she want Yu'er to help her, isn't it more easy to do it by her knowing her past? If it is to keep her safe, but why she put her closely to Qi Yan, knowing her real identity? I think Cheng Xi only used Qi Yan. She obviously didn't think Qi Yan has what it takes and really admire Prince Guang.
Apart from the term "Chang'an" and Cheng Yi (and a few others), a world of differences :D
I am thoroughly enjoying this drama so far 😁 It has what i always want from TPOC, more interesting palace politics and love that goes both ways. I lovee Qi Yan!! 😆😆
Yeah she is pretty awesome - to the point I am actually hoping he ditches the FL for her.
In the drama, they emerged both male leads of the novel that have different loveline, into Qi Yan. Before, i thought maybe we can also emerge the loveline too hahaha,,😅😅 But it is kinda out of character for Qi Yan personality in the drama. And in the novel, they also have a different personality in each couple. And beside, i sort of have a feeling, Yan Zhi may have a "relationship" with the other prince, don't know for sure 🤔
I'd like to give an appreciation post to the SFL character here, Yan Zhi is really an intriguing, complex & well…
I think Yan Zhi kinda like the female version of Qi Yan. She also has a lot of burden. She bravely entered the lion den on her own (or is it really on her own? I guess we will discover later on). She is smart and calculative, and seemingly kinda want to help Qi Yan, i think because she notice that he is a worthy opponent to Qiu Shiliang. Her double side behavior is really interesting. And it put a nice contrast to Yu'er personality. And make me wonder, if she remembered all along about what happen to her family, does she also gonna have the same route as Yan Zhi? Or maybe she gonna choose a different path? 🤔 And does she still able to keep her innocence way of thinking like now? And more important thing, does she able to be close to Qi Yan like she is now? And i like that everything might not seem than what it is displayed on the surface. Make you want to peel its layer one by one patiently 😉
I can understand why you think she is dumb or bird brain. But that is probably why the writers decided to make…
Haha,, on the contrary, i am really interested to know more about the story. I always love palace politics drama. The more it has many hidden agenda, the more excited i am to uncover the secret 😉

It is not a lazy scriptwriting. Her personality is design that way for a purpose. Don't you think it is weird why her aunt prepared her to be the head of sword bearer without the proper knowledge about politics when she is at the center of power, with that high position? In the trailer, Qi Yan said "Everything i have, was given by others, including you (Yu'er)." And for her amnesia is also odd, she was hurt due to arrow shot, either it is due to maybe she fell down and knock her head back then or due to man-made design? We can only know the answer later on.
her character is similar to the one she played on Love and redemption
The script is refer to the characterization in the novel. And they have finished the script way long before they even filming it. The scriptwriter create the script for 5 years because she wanted to give more details to the historical figure. So don't put the cart before the horse. I think they might cast her because they think she is suitable with this kind of role. I think there is nothing wrong with that.
.. and they have changed the English title to "Stand By Me", no more Chang'an which I thought was rather stale.…
I also wondered why they choose this title for their english one? Why not translated directly from the new chinese title "Song of the Lord/Emperor?" at least 😅
I think they do keep records because it concerned king/emperor's heir 😏 This scene is so funny indeed 🤣🤣 Actually he didn't have to do it that way, but he said it himself "Lust makes people dumb" 😏 I am surprise he even said that 😅😅
Guys where are you watching it? Because I checked wetv and viki and couldn't find it
WeTV under title Dream of Chang'an in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Philippines. Outside these countries, you could use VPN, someone mention before, it worked. Now it opens for free non member up to eps 4. Viki seems to also under the same title with WeTV.
