I adore the snakes and really appreciate how Chi Cheng's love for them is reflected in his unabashed adoration for Wu Suo Wei. His mother, Yue Yue and many viewers of the series respond with fear and revulsion toward the snakes, completely discounting their beauty, just as Wu Suo Wei's girlfriend completely rejected and discounted his unique charms; yet, Chi Cheng sees them and falls deeper in love with Wu Suo Wei every moment-- not despite them, but because of them. This makes my heart sing. 🥰🎶
I watch the Viki but then go to the other sites to get better subtitles. I even paid for GagaOOLala and ran into the same poor subtitles. Until the English subtitles are better produced, this is what I've been forced to resort to, as I know I'm missing important context due to the shoddy subtitles. When the subtitles improve, I'll gladly just watch it on Viki, as I want to support the efforts of the creators who've brought this show to life.
As the other commenter wrote, there was no cheating. Akira brought their relationship to an official end before…
You've admitted that you're lacking in attention span, reading comprehension and emotional maturity, which you proved with one cringeworthy and lazily written response.
I finally got the time to watch it. I watched it with my husband. He liked it more than I did, once again. I just…
As the other commenter wrote, there was no cheating. Akira brought their relationship to an official end before he entered into a relationship and Yuki tried to have a dalliance with another man.
Also, Yuki didn't "forgive" Akira. He confessed to him, "It's impossible for me.... I tried so many times to give up.... I really tried, so many times. I tried so many times to give up on you, but it was impossible! I couldn't do it this whole time. I thought that I could put an end to it, so I came here [Alaska] and tried to forget about you, Akira."
Yuki had always been the braver and more emotionally honest of the two. He never lied to himself, hid the depth of his love for Akira, nor pretended with his mother. By the time he and Akira ran into each other years later in Alaska, he'd already accepted the truth that he couldn't live a happy life without Akira. Drawing out a protracted mea culpa from Akira just to punish Akira for ending their relationship years before would have been emotionally dishonest and, essentially, Yuki punishing himself simply to hurt Akira for hurting him. The truth had already been felt by the both of them: neither could live happily without the other, as the love they felt for each other was too profound. He was unhappy without Akira. Akira was unhappy without him. I'm very proud of the Yuki character for being too emotionally mature to pretend otherwise simply to save face.
Therefore, Yuki didn't forgive Akira. He accepted the truth without ego games which allowed them, in the end, to proceed with living a long and joyful life together and being eternally bound together after death.
I just learned that Chi Cheng's nickname for Suo Wei, which is Da Bao, translates to "big bun". Bwahahahahahaa Considering Chi Cheng's obsession with Suo Wei's butt, this is extra hilarious!!! 🤣🤣

Started watching this yesterday and I'm fully on team Go Home Victor! Seriously whose insane idea was it to introduce…
Nankrai is beautiful, yes, but he's not suited to be TK's life partner. He has no desire to travel, no true desire for anything except TK's love, while TK longs to see the world, he's enthused by meeting strangers and he's open to a life outside the town he's spent his life in. Their core personalities are too disparate to make for a happy life together.
I loved the interaction between TK and Victor in Ep 2. It actually felt like I was watching two real people navigating…
I enjoyed episode 2 more than episode 1. The natural pace of the bonding between Tontae and Victor was so sweet. I found myself smiling from ear to ear, because it was so human. Not played from drama, just two lovely humans beginning the process of falling in love.
I also thought of the series Secrets Happened on the Litchi Island, which has a similar vibe as this series.
yall is this good people have been saying it's bad
I like it. I have to wade through the subtitles, but depending on the site, there are some subtitles that are comparable to some of the so-so subtitles that are common in Thai releases.
Overall, the acting is great (despite what others have claimed), the scenery is beautiful and the pace is exactly what I expected this type of series to delivery. Yes, some of the support characters are acting for laughs, but this is typical with a lot of Thai projects, so.... I just roll with it. The main actors are doing a beautiful job.
am i the only one who actually likes this series, likes victor and tontae together, and liked ep 2? don't get…
I love it so far and I also prefer Tontae and Victor together. Nankrai is clearly in love with Tontae, but from what the series has shown in 2 episodes, that love may be based on lust and familiarity than true affinity. I'm no saying it definitely is, but the signs are there, especially when Nankrai escapes into his fantasies about Tontae.
Conversely, Victor and Tontae's personalities are in accord and their core yearnings are similar-- growing and gathering life experiences from seeing and engaging with the wider world through travel. Nankrai's already revealed he's quite content with a simple life and doesn't see a need to ever leave the small community he's grown up in.
The actor, Hsia En, who portrays Victor, is a twin. The other twin, Hsia Te, is slated to also appear in this…
One of the posters for I Promise I Will Come Back shows the character of Tontae nestled together with both Victor and his twin, San Lian, and they're both staring lovingly at Tontae, so.... something is in the works OR the poster is just meant to drum up more interest, as a lot of fans love Hsia En and Hsia Te together.
Interesting series so far... I'm liking it. It's pace is slow and easy, matching the atmosphere of small town…
I'm worried that something ends up happening to Victor and his twin, San Lian, is the one who ends up returning to Tontae. This would explain the poster that shows Tontae, Victor and San Lian.

EPISODE 1 & 2 - Here's what I gathered
NanKrai is head-over-heels in love with Tontae, but has held back from showing this to Tontae. Maybe this is due to them living in a small conservative community, but NanKrai has to get a move on it, as he's having some pretty steamy fantasies about Tontae already.
Tontae has dreams of expanding his life beyond the small community he grew up in, while NanKrai doesn't. This is the first sign that any possible relationship between them would end up being problematic, as they have core differences. Tontae is sweet and generous, to humans and animals alike. He's a catch, no matter who he ends up with as a partner.
Tontae and Victor have such sweet chemistry. They're adorable and hilarious together! 🥰 Tontae's struggle with English is amusing, as is Victor's struggle with saying Tontae's name. Their attraction is based on affinity (they immediately like each other and have similarities of personalities), not just physical attraction or having grown up with each other, as with NanKrai's attachment to Tontae. While NanKrai is having sexual fantasies about Tontae, Victor is falling in love with Tontae's playful, generous and curious nature.
I don't know who Tontae will end up with, but my vote is for Victor, as they're more suited to each other, beyond the levels of physical attraction. A beautiful and stable life partnership requires more than the physical.
Also, curiously, it seems Somo, the woman who likes NanKrai, obviously has a female friend, Dream, who likes her, but she's completely blind to this.
I pity your husband.
