Title Spare Me Your Mercy Spoiler
I saw in twitter that in the novel Dr. Kan gets a 8-year prison sentence and Wasan waits for him.
For me though, the series ends here. It has many things unsaid and open for interpretation. That is the way I like it. To end the drama where they did, imo, was perfect. As a viewer it allows me to delve into many possibilities and leaves me with raw emotions. What happened in the novel, for me, doesn't bring closure to this one. I don’t know if I am making sense, but I have been feeling so many emotions after watching the last episode! I am bracing myself to eatch the confrontation scene again. Brillaint performance and massife impact!

I can't stop thinking about this drama: the characters and the subject matter. It appears it will stay with me for a while. I hope this gets widespread viewership and recognition.

The scene between Dr. Kan and Tew's mother was serene. His combing her hair and making her ready for her next journey, he bowing to her, it was all so gentle and fragile. I love Dr. Kan's empathy and courage. What a character brilliantly portrayed by Tor. May he receives many accolades for this role.

The actine of the leads, specially Tor was brilliant. I could feel his anguish and despair! Dr. Kan was brilliantly portrayed by him. I hope he gets recognition for it.

Brilliantly ended. A very bitter-sweet feeling. Sweet because at the end its just a boy loving another boy and bitter because life catches up to them. There is no happily ever after.

This was a episode that makes you question who's right and who's wrong , if you are a patient who's suffering…
Thank you for sharing your stories. I am very sorry to hear about your loss. I hope you have found peace.
Where I come from, if a patient is terminally ill, often they are advised to go back home and let destiny take its course. There is severe lack of resources and very little to spare on people who will not come back from it. It sounds very cruel but this is the choice patients, families and the medical team are faced with every day. Many patients opt for going home themselves when they know its futile to keep fighting. Medical Euthanesia is not legal but the society largely accepts that if someone wants to pass on to the next world, they should be allowed to do so peacefully. Maybe the law will also change at some point. I guess what I am trying to say is, for many lack of resources and limited to no access to good pallialative care leave little choice for the patients and their families.

I didn't understand why Boss picked up and left the pen at the crime scene. He wanted to protect Kan.
I think that's Dr. Ran.

I am enjoying this morally gray character as a lead. You want to root for him but can't. But there is an itch somewhere, damn Dr. Kan!
I will remember Tor's amazing portrayel of Dr. Kan.

let me quote my passed dad who one said regarding a donkey that had severe painfull desease and was cured and…
Me again. Your post made me think about so many things. At one point I had to spend a lot of time watching ICU patient attendants. I saw so many had to take away their patients, either they could not afford the treatment or there was no hope in recovery. When the patients left every one knew they wont be able to make it outside the ICU. But they left none the less. What is that? Is this euthenesia chosen by the family or the patient? Or it is not as it is not assisted by the medical team. I don't know. I pray I never have to decide for anyone including myself. And if it ever comes to me, I pray I can leave with dignity and in peace.

Idk how irl but I've seen old films that farmers put down their livestock or jockey struggle to end the suffering…
This series poses very serious questions for the viewers to ponder on. Euthenesia is highly controversial and people argue passionately along both lines. Some countries allow it and some don't. Many, many years ago I watched a movie called 'Whoes life is it anyway'. It had quite an impact on me. Imo euthenesia can be legalized under certain conditions to preserve the dignity of the person if they have their full mental capacity. I do not want to start a debate here. This is merely my opinion.
In this series Dr. Kan has broken the law and he should face relevant consequences. However, I understand him. And oddly enough I understand Boss too. What I like about the series is that they made one of the lead such a debatable character. He is humane and kind but has broken some serious laws. Specially Boss, the shooting was deliberate to protect his secret and his euthenesia served Dr. Kan well. I am enjoying the series very much. I never thought of it as a BL. For me it's a medical thriller, emotional, bitter-sweet drama with a same-sex couple as leads.
