This is heartbreaking i think all the more so because it feels terribly, shatteringly real... but times are really changing, just the fact that we can have these conversations out loud publicly proves it.. kids nowadays around my younger siblings' ages seem much much more open.. i'm waiting for the day stories like these feel like relics simply because the sentiment of homophobia, internalized amd overt, are so incomprehensible and a thing of the past
I really really liked this series, for a lot of reasons, but theres 2 things that stuck with me 1. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the parallels in the scenes between ryouji/takuma and Shirosaki/Hayama. It's not so similar as to be gimmicky, because the situations and motivations are vastly different, but ends in similar actions.. these details were exquisite 2. I adore the sensibility that went into writing hayama's character. From the beginning we get the impression he likes yuki, even though it's never said outright.. and when it starts becoming obvious we get his backstory. Then ahh, it makes so much sense... the only time he was able to - when he felt he was allowed to - display and feel emotions was when he was acting. It was a 'safe' medium for someone for whom emotions had become almost taboo - so it makes so much sense that he would propose the whole act-like-lovers deal w the person he was truly in love with
BounPrem went for the fitting today! Finally some movement on this series!! ٩(๑>ᴗ<๑)۶ Edit: Oh, all the cast was there!!! Everyone looks so good, i can't wait for this ♡♡
100000/10. Plot - flows very well. Theres drama, angst, passion, but somehow all imbued with a sense of restraint and elegance. The best part of the series was the unspoken. Moments of silence speak louder than any words - with either couple - and it's portrayed beautifully, even with such a short series, there is so much time devoted to quiet companionship.. it feels so rich both emotionally and conceptually. The story has ups and downs, plot-wise, but the tone of the movie is set and thats fricking gorgeous, the direction is sublime. The characters are well-written, really multi-faceted and feel so real. JimWen's character's - esp Wen - are really not the best, but in a way that feels very human.. Alan and Gaipa as well.. except for Li Ming's mom, you can kind of see everyone's side of it.. But ofc HeartMing are the real stars of the series.. every single scene of theirs was so poignant Cinematography + BGM fits perfectly, seamlessly Acting - nothing to be said. I had to pause about 5 times each episode simply from being overwhelmed with happiness, frustration, pity, or just cute-aggression 😅
Tldr; Heartwarming, nostalgic, a story thats actually simple but so extraordinarily, richly executed, a true Romance [also i will legit cut my heart out of my chest for HeartMing, istfg !!!!]
I just rewatched kieta hatsukoi after ages and i have to say casting gemfourth for the adaptation is spot-on! Gem as the cool-but-deeply-kind Ida and Fourth as the playful-cute Aoki is so fitting! I kept imagining how they'd do the scenes hehehe, anticipating the release~~
Extremely well done. The acting is so good, my god, even in this fully censored adaptation, the way they express themselves with just a look, the emotions are SCREAMED out so loud! Without a single touch they were able to express such intensity! I can't get over how heartfelt it was.. The progress of their intimacy flowed impeccably, and I esp love how they stayed playful and fun even with an established r/ship. The direction and production is excellent! The side characters, esp Duo Duo, did a stellar job. The biggest plus though, was that there was a solid good plot and story at the base of this series, and it was long enough to flesh out all the characters and let you appreciate how they grow.
SO worth the watch but my god keep like 3 entire tissue rolls ready It's very very much hinting at a second season with warrior!yai so i hope we do get it!!!! Also gd this fella's wordline is sooo frickin unstable 😅
Visually stunning masterpiece with solid storytelling and a talented cast - 10/10
Especially the cinematography, production and yes, coloring, was spectacular I haven't been this entranced by a series in a long while; it's not one of those series thats just carried by a hot pairing and the typical BL tropes, please watch this, it's well worth it
[Omggg tho when i just started watching this i genuinely thought i had lost my mind with the random jumps from sea to ohm 😂😂😂😂😂 Still, the OhmNanon guesting is a nice little treatx as is Gun's special appearance, he had me squealing 😅]
How to watch this series: 1. Open the show but don't play yet 2. In another tab/device open hidden hangout/any of JoongDunk's lives/shows etc 3. Now start watching the series 4. Everytime Kleun manufactures some stupid misunderstanding OUT OF NOTHING, for NO GD REASON, pause 5. Open prev tab (refer point 2) and watch 6. Get super frustrated even if you don't actually ship the actors irl because omg they are soo out of pocket at times and also like eff u both, where is MY hot guy to shamelessly flirt with at 3am in a hotel in tokyo 🤬 7. Come back to the series full of schadenfreude 8. Enjoy
(warning: only really works if yr a fan of either/both 😅)
Seriously though, this writing is so bad, all the angst and drama was so senseless, literally it was sooo stupid; just watch it for the cast
The premise of the plot had so much potential, the location was spectacular and ofc the casting was great but man.. this was just lazy in terms of writing BounPrem carried the show though, so still an easy, light watch Seriously what a waste though esp given how hot Boun was and how fricckking gdamn adorable Prem was in this, even with the badly written character they had to portray (Prem esp was really giving me 2015 orange-hair jimin vibes at certain angles 😍)
Letdown tbh, coz main couple are so hot, (Ton gives me serious Ping vibes), and the subject matter is theoretically so steamy and somehow the §ex scenes ended up just looked fake and awkward *sigh*
I mean, the story was rather nonsensical (the lifted straight out of wattpad type), filled with random abrupt jump cuts, so after substandard writing, directing and producing on other fronts i was expecting it to at least be good corn-without-plot but even that didn't work
but times are really changing, just the fact that we can have these conversations out loud publicly proves it.. kids nowadays around my younger siblings' ages seem much much more open..

Deleted ending scene, gives a preview to the second season we will probably never see
