His mom was a runaway so she most likely had a new family and tried to get kiho (which is why his dad was beating him in a mention of mom or him running away).
Maybe KHs dad found them once which is why WH was hurt while trying to defend KH.

But my questions are: - why does the island look like its on Caribbean? - how come there are potatoes? It can be only seeded by people. If eaten raw, you can get super sick. - there were no people, but all of a sudden she has umbrellas, kettle, tent and other things lol
