If any of you are interested with Chinese dramas that set in the era of Republic Of China (1912 - 1949) like Maid’s Revenge, maybe I can suggest some dramas for you. I put them in the spoiler below.
Important Reminder: Dramas that I suggest on the first part are Republic Of China romance dramas that were adapted from Chinese romance novels that were published around year 2006 – 2011 so their main male lead characters are kind of outdated main male lead that before this were popular in older Korean dramas with typical “possessive and domineering” men while the main female lead are “stubborn, sheltered and demure” ladies.
They also have dramatic trope like at least one scene of slap kiss, aggressive main male lead, misunderstanding between main couples, evil second female lead and others elements that usually we see in typical soap opera, Latin telenovela, Thailand lakorn, makjang Korean drama and Bollywood film (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
Furthermore, in the real history of China, this era of Republic Of China was one of most turbulent times with all those warlords, civil wars, Sino-Japanese War 2 (China vs Japan) so sometimes heartbreak, sad ending are inevitable for main couple especially when the main male lead is a military officer.
When I’m watching Chinese Republican Era romance dramas, I always remember one of their famous saying: < Love in Republic Of China, nine out of ten are sorrow > so I won’t feel too disappointed with the ending T_T
If you can’t stand these types of characters and plots, couldn't separate between fictions in the dramas and real life then it better for you to stay far awayyy from these type of dramas and try to watch other types of Chinese dramas that are set in The Republic Of China instead, okay? ┬─┬ノ( º _ ºノ)

Since he is an actor, even if he kinda awkward in romcom genre, I hope at least he get new experience while working with different director and casts.

The Republic experienced many trials and tribulations after its founding which included being dominated by elements as disparate as warlord generals and foreign powers.
On October 1, 1949, Chinese Communist leader Mao Zedong declared the creation of the People's Republic of China (PRC).

Important Reminder:
Dramas that I suggest on the first part are Republic Of China romance dramas that were adapted from Chinese romance novels that were published around year 2006 – 2011 so their main male lead characters are kind of outdated main male lead that before this were popular in older Korean dramas with typical “possessive and domineering” men while the main female lead are “stubborn, sheltered and demure” ladies.
They also have dramatic trope like at least one scene of slap kiss, aggressive main male lead, misunderstanding between main couples, evil second female lead and others elements that usually we see in typical soap opera, Latin telenovela, Thailand lakorn, makjang Korean drama and Bollywood film

Furthermore, in the real history of China, this era of Republic Of China was one of most turbulent times with all those warlords, civil wars, Sino-Japanese War 2 (China vs Japan) so sometimes heartbreak, sad ending are inevitable for main couple especially when the main male lead is a military officer.
When I’m watching Chinese Republican Era romance dramas, I always remember one of their famous saying:
< Love in Republic Of China, nine out of ten are sorrow >
so I won’t feel too disappointed with the ending T_T
If you can’t stand these types of characters and plots, couldn't separate between fictions in the dramas and real life then it better for you to stay far awayyy from these type of dramas and try to watch other types of Chinese dramas that are set in The Republic Of China instead, okay?

How about the chemistry between actor Dai Gao Zheng and actress Zhang Xin Yi in this drama? Is it good?
I will watch this drama even if actor Dai Gao Zheng is the second male lead and actress Chen Fang Tong is not in here because I like Chinese romance drama in Republican Era. Their outfits in this era are so fashionable too.
He always like that before she confessed to him and I guess after they become intimate, that effect her too.
Unfortunately, somehow that give second male lead some energy to attack him LOL
When did he filmed that rom com drama? Before or after this short drama?
Since he is an actor, even if he kinda awkward in romcom genre, I hope at least he get new experience while working with different director and casts.
He won't grow if he doesn't try to get out of his comfort zone and just stick with same genre repeatedly.
Hope he will become a successful actor after this, get to work with a talented actress as his partner, get a drama with a good plot and a better written character.
Imagine if Fang Tian Yi is an alpha male main male lead in Thai lakorn, he will written as more pervert and ruthless towards the main female lead >_<
