I liked the drama series when it got out and it has held a special place in my viewing memory as it was one of the first BL's I watched. However the movie, this time around didn't resonate so well. May be as a viewer my preferences have changed or something, don't know. Anyways, good luck to the team and actors for giving their best!
Up to Ep 3 and it has been poetic so far. HDS lives up to the expectations! You know a series has captured you completely when you are afraid of your protagonists getting hurt as if you can will it away. All through EP 3 I was holding my breath! The MLs have done a great job portraying innocence, vulnerability, hope and resilience. Looking forward to watching more.
-That night we lay still, holding each other tight and close. -It felt like my body existed to nestle in his. -In my arms, he felt vast like an entire universe.
Who even wrote the dialogues!!!!! Some one save me I cannot stop rewatching certain parts.
this series felt too real to the point where I started missing my ex way too much almost texted her.. queer relationships…
On the point of texting ex partners ๐ I once had this written on my phone cover 'he is your ex for a reason!! Don't Text!" Hahahahahahhahah. It was one of my good friends idea. It worked and carried me through that 'to text or not to text' phase ๐๐คฃ๐
It was absolutely PERFECT! In a long time I haven't watched anything that made me feel this satisfied. The makers and the actors did a phenomenal job! Good story, good makers, good team, good actors and good budget and you have magic on screen!!
why did it take me until ep 5 to realize that the teacher is zach lu from crossing the line ๐ญ
I spotted him at the get go. I was happy to see him grow. I was thinking about Fandy too. both of them have daughters now ๐. Life moves on, they have grown, I have grown.
A couple of months ago I've heard about this drama before its release and decided to read the novel in advance.…
I didn't read the novel so my comment is more about my own experience of novel to series/movie adaptation. In most such instances, I had better experience with the novel. So these days, I tend not to watch adaptations of novels I really liked ๐. And if I have watched the series/movie I tend not to read the novel ๐. But still to torture myself I sometimes do it and the recent example is the BL Manga Happy of the end. I read the Manga first and then followed the series. My personal history got repeated again ๐๐ญ.
I feel like my viewing experience would have been better if I watched 1 episode per week. Maybe while it was airing. It felt a tad too long and at times I was tempted to skip parts. Having said that, this series took me back to my high school days. I relived the tense moments right before getting the exam paper and even the feeling of opening the papers. It was a good trip down memory lane. The series, I felt, is more like an ongoing conversation. The exploration of teen age minds were done splendidly. Yes, you are 17 and the world is yours to conquer. Unrequited love is an instigator of change and for me it was a positive change. I identified more with Wang though. The BGM was tad too much at times. All in all the series was a gentle exploration of teenage life, authentic and relatable. I enjoyed it!
