I agree that "all the men in the drama are in love with the FL" aka reverse harem is really annoying. Just like how annoying "many women in love with ML" plot is in drama.
I prefer dramas that have multiple couples (main couple & side couples) or platonic relationship between main male lead & second/third female lead and main female lead & second/third male lead. They help main male lead/ main female lead but they are just friend with main male lead/main female lead and have their own love interest.
But how could you call ML fall in love with FL as "simp"? I wonder, did you ever watch drama by Hong Sisters before? All of their dramas have romance plot. So of course this drama will has romance between ML & FL too.
Some of my suggestion if you dislike romance in Asian dramas:
1) Watch dramas by screenwriter Kim Eun Hee. In one of article of her interview: "Recognized as “The Master of Genres,” Kim Eun Hee expressed her future desires, saying, “I want to do science fiction in the future, not romantic comedies.” She explained, “I don’t believe in love. I read the summary of the original novel before and it sound like the alternate version of Peng Xiao Ran past drama, Goodbye My Princess.
To put it simple: The main male lead is an emperor that drove the main female lead's best friend that is one of the Ye Bei's princess to commit suicide and also the fallen of the Ye Bei Kingdom.
Then main male lead fall in love with main female lead and although she kind of fallen for him too, she couldn't forget about her revenge.
The difference with Goodbye My Princess is in that drama she died, in this drama the main male lead is the one that will die LOL
But I don't know if they changed the plot of this drama huhu
