I actually Enjoyed this NGL except the last two eps where again THEY HAD TO break the couple for the KDRAMA EFFECT. I also think it would have been much better without inducing the chaebol and corporate Thingy....It kinda ruined the whole thing.
Also seeing many people calling ML ; Ji ho..... Seems like Go kyung PO did his job perfectly because that's what is character is....supposed to be like
I have said it before and I will say it again Be it Cdrama/ Kdrama / Jdrama or even international books ... Women's cheating has always been normalized and Romanticized and in some cases Glorified..
I get that this was Based on historical events but My point still stands... This drama tries so hard to celebrate hanako's freedom that it glosses over the cold reality that KANO was a good man who was deeply CHEATED, BETRAYED, Humiliated and broken-hearted, making the "romanticization" feel incredibly one-sided.
Did they spend 90% of Budget signing the Visual duo of ZLH and Wang Chu ran??? Because Respectfully, Dafuq is this??????????? Could some one edit and put Comedy tag in the genre because this is ridiculous

Having said that, how are you with more HEAVY Mature Theme? You just said "Something that will genuinely break my heart or make me think." and oh boy do I have one for you and its perhaps ONE OF THE DRAMA that has gone so under the RADAR, It's called
Light beyond the Reed (2025)
and that is my Fave Drama of 2025. It is a Masterpiece, Heavy but MASTERPIECE!

haven't read the novel but I will say this It's been a long long time since I have been absolutely mesmerized by a FL's performance because I am very very picky... Honestly Maybe it was recency bias but that was the besting Acting performance By a FL in a long long time.. It was a MASTERCLASS....

Here is my two cents as a MAN, First of all The mother got my blood boiling as well...when she refused to file report.
Then as she went on I began to realize she was looking from realistic side...Not everyone gets justice and happy ending in real life and this line from her HIT ME:
" Even if they catch him, he will serve a light sentence and get released but what about your future?"
and she is right In real world, the rich and mighty get lighter sentence or no sentence at all, while the victim is actually Slandered and when this News breaks out It will KILL!! The constant bullying in public spaces, The Cyber Bullying in this Day and Age and Having to Live with that....
I am not defending the mother but I can see her POV as well.... Justice is just a dream for most poor in real world.
