And he pronounce death in history. But in any case the drama has interesting story, and people died eventually, how he live is what matter the most. Haha sorry if it is not really assuring,,,

The novel has 2 male leads, Li Yan & Li Rong (Li Yan's little brother). Li Rong has love relationship with Bing Er (judging from the character description, this character in the drama is Cheng Ruo Yu). He died when he is trying to save her. And Li Yan has love relationship with her sister who become Qiu Shi Liang's god daughter. I think the drama combine these 2 characters in the novel together to become Li Yan in the drama, so the drama story will be more intriguing. And it kinda more closer to the real historical figure, because Li Yan is kinda a loner, he doesn't have any influence in court and eunuch Qiu Shi Liang brought him to become king because he thought he could control him. And Li Rong actually his contender for the throne. And so does Li Chen/Prince Guang. And Li Yan in real history has love relationship with a dancer. And Cheng Ruo Yu/Bing Er is a sword dancer. So i am really excited to see what the drama story will be like :D

I think the CP feeling kinda sabotage by how her character was written in the drama. The love is rather unbalanced from her side. But her character in the adaptation drama Xiaozhuang Mishi that this drama based on, is even worse than here though. Because in that drama, she pretty much think of Cheng Xu as her previous love in her younger age, what left is just guilty feeling. At least that is my impression. But what i like about this drama is the fact that Cheng Xu's enemies are someone he is close with, so he never has that clear line that separate his love and his hate. It is kinda different than any other drama that has a clear enemy, so the villain here have 3 dimensional story, the drama told their background story that lead them acted like that in the story. I think the drama story start from what his father saying, the biggest difficulty in life is knowing what is in people's heart.
