I just realized it's only 12 episodes. That's too short for slice of life! Even with the long episodes. Now I don't know how they'll wrap it all up!
On The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call Apr 30, 2025
The super high rating surprised me just a smidge, but that said, it IS an enjoyable drama, and a fun popcorn flick. Utterly fantastical, it felt a cut below Dr. Romantic in realism and character development (though Dr. Romantic is one of my all-time favorites, so, hard act to follow), but that's probably partly due to the length. I didn't mind the lack of romance one bit. It also moves at lightning speed (it felt much more like the pacing of an American TV show than a drama to me) and everyone seems to be losing their marbles half the time, ๐Ÿ˜… but that was what made it heartwarming, I guess (I just would hope doctors treating me would be a little calmer than Dr. Yang or Dr. Han ๐Ÿ˜†). The characters are also all adorable, and I love the way Dr. Baek won all his enemies over.

P.S. While Jae Won is quite endearing (and I was bummed they glossed over the part where he finally acted competent and cool as a cucumber), Park Gyeong Won was my favorite Baek disciple. โ˜บ๏ธ

P.P.S. Would totally watch a Season 2 with Seo Dong Ju as No. 2. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I think it's too early to tell. So far I'd say it's less a part of the plot than Dr. Romantic, but I can't speak…
Ooh, thanks for the recs! I enjoyed the first three you shared for Kdramas, but haven't brought myself to watch WLGYT yet... I don't want to cry a river!

I should! It's one of those famous ones I haven't gotten to yet; it seemed boring to me but I should give it a shot!

Does this drama have a significant or important romance - relationship angle. Not just as an add-on cream fluff…
I think it's too early to tell. So far I'd say it's less a part of the plot than Dr. Romantic, but I can't speak to Hospital Playlist as I've never seen either season. I felt like Dr. Romantic the romance permeated the story even if it didn't take front and center all the time. Here it is one of the several plots going at once. In ny experience, slice of life stuff tends to do that; have lots of slow-going plots that take place alongside each other.

Subway and kopiko are very very common. Theyโ€™re pretty much in every modern show.
Or jewelry!
On Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends Apr 29, 2025
Kenshin feels kind of like a Japanese Batman! ๐Ÿ˜…

My favorite quote is from his final fight with his mentor when his teacher says to him:

"If you sacrifice your life to protect those you hold dear, they will grieve for you. They will not be happy. Your own life is worth as much as any other. Only when you understand the gravity of it, will the ultimate technique be yours...Your life does not belong only to you. If you understand that, come at me again."

So good! I love how he incorporates these truths into a lesson for how to tap into the ultimate technique. Kenshin can only be truly effective if he remembers that as much as he wants others to live, they want HIM to live. If he's throwing his own life away, he's forgetting that all lives are precious, even his own.

I know her hubby didn't just casually talk about getting his wife pregnant again because HE wants a son after…
I started picking up on why he was doting on her when he found out she didn't have to get a hysterectomy. A first rate narcissist. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Is your wife your baby vending machine? Ewwwww.

i guess he fell hzrder after watching her cursing out that weird husband hahahahah she is so cute
He loved it even more when she repeated it on his behalf and applied it to Dr. Myeong. ๐Ÿ˜… The guy needs to sort out his feelings before he hurts her, though. She's been so painfully open and honest with him, and he needs to respond in kind, even if it means talking about the fact that, despite their feelings, things can't work. In reality this would be a REALLY tough relationship to make work for a myriad of reasons.

The GPS saying 're-routing' right as DW realized what he said and desperately tried to take it back was absolute…
At least this time he noticed he said something thoughtless! Last time in the car when she said, "Am I talking too much?" He responded with, "It's okay, I wasn't listening." ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ DUUUDE.

But the male GYN doctor is a little weird, right? I think I like him but he's also such an oddball and so awkward! ๐Ÿ˜…

OIY is getting less prickly and nonchalant about her work, too. Little wins!

What does Do Won want? lol
I don't think he even knows. ๐Ÿ˜… I mean, it's probably not that inaccurate to someone in his position, right? The guy eats and breathes work, so it's not like he's had a lot of practice at this sort of thing, AND, on top of that, she's his sister-in-law AND they live in the same house... it's a bit complicated if you ask me. ๐Ÿ˜…

If knows if he mucks this up he not only ruins a friendship, but also work dynamics AND family dynamics. But we all know he likes her. He must.

This drama needs to quit playing with me, are those two going to be a thing or should I watch a romance kdrama…
Well, no one, even in a romance drama, starts dating by Episode 4 (if they end up together by the end, that is). We want it this way; it bodes better for their future in dramaland. ๐Ÿ˜‰
