The novel was already completed in their original language with 118 chapters and 4 extras chapters.
But the English translation of both manga and novel are still incomplete though so I stop read them because I want to read the full translation.
This drama was a bit like Zhao Lu Si previous drama, The Romance Of Tiger And Rose because the main male lead, Ling Miao Miao was someone from the modern time that isekai into a novel that she read.
After Ling Miao Miao isekai into the novel, she become a side female character, Ling Yu.
Original plot of the novel that Ling Miao Miao read: Ling Yu was a side female character that crazy about original main male lead, Liu Fuyi and feel jealous with original main female lead, Mu Yao so she did some evil trick to Mu Yao.
Mu Yao has a brother name Mu Sheng and to protects his sister, Mu Sheng pretended to marry Ling Yu. Actually, he tortured her and brought her to a miserable end.
But since Ling Miao Miao had isekai into that novel, of course the plot will get deviated.

Me too. Actually I think Li Cheng Yin being so sly, cunning, calculative, ruthless is kind of the most realistic character of a future powerful emperor in ancient China.
I means some main male leads that have status as the crown princes in Chinese costume dramas are too consumed with their main female lead after falling in love until it seems they forgot about their responsibility as the future ruler of an empire haha
But, of course I still enjoy the crown prince main male lead being sweet towards their main female lead in those dramas though ^_^
