Yes, they help each other, plan for each other, protect each other as well as sacrifice for each other in the novel. I hope they keep the ending the same in the drama. They both deserve to be joint rulers of the realm. They are also the two most powerful people in their realm and Ming Yi also makes many laws and policies to improve the conditions of women and children in the Realms as before women and people without spiritual veins were treated very badly by others. Women were even s*ld and there were br**ding camps in certain kingdoms in that world which Ming Yi and Ji Bozai stopped together.
He gives the potion to her secretly by adding it in her favourite scallion pancakes. She comes to know of it later…
He came to know that she was suffering from the poison, when she was suffering from the aftereffects once and was very ill. Afterwards, he helps her. He first comes to know that she was not a powerless dancer as she had led him to believe initially but someone with spiritual veins and very strong power and that she had been poisoned and with nearly destroyed veins. He helps her by secretly putting antidote in her food. Later he knows of her true identity as Ming Xian. There was never any direct confrontation between him and her due to her deception. Yes, he lost his trust in her when he knew that she had spiritual veins. But coming to know that she was Ming Xian did not shock him as much because he had already somewhat guessed her identity was something more important by then. Knowing just helped him solve his doubts as to why she was poisoned.
Not very clear if he was also poisoned or not or which poison, but he was mentioned to have many rare poisons, antidotes and medicines in his collection in the novel. And it was stated that he needed it himself. Maybe the drama will clear this doubt in later episodes.
The novel was a happy ending with both of them becoming the emperor and empress of the six realms after Ji Bozai conquered the six realms with Ming Yi's help.
Not Jixing Abyss spell but Ji Bozai mentioned Jixing Abyss spiritual power. My guess is that people with spiritual…
Ji Bozai sensed Ming Yi saving him and then fainted(end of ep 17). This was when Ming Yi use her and Er Shi Qi's power together. After which she went to save Buxiu in his dragon form where Situ Ling gave her his power. When she came back to Ji Bozai, he was unconscious and having nightmares(beginning of ep 18), Ming Yi only held him closer and comforted him and did not use any spell/power at this time. So, how could have sensed Situ Ling's power? What he sensed of Ming Yi was before he fainted and she went to save Buxiu.
And Ming Yi and Er Shi Qi do not have Jixing Abyss power, but I think they somehow concealed their own power to look like Jixing Abyss 's. This could be because Ji Boza and Buxiu believe her to be Ming Xian's fiancée and Er Shi Qi is Ming Xian's beast and not Ming Yi's. So, probably, Ming Yi and Er Shi Qi could not combine their powers casually like a master and beast as that would be suspicious.
Later in ep 18 itself, when Ming Yi is getting the after effects of losing a petal and suffering from the poison in front of Ji Bozai at timestamp 20:11, Ji Bozai askes her whaat's wrong. Ming Yi tells him that the Graft Spell probably backfired. He tells her that the spell reverses spiritual veins and it is dangerous.
i Don't understand the whole conversation between JBZ & MY after he woke up in today's episode... graft spell…
Not Jixing Abyss spell but Ji Bozai mentioned Jixing Abyss spiritual power. My guess is that people with spiritual veins have spiritual power powers specific to the place they come from which makes it easier for other people with spiritual veins to know their origins. And spells are cast with the spiritual power. Hence, spells cast by JIxing Abyss warriors and can be differentiated from other places due to the different spiritual power which Ji Bozai can sense.
So, Ming Yi who is originally from Yaoguang Mountains and with spiritual veins cast a spell with Jixing Abyss spiritual power, meaning she was able to conceal her origins from Ji Bozai but did not do so when she tried to save him before (maybe she did not want to conceal it from him or was unable to conceal it because of her poison which Ji Bozai does not know of).
Ming Yi cast the Graft Spell by borrowing Er Shi Qi's power after bringing the Nether Beast Luring Caltrop out of Ji Bozai, probably because the Nether Beast Core was leaking inside him. She cast it by concealing her spiritual veins to look like Jixing Abyss veins. As to why she suddenly chose to conceal her veins having already shown their true form to Ji Bozai, I do not know.
And as for him asking why she did not take the Golden Millet Dream from him, despite him putting a blood seal on it, could have many reasons. Firstly, he knows Ming Yi, though weak now, is still somewhat powerful as compared to someone with no spiritual veins(what he knew of her before the reveal and before putting a seal on the antidote). Secondly, Ming Yi told him and he also knows that refining the Nether Beast Core had made him very weak and near death, so if Ming Yi really wanted to, she could take the antidote. (We know she cannot because of the poison making her weak, but he doesn't).
In the novel, does she "steal" the potion.. or he gives it to her while realizing he has been "betrayed"..…
He gives the potion to her secretly by adding it in her favourite scallion pancakes. She comes to know of it later from Buxiu or Granny Xun, I cannot remeber who exactly. She never tries to steal after knowing that he also needs it.

(We know she cannot because of the poison making her weak, but he doesn't).
The Graft Spell probably has nothing to do with the power Situ Ling gave Ming Yi when she went to the Dragon Carp Terrace to help Buxiu. Because Ming Yi used her own powers along with Er Shi Qi's powers to get the Nether Beast Luring Caltrop out of Ji Bozai and he saw her and then fainted. After that Ming Yi went to help Buxiu. So, the spell that Ji Bozai had sensed Ming Yi using, was just her own spiritual power combined with Er Shi Qi's.
It was probably Ming Yi concealing her own veins which probably was characteristic of Yaoguang Mountain warriors/ people to look like Jixing Abyss warrior/people veins. I come to this conclusion because in the novel, Ming Yi did conceal her (white) spiritual veins to look more ordinary (blue/earth spiritual veins) so as to conceal her identity as a warrior. In the novel, spiritual veins were categorised by colour with black and white veins being most powerful and the earth, blue being ranked lower and more ordinary in terms of power. Ji Bozai had black veins and Ming Yi had white veins.
So, in the drama Ming Yi may have tried to conceal her veins to make them look different or more like veins common to Jixing Abyss to avoid looking suspicious. When Ji Bozai asks that if she was already capable of hiding her identity from him by concealing her powers, why she did not do so and she tells him that she was tired of lying to him and hence revealed her spiritual veins.
PS: I am rambling now. I really do not know why I wrote this long passage but it did help to clear my doubts to myself and organise my thoughts. Whatever, it improved my typing speed atleast.
Agreed. Like the moment mzy punched wzs then he was holding wz and the next he was fighting with wzs without any…
Last I checked, this was a platform where people shared their opinions freely, regardless of whether they clashed or not. If it bothers you that much, you might as well close your eyes, click out of the MDL website and rewatch the episode. Nobody is stopping you. You are even welcome to share a different opinion with me on why you think episode 32 was well edited/not poorly edited. But you didn't, either you are not capable of doing so/think it is not worth it. However, if it’s the latter, you may as well not have wasted your time writing the insufficient comment that you did.
P.S. I currently have a lot of free time, so I thought I could waste some on you. You’re welcome.

Yes, I was like did I set to 2x and missed the scene? Even the cat on the rooftop of MZY's house was so weirdly shot, one time you could see the silhouette of the Kitty and the other time it seemed as if MZY was talking to no one standing on the stairs faced towards the rooftop tiles.
Yup i noticed that too lol, i believe you are talking about the part where MZY and WZS where sunddely fighting…

I don't know why but ep 32's editing seems so choppy, as if I have fast forwarded without fast forwarding. Characters suddenly are in the middle of actions like we opened the episode mid-scene.

If you believe He Yan passes for a man I would respectfully suggest you get your eyes checked my friend. Lol.…
I never said Zhou Ye looks like a man, my friend. I said she looks like a pretty boy, a bit gender-neutral if you will, neither too feminine nor too masculine. “Tomboyish” would probably be the right word. She could be passed off as a tomboyish/gender-neutral/pretty boy type. The actress may look very feminine in real life, but in this story, that femininity seems subdued. You do not need to gaslight yourself. Good for you, a pat on the back, my friend. Lol. There have been worse male-disguised women in Chinese dramas, and there have been better male-disguised women in Chinese dramas. This drama sits somewhere in the middle.
On an ending note, my eyes are just fine, but I suspect our viewing glasses are set to entirely different prescriptions.
some of these have really good gender bender design for FL...https://www.reddit.com/r/CDrama/comments/170w4te/women_dressed_as_men_in_cdramas/how…
You make fair points as well, but the thing is why others do not question it is probably because it was unthinkable for them to imagine a woman in the army disguised as a man. It is unheard of. The very pillars of society forbid it. Women in those days were meant to stay in the inner chambers, not even in the outer chambers of their own homes let alone the army. Women were supposed to learn the four arts and care about their appearance and social standing and prepare for marriage. Who would believe that a woman would be willing to disguise as a man, train and stay with men(the scandal!!), get scars from battle (equal to ruining her appearance and loose a chance at a good marriage) and even be ready to face death. This was not a feminist rising era, where a majority or even a minority of the women, wanted equality, prove men were wrong, show a woman can do whatever a man can do. So, this suspicion would not even occur in the minds of the people, even if it did, it would after a list of other suspicions were had and proven wrong. We may find it difficult to believe her disguise firstly, because we know she is not a woman, and secondly, because she does not look like a man so much. But for the soldiers? Especially those close to her and lodging with her? They are mostly new recruits, not seasoned soldiers. Even her trainers do not suspect it. Even commander was shocked to find out she was a woman. Sure, people suspect her because of her mannerisms but at most they will suspect she is a spy or a fake with someone else's name but never a woman.
