The plot is very basic, but I loved how this drama shows how hard it really is to live in another country and to be in love with someone who doesn't speak your language. How you can never really express your feelings in language that is not your own.
The drama itself is very slow, there are a lot of slow scenes with lots of long longing stares, but somehow it works and is not boring.
I dont like the fact that FML's part in the breakup is never really adressed besides like one sentence at the end, but we have to endure HOURS of blaming (and self-blaming of) the ML

why giving us 5 minutes of lukewarm romance just to have Pil Do killed off pointlessly???

i would say that it's not necessary, but I highly recommend watching No Love No Gain first as it will give you a lot of background

ML and FML who grew up together reunite after a few years apart. We all know where this is going, right?
Even though the plot is such a cliche, i absolutely loved it. The chemistry is chemistrying and the cuteness galore is there.
I love how this is not your regular rom-com, this is a family drama with love in the background. There's a huge emphasis on family relations and friendship and I'm here for it.

This is one of the dramas that I picked up after seeing one 10sec long reel. Was it worth it? Yes and no. The acting was cringe and cartoomish at times (Ryan Ren Im looking at you) but the cinematography and fighting scenes were stunning.
This was my first Chinese drama and it will probably be the last as I lack the mental capacity of watching ca. 30episodes as if this year of our Lord 2010, lol.

The only character I remotely felt for was Jin Jing Xue as every man in her life was shit. Her uncle was scamming her, Situ Wi Lan fancied himseld in love but he treated her like a pretty object, Li Ying Lan - a man she loved all her life - offered her to Wei Lan in exchange of a chance of power like this is season 3 of Gossip Girl.

This drama was so cool and so refreshing. It caused a lot of uproar online as it was very vocal about grown women having sex and female pleasure and apparently these are domoralising values of the west, so take from this what you want.Mixed feelings on ML as imo Kim Young Dae has zero vibes with his female costars, but Shin Min A was absolutely great (if you disregard her awful clothes, as someone in the costumes department clearly hates her).
2ML and 2FML stole the show.

IMO it also ended too quickly, everything was wrapped up in like 5 minutes.
