Best not on MDL - Song Lang (Vietnam) - exquisite story-telling, cinematography and music. The way it used music, and silence. Bilmemek (Turkey) - deeply affecting but difficult film; very well done. Jitters (Iceland) = coming of age, ensemble with het and gay I Love You More (Kosovo/Albania) - coming of age, touch of melodrama Coalesce (Cambodia/France) - slice of 3 lives, somewhat confusing, mostly for music & seeing Cambodia Beira Mar (Brazil) - coming of age My Partner (Hawaii + Filipino) - 1st half, more for geographic/cultural interest
Silent Sparks - gave up 36 mins - very slow and very dark and the characters aren't particularly likeable. wrong time of the year at the very least. seems fairly standard emotionally repressed + anger gangster tropes, but with a fujoshi undercurrent. or maybe that's just what a repressed gay longing gangster film looks like.
4 Days - dropped approx 30 mins, after much 1.5x and skipping through very long stretches without dialogue. Even that far into it, it was still ALL about one ML's cycle of girlfriends.
Bad to Bed - on hold 32 minutes (and will need rewatched) because brain isn't up to this right now and i think the series edit may be easier to follow, or at least leave more room to digest.
Backlight - gave up 39 minutes (only 24 left to go but an art film set in the 1970s amongst men obsessed with Mishima wasn't for me)
You can watch it in kisskh website it provides eng sub and it's free
that's a pirate site with stolen content. better to watch legally whenever possible - and we don't know yet if one31 will add subs or not. it's in our interest to watch legally too, since it shows there's an audience for lakorns with English subs. stolen content gives the creators no such feedback, let alone whatever money they might get through ads or a legal platform.
Director Wattanapume Laisuwanchai has made a public appeal to get School Town King added to Netflix.

Because it's a BL and BL fans tend to have tunnel vision. This story is very much a Pin story as it is a Saenkaew…
Right, if you know lakorns it's blazingly obvious. Oh well. I wrote a wee introduction to lakorns that I had planned to put in a discussion thread, and maybe a few might be open to learning more, but I've lost interest in setting myself up as a punching bag for those who aren't.

Exactly. You watch lakorns too, right? This is lakorn - multiple interconnected stories, some of which focus on women. Like Khun Chaai (To Sir With Love), the MM romance is just one part. Anyway, thank you for replying. The responses here have been demoralising to say the least. Which may be what some intended. LiTM's strength is how it intertwined both Pin and S&S's stories to make such a compact lakorn.
well made but there's a het male gaze/fantasy vibe to this i wasn't keen on, especially with those ending shots. directed by a woman though so maybe just that general trend in movie-making?
