Divorce was inevitable imo. Rarely any relationship would survive such catastrophic consequences. They were using others trusts to get what they wanted and apparently for a good cause/outcome. However in the process they showed their darkest faces to eachother. I also think neither of them had any genuine feeling for the other 2. The way both of them approached J and H with ulterior motive and used their trust for them as a weapon, no geunine feeling can blossom from that. Yes, they might feel sympathy, guilt towards J and H but that's the extent imo. So yes, the failing of the marraige was the most natural outcome of the events that unfolded.

Thank you for the article. I would have appreciated it more if there was a way of redemption for him but he had to die I guess for the realistic and dramatic ending. He was a villian with a naive heart, weak to love and loyalty. The weight of the betrayal was too heavy for him to bear. Thank you again for the post! It was good to know I was not alone thinking this way.

I agree with your interpretation of Gicheul's character. He needed punishment for sure but the path to redemption was crushed by the weight of the betrayal he received from anyone he trusted. I understood the makers choice to end his life in the most dramatic way but I would have loved to see a path to redemption. Death is definite, ultimate and this series was about showing us the worst of evil. Not how the worst of evil survives and changes. I will put the spoiler tag just in case.

Well said. I also did not find it slow but flowing effortlessly from one to the other. It is befitting to the time its representing and the build up to the story is great too. So it requires time, no? I am happy that you are enjoying this.

When this show was announced, I was expecting something epic :). I know its not good to do so cause that way one is almost always set up for disappointment. But this show is not disappointing me. I have qualms about acting of the MLs, specially Jom's. However the show has packed so much in it that I can ignore that. It is not only a love story but also a commentary on various oppressive mechanisms that existed and still exist in our societies. I also am very much enjoying the parallel universe, one slightly touching the other, the referring to the existence of the other theme. Its done well. The cinematography, color tone, BGM all are good. I hope the show gets wider viewership and is appreciated well so that the makers can keep on producing such quality stories. I never thought making garlands with your loved one can be so romantic! Kudos to the makers for finding romance in the ordinary!

No more a figment of our imagination, its coming! Though I am assuming (from what the producer said) we will only get Park Ji Hoon's character from S1 and all others will be new, both characters and stories. Yet I will be looking forward to it.

Ya, I miss the context. At the moment there are two characters existing in a void. I mean a short series can be like this but this one is 8 episodes and I would love to even get a tangential context. But the show is unique and the MLs are so so so so soooooooo good :).
