Yes! You are absolutely right! Why they underestimated Xianxia drama? Many quality chinese dramas that i have watch are xianxia. I loves this genre. I think as long the drama has a solid story and solid acting, any genre will be great. Yes, the first thing i search after i found Cheng Yi will be played in this, is the director. And he has quite solid resume. So, i am sure the drama will be in the right hand.

I wonder will they sparks again? Hehe,, his 2016 colleagues meeting again :D

Well, her fans does. In anycase, my personal opinion is why should an artist be reluctant to take similar role, just because they are afraid being typecast. If people could find their impression is different from the previous role, despite similar characterization, than the artist can break that wall. They could confidently say that they can play any characters.

Well i thought we already come to the same understanding, that she has more freedom to choose her own dramas because she had other dramas outside HR, and she has a freedom to refused because she already refused the drama before. So whether she really "forced" to accept it, i think only Yang Zi herself that knows. And the fact is she already accept the role, nothing can change that other than Yang Zi herself, Youku, and HR. And please don't bring Cheng Yi in the mix. If her fans think she is a "victim," so does he. Because he doesn't even have more freedom as her.

I know HR is bad company very well. I never said anything different. I just wonder why her fans think so many reasons that unrelated to Cheng Yi, such as her role is the same, it is not an awards drama, she was "forced" to accept it, etc. That is the reason of why we have this conversation isn't it?

I am not talking about money. I am talking whether her acting can be a breakthrough when she has similar role than her previous role. Because i think it is rather difficult. What is an awards drama story, what is not an awards drama story? What makes you think a popular theme is not an award drama material? The quality of drama depends on many factors, the acting, the director, the visual effect, the story, etc. Titanic wons Oscar and it is also box office movie with billion audiences.
I think whether she had been used by HR before or not, that is another issue. Don't mix the problem. Smart people could use an unfortunate situation to become his or her gain. Cheng Yi also being used by HR to block the slander against them because of the whole FL controversy. But he choose to continue working hard in preparing for his role because he knows his acting is his life saviour. Even when the whole fiasco of the opening ceremony, he change it to become a very fortunate experience he has because he can have meet and greet with his fans, and both of them enjoying themselves. Even make his other fans who couldn't come become very envy of the rare experience, because they could interact more closely and freely.

Yes i also heard about this. But don't you think they have sort it out before they decide to make it a drama? This drama is high budget production, if the foundation is not firm enough, how would they continue to built a "house" above it? HR has been dealing with novel based drama that has similar issue before, but they manage to convert it to another storylines. So what makes you think that they would not do the same with this one?
