He has many regrets, of course because he always said he was responsible for his own life, but captain Lin said “well I’m responsible for everyone in my platoon” so they both kind of had the same thought process and in reality it ended up being tragic. It was already a very dangerous situation plus you didn’t just have the explosive element, but you had rebels shooting so you had a lot going on in one small area. One or the other or maybe both could’ve died that day.

I don’t think you should let one kiss determine your entire outlook on the story. OK they kissed move onto the next thing. This is a whole story and it’s a pretty powerful one and it’s already very deep so let’s keep watching and see what happens.

Survivors guilt is a very powerful thing and it’s not just when it comes to combat zones like people post 9/11 that survived the world trade center collapse while many of their colleagues didn’t also had survivors guilt. Like “why wasn’t it me? It should’ve been me.” That’s what you hear; those people are dealing with survivors guilt. Yes his friend as captain made the choice to rush in and grab the bomb out of his reach and push him away and that was his choice but for LZ because this was his friend and this was his job to him it was it was “it should’ve been me.” Hence the term “survivors guilt.”

I thought their first kiss was cute. Granted the whole pot falling thing was a little strange. But afterwards, writing his name on the windowsill and going back to when she wrote it in the sand in the heart there was a lot of meaning to it and her realizing that he had seen it originally was also very cute. Let me tell you when it comes to human beings. You can offend them by breathing so don’t worry about it. Everyone is entitled to their opinion that’s how I feel about it anyways as long as you don’t bash anyone or say something hurtful toward another commentator, I think you should be fine.

That may be a plot hole actually because I myself don’t remember who told her or when.

I will have to disagree with you in regards to the romance being flat because it has been building since the very first day they met, but obviously it’s something on a different level and meant more for healing than your typical romance drama. I personally never understand why they put these heavy deep type of dramas into their love on series because that’s not necessarily what the drama is about. But beauty of the comment section as we can agree to disagree and no drama is perfect. But for me personally I think this drama is already pretty well written for the heavier, moments and character/actor reactions to their mental states. Could it have been written better a bit of course. But as long as people get the message of the story that’s the most important part.

Because they have been going toward that point for a long time. That’s why they didn’t get together so quickly they went through this entire process of slowly getting to know each other and being in this other place and going through this trauma and opening up to each other and now they are finally at a place where they can be close in that way, and feel comfortable with each other in that way. It’s beautiful to watch.

One does. You can have depression that’s not constant and you can have PTSD that’s not constant however, if you purposely go into situations or towards triggers that can cause either you’re setting yourself up for failure.

Ridiculous. But I’m glad that TJR won’t be collecting mail in these long hours for hopefully not too long. I don’t want the next two months to be 20 hour days a day. I also don’t want him to continue playing mailman.

What I want to try to remind people for the nth time is that this isn’t primarily a romance drama. If that’s why you’re here then maybe this is not the show for you. This is about how people deal with war zone situations and how their lives are irreparably changed after some pretty tragic events. Yes, romance is part of it and it is a healing factor, but it is not the main factor. So if you find the show boring because it does not have enough romance or the romance is moving too fast for you or something of that nature then please find another show. This is more of a bringing awareness to mental health and the proper or improper way to handle severe PTSD/survivors guilt and depression. It’s a very layered show with good parenting and bad parenting, lifelong friends and losing them in horrible situations and then dealing with the aftermath of many things, falling in love and that love healing both parties, but is it enough? And what happens when people make decisions that endanger their lives or their mental states as opposed to healing them?

He’s really not taking care of himself as he should. He should be in long-term therapy and intensive therapy to boot. He needs to be on medication and he needs to be around constant support.

Originally, she also had PTSD it warped into depression, which can happen. But with what he has it’s a lot different because not only does he have PTSD, but he also has survivors guilt. So even if he goes back, he’s going to be faced with the same situations, if not worse, we don’t know And how is he going to deal with that. He can barely deal with it at home. Usually when it comes to combat PTSD doctors tell patients to stay away not return (those same patients are usually discharged from the military because they are no longer able mentally and psychologically to function in that same environment. Since he’s a volunteer engineer, the company he works for should be able to somehow prevent him from going, but I guess it doesn’t work that way over there); to go to group therapy. There’s medication, there’s individual therapy, but they never say go back to a war zone. I’m fearful that what will happen there will push him over the edge in the wrong direction. But again, I don’t know how far they deviated from what the original novel readers said so he may still come back and not do what I’m so afraid he will.

I think that’s how they planned it out beforehand that if his boat was there, that was the only way she could survive.

Has anyone gone home yet?

My greatest fear is his decision to return to Eastern country. He may think he can handle it but it’s the total opposite. He should stay away from that place. Work through his problems at home.
