In fact, what Song Ran should have done was listen to both sides of the story. Both of them were carrying guilt,…
I completely agree with you. They needed something else other than their own bubble of trauma to make them realize that they needed to open up to one another. And she needed to realize that guilt was also an emotion which is where Mr. L came in and he did a great job setting her straight. Her transposing and her feeling guilty about the past to latch onto this kid without really looking at every single angle was absolutely the wrong thing to do. But it in a way was understandable given the fact of her own trauma she put the pieces together and found out the truth. He was very even kilter the entire time and knew what he was talking about. I’m actually very surprised given all of his own personal problems with emotions and PTSD that he was able to see things clearly and not have a clouded judgment as she blamed him for which was part of her transposing.

Continuing with episode 16 I’m very glad that both got to the truth and that she apologized to him, though he started to apologize to her for reasons I don’t even know why. As he did absolutely nothing wrong. He told her the truth it was she who failed to listen. And I’m so glad about the talk toward the end where they opened up to each other about what was really going on at least a little bit but the fact that he told her that he has PTSD I really hope that she now starts helping him heal not just the other way around. Very hard episode 16 to watch definitely feel like the show brings out the tissue box a lot but the actors absolutely nailed it.

Yeah, I’m watching 16 now and slowly putting my thoughts up for both episodes. One is already up and the other one is I think only halfway. I do hope that as the episodes progress it’s not just him trying to pull her out of her depression/PTSD but her also starting to pull him out of it. Because if he’s the only one doing things for her, he’s not going to be healing himself at all.

Great summary and you captured exactly why I was so frustrated with SR in that episode!
I also started my episode 16 thought process as well.

The thing that gets me the most in 16 other than her father and his wife being completely oblivious to mental trauma, acting like she should do stuff for them; is her conversation with LZ in the tunnel. Very clearly she doesn’t hear a word he says, and instead projects her own feelings and emotions onto him; lashing out at him. “Don’t let your feelings for JL cloud your judgement?” (Reality; whose judgement is clouded?) “Don’t view JY through a distorted lens.” (Reality: who’s viewing Wang Han through a distorted lens?), “The pain of JL’s death isn’t something WH has to carry.” (Reality; neither JY nor LZ should carry that burden but they do). While he’s being the voice of reason, she’s being the voice of hurt towards others. In psychological terms, this is called transposing your own feelings onto someone else. And it’s an absolutely classic example here. It’s painful and hurtful and I feel for him; want to give him a hug. I feel that he’s putting more of himself out there to be hurt than she is. He had every right to walk away from her after telling her that he didn’t expect that that was how she saw him. You could also see her kind of deflated afterwards, but I think she needed to hear and feel that. Even after their argument, he’s the one who went to find her first not the other way around. Even though she was in the wrong.

But I’m very grateful to Mr. L for essentially setting her straight and being like “well aren’t you guilty of the same stuff you are claiming LZ is? Trying to help someone out of guilt without getting the entire story from all sides?” This guy is solid gold.

Well, actually technically, this isn’t a romance drama, though it does have romance in it. It’s just one of…
There was a very short lived triangle, but like I said, this isn’t a romance drama so that moved away fairly quickly.

Ep 15 - Song Ran kept asking why no one understood her, and I guess I don't as well. I get that she is in a vulnerable…
I’ve just posted up my opinion of 15.

My reaction to episode 15 as promised: Yes she unleashed a hornets nest but she and JY were set up. When the video was first uploaded, why didn’t anyone wonder who was filming it? That’s very convenient to leave out. Yes she was totally tunnel vision focused on getting justice for this kid without really looking at the other side of things; or all things really. So I do not condone that one bit she absolutely failed her job as a journalist. That said as soon as she started reading the journal, she started to get flashbacks of Eastern country so we know that, even though she had as she thought the best intentions at heart she was doing it with a damaged brain. In her head, everyone else was wrong, but only her portion of it was right. And it wasn’t until episode 16–which I will talk about after I watch it again a little bit more in depth— that she actually questioned the victim the way he should’ve been questioned from the start and got the truth. Though it didn’t show it in episode 16, I hope she writes an apology to JY for her comment and tells the truth about who the bullies really were and what not.

I came here to catch up… but maybe I shouldn’t have. The negativity in here is overwhelming and I honestly…
You can’t please everyone unfortunately, and people will always complain about everything. That said this drama is a heavy one, but it also has its light and wonderful touches that brings a smile to your face. So it makes you cry and it makes you smile. Can it be better of course it can be but perfect dramas are rare.

I watched 16 at 8 AM so I’m re-watching now. I don’t remember that scene but that’s good though 15 looks like a mess thanks to her one-sided meddling.

To be honest people complain to much. I don't know what they expected from a romance drama. For me the scriptwriting…
Well, actually technically, this isn’t a romance drama, though it does have romance in it. It’s just one of the focal points, but not the main one.

You forgot to mention the "jumping off the cliff and surviving" scene. 🤣🤣🤣
Those are so common nowadays I don’t think they should even be mentioned lol.

Just because those clips are out, doesn’t necessarily mean they made the final cut. If that is what happens…
Thanks.

What I’m looking forward to.
