I am just gonna say looks are superficial. that's what we see first though. look at the characters and you will enjoy a series more.

the book has a happy ending.

it's a fiction. whoever is supporting and against, I think that their perspective will change in reality. person changes with what they have learned n experienced. So with these characters. for the two main leads, the book covered all of it. watch a movie called Crash with Sandra Bullock cos that made me understand this.

it is as per book like Kacee said. but when you read all of the novel you would understand why Ayden/Lu Feng looks like that. There was a line which i took it as Lu Feng has aged cos of all the loneliness and pain in 20 years. the Xiao Chen's pov mentions they look same as before 20 years ago.

right, when they are comfortable, an amazing screen chemistry can be seen.

it hurts. for me it is all worth it when they get back together. the hurt is needed to appreciate the warmth.
