I agree with you. I'd like to see her next project as one breakthrough that will catapult her to the next level.…
After this I want to see her in a drama with: Good screenwriter Good director Good main male lead
I think Liu Yu Ning performance improved in The Prisoner Of Beauty and his chemistry with Song Zu Er is good so I hope whoever her next main male lead will be, at least he has good acting skill.
She's rumored for Biao Mei Wan Fu with Chen Xin Hai https://www.novelupdates.com/series/wishing-you-eternal-happiness/…
Chen Xin Hai? Is it confirmed?
Well, I watched Chen Xin Hai as main male lead in modern romance drama Falling Before Fireworks and even he was born in 2002, he has matured face, quite good looking and can act. https://kisskh.at/716895-zui-shi-ren-jian-yan-huo-se
But I'm hoping she will play in another drama with more challenging character because from synopsis of the novel, it seem married first, fall in love later theme again and the author of the novel is the same as novel The Prisoner Of Beauty.
I hope the drama script for her next drama is good because even if the original novel is quite mediocre or kind of cliche, good screenwriter and director are main reason the drama can turn to be quite enjoyable. I don't want Song Zu Er performance get wasted in a bad drama.
Oh My! Oh My! Oh My! My Song Zu Er will act in costume romance drama with one of my favourite Chinese Gen Z actor, Chen Xin Hai?! https://kisskh.at/people/83319-chen-xin-hai
My top Chinese Gen Z Chinese is Wang Xing Yue because not only he can act he also can dubbing for his characters but he filming Love In Red Dust with Xu Ruo Han right now.
But I realized her first project drama after her hiatus is adapted from the novel that written by Peng Lai Ke, the same author of novel for drama The Prisoner Of Beauty and based on the synopsis of novel, it also have "marriage first, fall in love later" theme huh https://wiki.d-addicts.com/Peng_Lai_Ke
To me, no matter how cliche the plot for a romance drama is, if the screenwriter & the director are good, then the drama still can turn out to be enjoyable.
I don't know how many screenwriter this drama have but when I search for the previous dramas of the listed screenwriter for this drama, Yang Tao, they are kinda meh? https://kisskh.at/people/54921-yang-tao I only enjoyed Princess Agents (2017) with Zhao Li Ying & Lin Geng Xin although the ending annoyed me LOL https://kisskh.at/19464-princess-agents
Korean costume drama is dubbed? You mean this drama get dubbed from Korea to English?Because this is not like Chinese…
Oh I though Korean dubbed this drama just like Chinese costume dramas.
Why would Netflix did this though.
I watch many Chinese & Korean, little bit of Thailand & Japanese costume dramas in their own languages with English subtitles just fine even at first I take time to familiarise myself with them.
For me, original languages are forever superior compared to dubbing to other languages even in English.
You mean this drama get dubbed from Korea to English?
Because this is not like Chinese costume dramas that have many dialect for many different ethnics in China and they dubbed for correct pronunciation or noisy filming so why would a Korean costume drama need dubbing?
Main reason I want to watch this drama is because it is from the original script, not adapted from any novel.
I still watch Chinese dramas that are adapted from novels but it little bit more fun when watching on going dramas from original scripts because I could get some excitement guessing the stories although we all know it hard to avoid spoilers for Chinese dramas since they get spoiled through social media from China like Douyin, Weibo, Xiaohongshu, or from international social media like X, Tik Tok, Instagram LOL
But to be honest, I have low expectation for happy ending for main couple in this dramas because:
Firstly, this drama was set in era of Republic Of China (ROC) (1912 - 1949) aka tragedy era since it's timeline was during World War II & Civil War in China so although not all, many dramas set in this era will get sad ending or open ending LOL
When I use Google Translate to understand the Chinese netizen comments about the tragic ending for their Republican Era dramas, they always mentioned, "Nine out of ten love stories in the Republic of China are tragic"
But if this drama really filming for just 30 episodes and not 40 episodes, maybe Youku wouldn't cut it out but we don't know either whether Guo Jing Ming will pull the same ending for the main couple of this drama just like he did to his previous dramas huhu
Another Youku new policy: First shoot a preview episode, and then shoot a 10-minute pilot preview short film. The plan is to select and train new directors, and the artists will be coordinated by Alibaba Entertainment Agency, but whether the project can pass the review is another matter. In addition, if the preview episode is well shot, it is still unknown whether the main creators will have the opportunity to officially join the project. https://x.com/ultra_melons/status/1914932869069521253 https://x.com/kpopsmileshop1/status/1915055792514039965
As per my understanding, the rumors for one of Youku and Iqiyi new policy for the episodes of their new dramas are like these:
Youku: Original script: Will be cut down to 12 episodes - 16 episodes with 1 hour for each episode High budgeted drama project, labelled as S+, can be split to 2 seasons but the airing of the season 2 depends on the performance of season 1 Novels adaptation: Will be cut down to 36 episodes (?)
Iqiyi: All dramas will be cut down to maximum 36 episodes
So later we will see many new costumes dramas produced by Iqiyi and Youku especially that were adapted from novels will be just 30/32/36 episodes?
When I read news about some of new Chinese costume dramas that produced for Youku and Iqiyi will be filming or currently filming in 2025 have 40 episodes, I keep thinking about how the plot for those dramas will feel kinda mess up and bring confusion to audiences since 4 of their episodes will get cut out. That's annoyed me so much LOL
I don't encounter any similar rumor for Tencent or MangoTv new policy like this but I'm not surprised if they will implement similar new policy like Youku and Iqiyi later.
But if I'm getting some wrong understanding about all of these, please feel free to correct me.
Still, I really hope that at least they will air this drama before Youku implemented their new policy! Please!
List of some Chinese dramas that still not airing yet that I know they are from original scripts, they are not adapted from any novels and are not remakes or spin off from any another dramas, movies or short stories.
1) Costumes: *xianxia, xuanhuan: fantasy with elements like magic, demon, immortal, fairy *historical: not historically accurate but no elements like magic, demon, immortal, fairy
2) Republican Era (1912 - 1949) *Began in 1912 with the end of the Qing dynasty, when the Xinhai Revolution and the formation of the Republic of China (ROC) put an end to 2,000 years of imperial rule *Ended in 1949 when the KMT-led government was defeated in the Chinese Civil War and lost control of the mainland to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
If anyone know other Chinese dramas with original scripts that still not air yet, please share with me. It doesn't matter if they are costume, republican or modern genre. As long as there are romance between main couple even it is not the main genre LOL

But to be honest, I have low expectation for this dramas because this was produced by Yu Zheng that famously known to cut out the main couple scenes to promote lesser popular casts from his company, Huanyu Film, in his dramas. Bai Lu is also one of actress under Huanyu Film. https://kisskh.at/people/19266-yu-zheng https://wiki.d-addicts.com/Yu_Zheng
Then I read what Iqiyi did to another costume drama, The Demon's Hunter Romance (2025) with Song Zu Er & Ren Jia Lun.
Iqiyi changed the ending of that drama from Happy Ending to Open Ending after consulting AI analysis! The screenwriter also said that the original script for the ending was HE but was rejected. https://x.com/Allcbizmelons/status/1916121304115404910
Not only that, one of the screenwriter of this drama, Xiao Xiang Dong Er, formerly known as Zhao Na is also the screenwriter for drama The Demon's Hunter Romance T_T https://kisskh.at/people/36821-xiao-xiang-dong-er
I read comment on X mentioned that majority of her previous dramas are sad ending/ambiguous open ending?! Both of these dramas had open ending sheesh A Moment But Forever (2025) (Tang Yan & Liu Xue Yi) https://kisskh.at/746371-tian-xia-wu-shuang The Demon's Hunter Romance (2025) (Song Zu Er & Ren Jia Lun) https://kisskh.at/63991-wu-you-du
I'm also hoping they wouldn't cut any episodes because of Iqiyi new policy since it rumored they lost some profit and want to cut episodes to maximum 36 episodes to avoid losses or something like that. https://x.com/yueyawans/status/1916802595978387552
But if this drama really filming for just 32 episodes and not 40 episodes, maybe Iqiyi wouldn't cut out but hopefully they wouldn't messing with the ending LOL Well, we don't know either whether Yu Zheng will pull the same editing for the main couple of this drama just like he did to his previous dramas huhu

The plot also sound fun! 《Watch a powerful female CEO from the ancient business world rescue a male Cinderella, break through class boundaries to reshape the rules, grow through adversity, and reach the pinnacle of life together!》 Female CEO & Male Cinderella ahaha \^0^/

A fan mentioned about possibility of Liu Yu Ning another costume drama with Song Zu Er, The Prisoner Of Beauty that got shelved because of her alleged tax evasion case to be on air in 2025 since she already proved innocent of the tax evasion case and one of her previous shelved drama, The Demon Hunter's Romance with Ren Jia Lun get to airing but instead Liu Yu Ning mentioned that it is A Dream Within A Dream that will air soon. (the hashtag says TPOB will air soon) #LiuYuning: I really didn't say that. to those of you who just came in from the hashtag, I did not say that today. even last livestream, I said my dramas that will air soon are #ADreamWithinADream and my modern drama. I didn't say that! https://x.com/fandoestrans/status/1911417651051589879

Hoping the makeup and styling will help like how it did for Neo. 😆
Chen Du Ling was born in 1993 while Hou Ming Hao was born in 1997 so they only have 4 years age difference.
Zhou Yi Ran and Chen Du Ling have 7 years age difference since he was born in 2000 but as I mentioned before, I don't care about couple age gap in romance genre as long as they are adult casts in real life. But Zhou Yi Ran has strong baby face feature to play as a general main male lead in costume drama *sighhhhh*
Director Yang Long from drama The Glory that also will be director for drama Chu Chao has met with Zhou Yi Ran so it has high possibility that Zhou Yi Ran will be main male lead in this Chen Du Ling next costume drama. https://x.com/FKShi/status/1913504674889732546
Sighhhhhhhhhh......
Why this director choose an actor with strong baby face feature to play as a general of the country in this costume drama when my beloved Chen Du Ling is the main female lead?!
There are many actors in China that has matured face that suitable to be a general. It's not like there no actors with mature face and willing to play as main male lead in female-centered costume drama T_T
Based on the rumor right now, the main male lead for Chen Du Ling next costume drama will be actor Zhou Yi Ran?https://x.com/Allcbizmelons/status/1912818714820661374Some…
To be clear, I don't care about age gap between couple in romance drama & can enjoy their romantic skinship whether costume or modern if they have chemistry as long they are played by adults casts in real life.
One of my favourite couple in costume romance drama, The Double, played by Wang Xing Yue who was born in 2002 as main male lead and Wu Jin Yan who was born in 1990 as main female lead. I absolutely had no problem with that since Wang Xing Yue doesn't has too baby face feature and has charisma as an actor to play as an adult main male lead. https://kisskh.at/736749-di-jia-qian-jin https://youtu.be/JwGg2isI4ek?si=5wfYo2_FOtS9z8me
Reasons I feel Zhou Yi Ran not suitable as Chen Du Ling's main male lead in this drama: 1) Look at main male lead characters in this drama plot: A small soldier of the imperial army to a general of the country.
2) Look at main actor & main actress appearances: He has a quite baby faced to be a general of the country and Chen Du Ling's main male lead.
If Zhou Yi Ran get pair with Chen Du Ling in a drama where his character is not as someone who need to be kind of more matured, like a general, then I have no problem but this drama, NO.
I don't care if main actor is much more younger in age than Chen Du Ling or even younger than Zhou Yi Ran either in real life as long he doesn't has too baby face feature because he character will be a general in here.
Let me give some suggestion for some Chinese actors that could play as main male lead and pair as main male lead with Chen Du Ling in this drama:
They may not popular as actors right now, but at least they are much more suitable as actors to play general in this drama so please, I hope the director choose another actor as main male lead in this drama! PLEASEEE!!! Pleaseee T_T
Based on the rumor right now, the main male lead for Chen Du Ling next costume drama will be actor Zhou Yi Ran?https://x.com/Allcbizmelons/status/1912818714820661374Some…
Plot summary for Queen Chu:
The general's daughter Chu Chao (to be played by Chen Du Ling) changed her tragic fate of becoming a victim of the Chu prince, Xiao Xun's power grab, and found that taking the initiative was the only way to change her fate.
In the twists and turns of the fight against fate, she met Xie Yan Lai, the illegitimate son of the Xie family, and lit up Xie Yan Lai's originally gloomy life, helping him break free from the shackles of fate, and grow from a small soldier of the imperial army to a general of the country.
Chu Chao and Xie Yan Lai worked together to sucessfully stop Xiao Xun's ambitions and plans. Chu Chao then returned to the capital to act as regent to the little emperor, Xiao Yu.
However, when Xiao Xun become adult and took power, he invited foreign enemies to invade, and for the sake of power, he did not hesitate to put the people in danger. Chu Chao once again joined hands with Xie Yan Lai to defend the country and the people.
For me, his acting skill as an actor in that drama is fine, not the best actor but not the worst actor either because I have seen actors with more bad acting skills.
If Zhou Yi Ran (born in 2000) get pair with Chen Du Ling (born in 1993) in a drama where his character is not as a general then I will feel like, ok, let's see how the drama will turn out to be but if it this drama, sorry, but I strongly feel that THEY WILL NOT MATCH.
The main male lead need to be an actor that kind of more matured so Zhou Yi Ran is not suitable as a main male lead who is a general with Chen Du Ling in here.
If you want to know some info about the novel of this drama, you can read the summary that I put in spoiler below.
I'm still at earlier chapter of this novel because I'm really busy this month but I will find time to finish it because I'm interested in Chen Du Ling next role.
For me, his acting skill as an actor in that drama is fine, not the best actor but not the worst actor either because I have seen actors with more bad acting skills.
But, to be honest, in my opinion, if Zhou Yi Ran (born in 2000) really get paired as main male lead with Chen Du Ling (born in 1993) as main female lead in this drama, BOTH OF THEM WILL NOT MATCH.
2) Look at main actor & main actress appearances: He has a quite baby faced to be a general of the country and to be pair with Chen Du Ling.
I don't care if main actor is much more younger in age than Chen Du Ling in real life as long he doesn't has too baby face feature since he will be a general in here, please.
Good screenwriter
Good director
Good main male lead
I think Liu Yu Ning performance improved in The Prisoner Of Beauty and his chemistry with Song Zu Er is good so I hope whoever her next main male lead will be, at least he has good acting skill.
Well, I watched Chen Xin Hai as main male lead in modern romance drama Falling Before Fireworks and even he was born in 2002, he has matured face, quite good looking and can act.
https://kisskh.at/716895-zui-shi-ren-jian-yan-huo-se
But I read rumour on X that it change to Zhai Zi Lu.
https://x.com/FKShi/status/1923783629781729777
Zhai Zi Lu also can act as I watched him in Lost Track Of Time.
https://kisskh.at/711585-fu-liu-nian
Just want to know who real main male lead will be?
But I'm hoping she will play in another drama with more challenging character because from synopsis of the novel, it seem married first, fall in love later theme again and the author of the novel is the same as novel The Prisoner Of Beauty.
I hope the drama script for her next drama is good because even if the original novel is quite mediocre or kind of cliche, good screenwriter and director are main reason the drama can turn to be quite enjoyable. I don't want Song Zu Er performance get wasted in a bad drama.

My Song Zu Er will act in costume romance drama with one of my favourite Chinese Gen Z actor, Chen Xin Hai?!
https://kisskh.at/people/83319-chen-xin-hai
I like Chen Xin Hai since his modern drama Falling Before Fireworks (2023) with Lu Yang Yang.
https://kisskh.at/716895-zui-shi-ren-jian-yan-huo-se
My top Chinese Gen Z Chinese is Wang Xing Yue because not only he can act he also can dubbing for his characters but he filming Love In Red Dust with Xu Ruo Han right now.
But I realized her first project drama after her hiatus is adapted from the novel that written by Peng Lai Ke, the same author of novel for drama The Prisoner Of Beauty and based on the synopsis of novel, it also have "marriage first, fall in love later" theme huh
https://wiki.d-addicts.com/Peng_Lai_Ke
To me, no matter how cliche the plot for a romance drama is, if the screenwriter & the director are good, then the drama still can turn out to be enjoyable.
I don't know how many screenwriter this drama have but when I search for the previous dramas of the listed screenwriter for this drama, Yang Tao, they are kinda meh?
https://kisskh.at/people/54921-yang-tao
I only enjoyed Princess Agents (2017) with Zhao Li Ying & Lin Geng Xin although the ending annoyed me LOL
https://kisskh.at/19464-princess-agents
And from the previous drama of this drama director, Liu Gao Nan,
https://kisskh.at/people/52067-liu-guo-nan
I enjoyed Are You The One (2024) with Wang Chu Ran & Zhang Wan Yi.
https://kisskh.at/699401-jiao-cang
I hope they have 2 options to watch this drama, original languages with English subtitles or dubbed to English.
For me, original languages are forever superior compared to dubbing to other languages even in English.
Secondly, this drama was produced by Guo Jing Ming that famously known for his not happy ending in dramas T_T
https://kisskh.at/people/35399-guo-jing-ming
https://wiki.d-addicts.com/Guo_Jing_Ming
I'm also hoping they wouldn't cut any episodes because of Youku new policy since it rumored they lost some profit and want to cut episodes to maximum 36 episodes (?) for their dramas that will air in 2026(?) to avoid losses or something like that.
https://x.com/eaturmelon/status/1878866217374773263
https://x.com/rosyholp/status/1895302771286646947
https://x.com/eaturmelon/status/1895435843290255479
But if this drama really filming for just 30 episodes and not 40 episodes, maybe Youku wouldn't cut it out but we don't know either whether Guo Jing Ming will pull the same ending for the main couple of this drama just like he did to his previous dramas huhu
Another Youku new policy:
First shoot a preview episode, and then shoot a 10-minute pilot preview short film. The plan is to select and train new directors, and the artists will be coordinated by Alibaba Entertainment Agency, but whether the project can pass the review is another matter.
In addition, if the preview episode is well shot, it is still unknown whether the main creators will have the opportunity to officially join the project.

https://x.com/kpopsmileshop1/status/1915055792514039965
I also read similar rumor about Iqiyi new policy that will cut down episodes for their dramas to avoid losses:
https://x.com/yueyawans/status/1916802595978387552
As per my understanding, the rumors for one of Youku and Iqiyi new policy for the episodes of their new dramas are like these:
Youku:
Original script:
Will be cut down to 12 episodes - 16 episodes with 1 hour for each episode
High budgeted drama project, labelled as S+, can be split to 2 seasons but the airing of the season 2 depends on the performance of season 1
Novels adaptation:
Will be cut down to 36 episodes (?)
Iqiyi:
All dramas will be cut down to maximum 36 episodes
So later we will see many new costumes dramas produced by Iqiyi and Youku especially that were adapted from novels will be just 30/32/36 episodes?
When I read news about some of new Chinese costume dramas that produced for Youku and Iqiyi will be filming or currently filming in 2025 have 40 episodes, I keep thinking about how the plot for those dramas will feel kinda mess up and bring confusion to audiences since 4 of their episodes will get cut out. That's annoyed me so much LOL
Youku and Iqiyi also rumored to cut its publicity investment for their dramas.
https://x.com/eaturmelon/status/1881652104722620848
I don't encounter any similar rumor for Tencent or MangoTv new policy like this but I'm not surprised if they will implement similar new policy like Youku and Iqiyi later.
But if I'm getting some wrong understanding about all of these, please feel free to correct me.
Still, I really hope that at least they will air this drama before Youku implemented their new policy! Please!
List of some Chinese dramas that still not airing yet that I know they are from original scripts, they are not adapted from any novels and are not remakes or spin off from any another dramas, movies or short stories.

His previous crime drama, The Knockout (2023) which was also written and directed by him was one of the Chinese dramas that get high score on Douban.
https://dramapanda.com/2023/01/the-knockout-and-three-body-score-high-on-douban.html
Based on the main genre of his previous dramas, I'm surprised he wrote about romance in Xianxia genre LOL
https://dramapanda.com/2024/02/xiao-yao-tan-songyun-neo-hou-story-humans-and-demons.html
Some of his previous dramas:
Rookie Agent Rouge (2016) (Zhao Li Ying & Lu Yi)
*military, historical, romance, war
https://kisskh.at/15340-rookie-agent-rouge
Glory Of Special Forces (2022) (Li Yi Tong & Yang Yang)
*action, military, youth, drama
https://kisskh.at/30867-special-forces
The Knockout (2023) (Zhang Yi & Zhang Song Wen)
*action, adventure, romance, drama
https://kisskh.at/700427-punch-out
But I'm quite worried after I read what Iqiyi did to another costume drama, The Demon's Hunter Romance (2025) with Song Zu Er & Ren Jia Lun.
https://kisskh.at/63991-wu-you-du
Iqiyi changed the ending of that drama from Happy Ending to Open Ending after consulting AI analysis! The screenwriter also said that the original script for the ending was HE but was rejected.
https://x.com/Allcbizmelons/status/1916121304115404910
I'm also hoping they wouldn't cut any episodes because of Iqiyi new policy since it rumored they lost some profit and want to cut episodes to maximum 36 episodes to avoid losses or something like that.
https://x.com/yueyawans/status/1916802595978387552
I also read similar rumor about Youku will cut down episodes for their dramas that will air in 2026(?) for their new policy:
https://x.com/eaturmelon/status/1878866217374773263
https://x.com/rosyholp/status/1895302771286646947
https://x.com/eaturmelon/status/1895435843290255479
Another Youku new policy:
First shoot a preview episode, and then shoot a 10-minute pilot preview short film. The plan is to select and train new directors, and the artists will be coordinated by Alibaba Entertainment Agency, but whether the project can pass the review is another matter.
In addition, if the preview episode is well shot, it is still unknown whether the main creators will have the opportunity to officially join the project.
https://x.com/ultra_melons/status/1914932869069521253
https://x.com/kpopsmileshop1/status/1915055792514039965
As per my understanding, the rumors for one of Iqiyi and Youku new policy for the episodes of their new dramas are like these:
Iqiyi:
All dramas will be cut down to maximum 36 episodes
So later we will see many new costumes dramas produced by Iqiyi and Youku especially that were adapted from novels will be just 30/32/36 episodes?
When I read news about some of new Chinese costume dramas that produced for Iqiyi and Youku will be filming or currently filming in 2025 have 40 episodes, I keep thinking about how the plot for those dramas will feel kinda mess up and bring confusion to audiences since 4 of their episodes will get cut out. That's annoyed me so much LOL
Iqiyi and Youku also rumored to cut its publicity investment for their dramas.
https://x.com/eaturmelon/status/1881652104722620848
I don't encounter any similar rumor for Tencent or MangoTv new policy like this but I'm not surprised if they will implement similar new policy like Iqiyi and Youku later.
But if I'm getting some wrong understanding about all of these, please feel free to correct me.
Melon master said:
Between mid Aug - mid Oct it’s tentatively scheduled that costume dramas will not be allowed to air. The Unclouded Soul will be in the second half of this year (July- Dec). Previously melon said the earliest is Oct.
https://x.com/tansongyun26/status/1915330619803939252
But there are no trailer released yet for this drama and it rumored to be air on October?! It's still so far awayyyyy! T_T

Please, I really hope that at least they will air this drama before Iqiyi implemented their new policy!
List of some Chinese dramas that still not airing yet that I know they are from original scripts, they are not adapted from any novels and are not remakes or spin off from any another dramas, movies or short stories.
1) Costumes:
*xianxia, xuanhuan: fantasy with elements like magic, demon, immortal, fairy
*historical: not historically accurate but no elements like magic, demon, immortal, fairy
Feud (Bai Lu & Zeng Shun Xi)
*Iqiyi
*xianxia
*32 episodes
https://kisskh.at/762931-heng-men-you-hu
The Unclouded Soul (Tan Song Yun & Hou Ming Hao)
*Iqiyi
*xianxia

Sweetest Rebellion (Xu Ruo Han & Zhou Ke Yu)

A Dream Within A Dream (Li Yi Tong & Liu Yu Ning)

https://kisskh.at/70247-jiang-dui-dui-chong-sheng-ji
2) Republican Era (1912 - 1949)
*Began in 1912 with the end of the Qing dynasty, when the Xinhai Revolution and the formation of the Republic of China (ROC) put an end to 2,000 years of imperial rule then ended in 1949 when the KMT-led government was defeated in the Chinese Civil War and lost control of the mainland to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
*Aka tragedy era since it's timeline was on World War II & Civil War so although not all, many dramas set in this era will get sad ending or open ending LOL
Burning Night (Wang Yu Wen & Tian Jia Rui)
*Youku
*30 episodes
https://kisskh.at/773139-ran-shuang-wei-zhou
If anyone know other Chinese dramas with original scripts that still not air yet, please share with me. It doesn't matter if they are costume, republican or modern genre. As long as there are romance between main couple even it is not the main genre LOL
(the hashtag says TPOB will air soon)
#LiuYuning: I really didn't say that. to those of you who just came in from the hashtag, I did not say that today. even last livestream, I said my dramas that will air soon are #ADreamWithinADream and my modern drama. I didn't say that!
https://x.com/fandoestrans/status/1911417651051589879
Because June is the beginning of summer in China, many Chinese entertainment platform like Youku, Tencent, Iqiyi will air their high budgeted dramas project on summer timeslot to gain more profit so could we assume that this drama will air on June 2025?
https://x.com/LiuYuningBrasil/status/1915742276866736477
I don't know Mandarin language so I use Google Translate but it seem they were filmed for 38 episodes for this drama

Main reason I'm excited to watch this drama is because other than the trailer for this drama look so fun, it is from original script, not adapted from any novel.

Zhou Yi Ran and Chen Du Ling have 7 years age difference since he was born in 2000 but as I mentioned before, I don't care about couple age gap in romance genre as long as they are adult casts in real life. But Zhou Yi Ran has strong baby face feature to play as a general main male lead in costume drama *sighhhhh*
https://x.com/FKShi/status/1913504674889732546
Sighhhhhhhhhh......
Why this director choose an actor with strong baby face feature to play as a general of the country in this costume drama when my beloved Chen Du Ling is the main female lead?!
There are many actors in China that has matured face that suitable to be a general. It's not like there no actors with mature face and willing to play as main male lead in female-centered costume drama T_T
One of my favourite couple in costume romance drama, The Double, played by Wang Xing Yue who was born in 2002 as main male lead and Wu Jin Yan who was born in 1990 as main female lead. I absolutely had no problem with that since Wang Xing Yue doesn't has too baby face feature and has charisma as an actor to play as an adult main male lead.
https://kisskh.at/736749-di-jia-qian-jin
https://youtu.be/JwGg2isI4ek?si=5wfYo2_FOtS9z8me
Reasons I feel Zhou Yi Ran not suitable as Chen Du Ling's main male lead in this drama:
1) Look at main male lead characters in this drama plot:
A small soldier of the imperial army to a general of the country.
2) Look at main actor & main actress appearances:
He has a quite baby faced to be a general of the country and Chen Du Ling's main male lead.
1) Zheng Ye Cheng (born in 1993, same age as Chen Du Ling):
https://kisskh.at/people/12780-zheng-ye-cheng
To me, even he is not popular, he is one of talented Chinese actor and so handsome especially in costume drama.

2) Wang Tian Chen (born in 1993, same age as Chen Du Ling)

I like his performance in The White Olive Tree even he just the supporting role there.
https://kisskh.at/714009-bai-se-gan-lan-shu
He played as Benjamin (the one who is not wearing eye glasses)

3) Liu Dong Qin (born in 1994)

His performances and bromance with Hou Ming Hao in drama Psych-Hunter is ok
https://kisskh.at/33539-haunted-house-handbook

and as I like supporting role in Only For Love. He also has matured face that suitable for general in costume drama.

4) Yan An (born in 1996):
https://kisskh.at/people/16790-yan-an
He has suitable appearance to play as matured main male lead and also already had experiences played with Chen Du Ling before in dramas "Fangs Of Fortune" and "Veil Of Shadows" (not air yet) with Guo Jing Min as the director in both dramas.
https://x.com/chenduling1018/status/1911324898485768699
5) Chen Xin Hai (born in 2001)
https://kisskh.at/people/83319-chen-xin-hai
He has quite matured feature to play as general in costume drama. I like his performance as main male lead in modern romance drama, Falling Before Fireworks with Lu Yang Yang (born in 1994)

6) Zhang Ke Le (born in 2001):
https://kisskh.at/people/56441-zhang-kang-le
Based on his appearance as in trailer for costume drama Rebirth with Li Yun Rui and Huangyang Tian Tian as main couple (not air yet), he could play as matured role in costume drama, even he is just play as villain supporting role.

They may not popular as actors right now, but at least they are much more suitable as actors to play general in this drama so please, I hope the director choose another actor as main male lead in this drama!
PLEASEEE!!!
Pleaseee T_T

Some info about Zhou Yi Ran:
Zhou Yi Ran (born in 2000)

become more known to audiences of Chinese dramas especially international audiences after played as main male lead in the modern youth drama, "When I Fly Towards You"
