Noooo.... I was really looking forward to this series, but it's a hot mess, and not in a, "It's so bad, it's good," but in a, "Get me the frick off this crappy directing, cinematography, writing, soundtrack, and questionable to terrible acting ride."

The cynical use of the NC scenes, as a way to keep audience engagement, while everything else is absolutely trash, is annoying I can watch p*rn to get my jollies off, instead of suffering through this.

Dropping.

Ah! That was easy. Thank you, dear internet stranger!

Thank you for writing that response to @etoks21 so I don't have to. They're evidently a handful-- as for why that is, I'll refrain from speculating. What I will do is end any further dialogue with them.

That's an interesting viewpoint.

Question:
Have you ever been in the presence of someone this deeply traumatized and emotionally paralyzed?

As someone who works with these type of individuals, I can attest to there being what appears to be zero light in their eyes. It can be eerie-- at times, even creepy. It's also one of the first things I look for, not only to determine their level of trauma, but how much work the patient and I have to do to pull them out of the abyss they're living in.

Most actors can't pull this off, because, like you, they hold on to the belief that there should be something to give away their emotional reality to the audience, so the audience knows they're able to act. By doing this, they fail to convey the utter desolation that led to the character's emotional paralysis.

Does anyone know the precise meaning of the word THEEMEKA (Jay calls Sun this in episode 8)? I know what Theerak means. Are they similar?

Episode 5:Through five episodes, Min Thanakorn as Sun has worn exactly ONE expression on his face.He reminds me…
He is playing the character EXACTLY as depicted in the manhwa. In fact, he's injecting a bit more emotions, if you can believe it. His character just isn't sullen, he's emotionally numb from trauma-- operating as close to a machine as a human can get.

While watching episode 10, I caught myself laughing because of how adorable Progress acts the character of Ko Neung whenever he and Ko Song are alone. For such young actors, they have incredibly natural and smooth chemistry-- not something that can be faked.

Hopefully, Progress and Almond are genuine friends and will continue to work together in the future, because, on screen, they have something special.

Seriously, I don't know why this series has such a high rating! I was bored to death. I didn't see any chemistry…
I watched most of the series on 2x speed, and preferred the 2nd couple to the main leads. So, I get you.

Cute faces couldn't lift this sinking ship of a terrible script and wooden acting. Eventually finished, on 2x speed, after dropping series multiple times. Sometimes, it really sucks being a completionist.

How does one block these annoying accounts?
Sweet relief!!! Thank you! Seeing those comments were growing tired, fast.

It's not that someone doesn't have the right to an opinion, but they were spamming and just writing the same thing over and and over again, that it was turning into annoying garbage.

I disagree with your opinion, regarding the dynamic of the intimacy in the scene. For the characters Sun and Pat, it's in accord with the dynamic of the emotional intimacy that was established between them in the series, which is subtly different than the characters' dynamic in the manhwa.

While I disagree with your opinion, I respect it.

I beg to disagree and I have to wonder if you and I read the same manhwa.

This scene in the manhwa was animalistic and borderline brutal in its intensity. The scene in this series is far more tasteful and intimate, without going completely into porno vibes, as the manhwa does.

not that I'm complaining but i feel like the NC scene could've been filmed much more intimate with less nudity..…
That scene was very tame compared to the manhwa. From experience, I can confirm that physical intimacy, when combined with s*x and desperation, is rarely tame and covered, strategically, by sheets placed artfully. Considering that these were two grown men, in the prime of their lives (and not high-school/college-aged boys), this scene was tastefully done.. If they'd tried to make it a PG version, it would have been silly and very out of sync with the overall vibe of the series.

if you watch their live replay from 2 days after last ep aired you will understand. They said xu yuan's wish came…
The series failed, badly, to convey that a wish was made and everything worked out at the end. They can say whatever they want, after the fact, and it's irrelevant. For everyone who watched the series and didn't follow-up with some live replay, then the director and writer dropped the ball and messed up royally.

maybe its cuz the translation is by AI?
Boat and Oat tried, but not very hard, except for the NC scenes. And, yes, effort went into the show, but it really wasn't enough. ABO Desire had it's issues, but in comparison to this, it's award worthy. 😅

maybe its cuz the translation is by AI?
Their efforts primarily being invested in the NC scenes is part of the problem. They know that their audience is tuning in for those scenes and will forgive everything else, so why do they need to bother to make an overall good series? It's cynical-- callously calculating.
