Exactly, 3 days before the wedding even if it did not happen, during those times, the FL would still be shunned in society. And even if there was no consequence for the family, it would have been devastating for anyone. At least here it was just after the engagement was announced.

Also, FL didn't have any concrete evidence here. If she killed the guy, the only evidence left would be her's…
But we also have to consider that as the villain was very high ranking, the Emperor even on knowing the truth would not have given a satisfactory justice to the FL. I am not sure but even now, was her father's honor restored? The FL may have thought that if the above would be the case it would be better for her to take revenge and die for it( since we already know, she does not mind dying and feels that she has nothing left to live for and also feels guilty for having survived when her family could not).

This is the most balanced opinion I have seen about episode 29. You criticized both of them and pointed out not…
Thank you, I was thinking a lot about this.

Title Unveil: Jadewind Spoiler
The revenge arc of Peiyi feels very similar to the revenge arc of Ling Buyi in Love Like The Galaxy. Both the characters were engaged to their respective counterparts when they implemented heir revenge.

In LLTG, Ling Buyi murdered the entire family of his "father"/uncle on his 50th birthday feast knowing that Shaosheng's whole family could be held accountable.
In UJ, Peiyi did pretty much the same. Except she did not get to kill the actual perpetrator/Right Chancellor as Huaijin stopped her.

In LLTG, people supported ML, while also feeling for the FL and supporting her breaking of the engagement. The FL was mostly angry that she was not told about it, and she was kept in the dark about her fiancé's truth and past. But she also did help him escape and spoke up for him in court.
In UJ, ML knew about her past and her desire for revenge, but stopped her before she could kill the guy.

Ling Buyi's father was a brother in arms of the Emperor and Peiyi's father was the older brother of the Emperor. So, simply bringing the evidence(which was obviously very less and not incriminating enough) to the Emperor in both cases may have different results.
In LLTG, the Emperor was very very fond of the the father and the father was also a martyr. In UJ, the father was somewhat seen as having gone mad/not victorious in wars/maybe treasonous. So, based on how the father was received in the court and his importance, the Emperor may have had to decide the punishment and also based on who he was punishing and how powerful or in control of the court they were at the time.
The Right Chancellor is a very powerful guy in the court compared to Ling Buyi's uncle and his death would create a power vacuum in the court and those with ill motives could take advantage thereby shaking the political balance. Which would not have been the case with with Ling Buyi's uncle.

Can we really say that Peiyi directly lied to him that she would not take revenge? She planned for him to remain uninvolved so that he could not be held accountable which Ling Buyi did not do. But also she was not clear with Huaijin.

And also, being obsessed with revenge and living your entire life centered around it is also not a very nice or stable solution. In this aspect, both Ling Buyi and Peiyi are not very stable characters. But they are also traumatised to the point, that they are unable to think beyond it and find no hope for a future where there is no revenge or pain. They both had people who were counting/forcing/urging them to take revenge. They were not healed enough to think about long term relationships. Also, Ling Buyi was the one who asked for the marriage in LLTG and here it was Huaijin who asked for it and as far as I have comprehended while watching, Peiyi was under house arrest and she did not know/ask Huaijin to do so.

PS: I am not taking sides, just observing the similarities and differences between the characters in different dramas.

A Post On Twitter:

Listen to how Minghao explains why Mingyi never told anyone that she was actually Mingxian.

During a Weibo live broadcast, Minghao answered fans’ questions about why Mingyi kept this secret from Ji Bozai.

First, Mingxian used to be the God of War — a proud person. How could she possibly admit to her archenemy that she was the one who was defeated?

Second, in Wuguihai, there were many plants and flowers acting as surveillance. If she carelessly mentioned it, what if someone overheard?

Third, she herself found it hard to accept the fact that she was poisoned and defeated.

Fourth, she didn’t dare to fully trust whether Ji Bozai completely believed in her — even though Ji Bozai truly trusted her.

Therefore, Mingyi couldn’t take the huge risk of putting her life in someone else’s hands. That’s why she never revealed she was Mingxian.

The character herself doesn’t have a “god’s-eye view” — only we, the audience, do. So we need to understand the reasoning and choices she made from her perspective at that moment.

Title Love in the Clouds Spoiler
He gives the potion to her secretly by adding it in her favourite scallion pancakes. She comes to know of it later…
Finally, I found someone who wants that. I also wanted it a little bit but they already changed Ji Bozai’s character a lot, so he will not mess around with other women like he did in the novel. Which is why Ming Yi also does not need to have a male harem like in the novel. She had a male harem only because she found out that Ji Bozai had married someone else for his goals despite not wanting to marry Ming Yi and promising to be hers forever. So, she was pissed that women were always expected to remain chaste whether their husband died or they were abandoned whereas men could have as many lovers as they wanted. This was why she had a harem but she never had relations with any of them rather she used the harem as an excuse to select excellent officials from unknown/poor families to serve in her court (Yaoguang Mountain in drama, Chaoyang in novel), who were previously unable to do so because of corruption amd favouritism.
