I only watched eps 31 of Xiao Zhuang Epic, because i want to see how they created the scenes in eps.50. I think The Promise of Chang'an created a better storyline for those scenes and i like how the scenes are portrayed, with how the battle was, how Ming Yu reacted and how Qi Yuan finally shown remorse and repent. And off course i much prefer Cheng Yi's Xiao Cheng Xu portrayal too. I think they changed the story to a better one. Xiao Zhuang Epic is too pitiful and seems so bleak. So i think his character will be following the actual historical figure, not the novel. Yes Qiu Yan Zhi in the novel seems close to Prince Guang too.
