i realised it yesterday while talking to a friend. it's not what book would say either. i think he did it all to make Xiao Chen have no one else but him. Xiao Chen will have no one and he will come back to Lu Feng. it was his mother and brother that held him back. Now with no one Xiao Chen will be alone only to be with Lu Feng..
