The first episode is amazing! It's been a while since a drama overcame my expectations !
The acting is amazing, the directing too. Just... The overall atmosphere remind me so much of N No Tame Ni, in a very good way.
Can't wait to see what happens next!

It's surprinsingly good?

I was excepting the cute over the top comedy, but this is surprinsingly touching, and I like they're not going all dramatic.

The only problem is that we have to buy the speed of the story (like they fall in love at the speed of light lol) but the actors are good so it's not that bothering.

Really nice cute romantic movie!

Oh, and the girls are very hapy with BoA, and Kang Daniel is very respectfull and have a lot of fun with the dances.…
When did I "underestimate" him? Maybe I didn't explain myself clear enough (+english is not first language).

The points I said in my comment :
1) He didn't prove himself on others TV shows or competitions.
2) he is young and he doesn't have lots of experience like BoA
3) he seems stressed & uncomfortable (well, it kinda goes hand in hand, and it's kind of normal, he's between his direct senior and dozens of strong women, who wouldn't)
4) They should have casted a non-idol

That's all I said. It's all facts. I never talked about his skills as a dancer.
Those 4 points are not important if it was just a competition. Because it is not, it is a TV show. Aimed at the general public.

In international sites like MDL, we cannot see it, because K-pop is one of the big reason we know Korea, but in Korea, the "general public" usually don't really know idols. Especially these days when there's hundreds of them, and I'm just talking about the mainstreams ones.
Even NCT which is from a big agency, if the person you talk to is not already an idol fan, they won't know what you're talking about. Maybe they have heard the name NCT, if they're young, but if you ask them about the members, they don't know. BUT, what is a good way to make yourself know from the "general public" is : TV SHOWS ! Like the ones Jisung, and Ten participated in. That's the reason why I talked about it. Because Taeyoung didn't really have an opportunity to get exposure outside of the Kpop sphere like his 2 teammates.

So that's the reason why I talked about TV shows & competitions. I was saying this thinking about the fact SWF is a TV show.

It's the same for the 1st point, too. He is young and not that experienced. If he had 15 years of experience behind him, I wouldn't say that. Like BoA. And because he's young, tit's even more difficult to be respected by people who don't know you.

Same for the 3rd point, from a TV show point of vue, the fact he's so uncomfortable is not a good look. When you're supposed to be in a position where you judge people.

Finally my 4th point isn't even against Taeyoung, I just think it's a bad move from the team that there's 2 idols on the judge pannel. It doesn't look good. And the show is getting backlask from it. Taeyoung is getting backlash from it. People just think SM must have invested a lot in it, and put him here. So as a NCTzen, I'm not happy.

So. I'm not "underestimating" him in my previous commets. I'm just spitting facts fom a TV show point of vue.

(little + that I shouldn't put in, but I'll do it anyway : Idol and dancers are totally different. Dancers are a hundred times better than idol, because they do that full time. Not like idols who need to sing, act, go on TV shows, etc... Their level are totally different.
Plus, the show is talking about street dancing, something Taeyoung don't have experience in, because he only began to dance after entering SM.
So talking about Taeyoung "skills" here is kinda weird, because next to those professionnal dancers, Taeyoung, BoA and the performance director are nothing)(and I really don't understand how the fact he's the visual is relevant here)(and isn't Mark the main rapper in NCT 127? maybe I don't remember correctly)

Oh, and the girls are very hapy with BoA, and Kang Daniel is very respectfull and have a lot of fun with the dances. Plus a performance director.

But.... Taeyoung... What are you doing here, my boy? T^T
I love you but this is such a bad move from SM.

He is a young idol, he doesn't have the experience like BoA or the director, and Daniel is NOT a judge.
Coulnd't they have found a choreographer, a world-class dancer, or something? Why a young idol? At least TEN or Jisung has proven their dancing skill in another dancing shows, but Taeyoung never did anything. (I'm not saying TEN or Jisung should have been chosen, absloutely not). WHY another idol?

He's getting hate because he's out of place. He's obviously super nervous and uncomfortable (though it gets better). And he's getting edited out T^T

Why did they do that to you Taeyoung? T^T

(I'm saying that AS a NCTzen, and I still love him, I just don't feel like he suits this program as he is now)

I think it's a really nice show, I'm just a little disapointed because EVERYBODY is talking abt it. Even comparing it to Street Dance of China so I was HYPED.

Except for a 2 or 3 battlers, I wasn't blown away. They're very loud, and their attitude is super fun, so I'm enjoying the battle, but a lot of them are just doing basic or very repetitive movements, trying to hide it behind a lot of attitude. It's not even freestyle battle, they're prepared.

Still I enjoyed SO MUCH. Not amazed by a lot of the dancing, but still SO fun. They must be all good dancers, just some not suited for battles, maybe? There's a lot of different type of stages to dance on, there's a lot of choreographers in the show, and street dance battle are not their specialities.

I think if I was expecting less I would have enjoyed it a lot more. So I think I will have fun a lot more in episode 2 now ^^

Maybe it's beause I had n expectations, but this is... good? Like really good.
All the characters seems interesting and believable.

I don't really think of it as queerbaiting though? I'm really waiting for the friendship here, and there's not enough dramas where the friendship of two characters (while not developing as a romance) is the center of the story.

YES ! The ending is SO SATISFYING ! I LOVE IT !The ending is amazingly childish from the production team, BUT…
It doesn't end with the usual "revenge is not the solution, have trust in the system because even if it's not perfect, there are good people (here, Kang Ha Na) in it" like the usual revenge k-drama.

It does say that "revenge is not the solution". That's clear and I agree.
They also say that "there is good people in the justice/police"... But at the end, still do a good middle finger saying that THIS IS NOT ENOUGH. Like they're mocking the justice & police (the ones who will feel concerned by this middle finger, not the ones like Kang HaNa who still have their concience).

So childish! But so good. I like this a hundred times better than those revenge drama that ends in "let's trust the system". I agree with "Let's not get revenge", but WHAT? "Let's trust the system"? Just because we see one good cop and one good lawyer/prosecutor/judge in a 16 episode drama???? Why does every revenge k-drama ends like that????

YES ! The ending is SO SATISFYING !
I LOVE IT !

The ending is amazingly childish from the production team, BUT I LOVE IT! Isn't that why we watched the drama? It was not realistic at all, the revenges would never be possible in real life, with over the top bad guys, and inhumanly good heros&heroines, but what is wrong with that?
Because what the drama wanted to show was the crimes, not the characters (why would they give almost no background for them? Because they didn't want our attention to be taken away from the cases).
Every cases in this story was heavely inspired by real crimes that happened in Korea. And those crimes NEVER got the Rainbow Taxi get revenge for the victims, because those crimes were real ones, and reality is shitty.
But this is a drama, not real life. And that's why it's so good, because it screams anger, and injustice. One that gave birth to a team of cartoony heroes, who seems to be taken straigh from the mind of a child.
That's why the story is so simple but so strong. Like a child wrote this script, and we should be ashamed that a kid could actually write something like that. They just had to listen to the news, and learn from those terrible things that happens everyday, and in their head, imagine a child-like superhero that could take care of it, and save everybody from the shitty system. Like the Rainbow taxi.
And as a viewer I felt like a child watching it, too. It's stupid, and nothing is realistic there, but I feel SO GOOD watching the bad guys getting the punishment they deserve. Then I'm reminded that those cases are inspired from real ones and I get a cold shower every single episode, because my joy stop as I again remeber that the real victims never got their Rainbow Taxi.

I watched a lot of (recent, like 2010+) asadora, and this one is HEAVY. Not a bad thing at all, I love it. The acting, the story, the characters... It is really amazing.
But if you think going into this asadora for the usual "light" story, then be a little prepared. Because they don't sugar coat the life of the actress at all. I though they would change some things that happened because, well, it's an asadora, not some yorudora, but no.

Of course, a lot of asadora have war periods, death of a family/friend, and sad thing that happens to them. But Chiyo seems to be one of the most unlucky heroine ever. Making her strong and awesome, but it's not the light watch I'm used to in an asadora.

I do not regret watching it, I love it to death, but I hope that Okaeri Mone will be a little more light. Because I can't watch this type of drama evryday for another year.

I love it, but please stop making me cry.

Edit : it's still an asadora, it's not THAT dark, but for this type of drama, than it's still pretty dark.
On Life's Punchline May 29, 2021
I found the first episode a little weird, like it didn't find it's tone, and didn't know what to think of it. But the second episode happened, and destroyed everything I expected of this drama, in a very good way.

At first, I just wanted to watch it for the acting of some of the cast, because I though it would be one of those realistic and important j-drama. The ones I can't watch because of how heavy they are, even when it's a good drama.

I was very surprised at the light hearted atmosphere. The story is pretty heavy on paper, a trio of poor comedian who, after 10 years of part time jobs, and empty audiences, decide to stop doing what they love, and abandon their dreams. They are poor, stopped school after high school, and their family stopped supporting them a long time ago.
I was waiting for a lot of angst, tears, fighting, and over the top situations. But nothing of that is shown in this drama. Because that trio are true friends. Not the ones we find too often in dramas, the ones who says "I was jealous of you since the begining", or "it's your fault if we don't sell", or "you don't deserve it", etc... They don't use over the top characters, story arc, or deus ex machina to make the story less heavy. They use love.

The love of the 3 friends, the love of the 2 sisters that came into their lives, the love of a lover, the love of the family who supported them, the love of the family who didn't support them, the love of a teacher, of a comrade, of a boss at a part time job...

Even in this heavy situation of giving up on a dream wich you dedicated 10 years of your life to, the drama is mainly about the love every single character have for the trio, and the love they give back.
There is no antagonist here, except the sadness of the situation, ad even if you don't agree with a character, he is not painted on a bad light.

This drama is truly a breath of fresh air, and I always find myself crying while smiling, because even in the sad moments, you can always feel the love the characters have for each other, and you end up smiling.

I think Nan is a lot of our Crush though in real life. That one person who is kind to you when nobody else is…
The author said that Nan's book won't be adapted. I hope they'll talk a little about his situation, because drama viewers only will be left hanging, if we don't know what is happening with one of the central characters of the show.

I mean, if his spin off was adapted, then I understand if you tell us nothing, to not spoil us... But they're not gonna adapt it, so I hope they'll give drama viewers some explanation (why is he disapearing from the show sometimes, what is the problem with his family, why was he so close to Mork if they're not dating...).
f they were not gonna tell us anything about Nan, then they didn't need to adapt his scenes where they talks about his family problems, or how Mork was super sweet to him at the begining, so mush that Pi though they were dating/Mork was in love.

I already know all about it because I read spoilers of Nan's book, but I hope they won't leave the drama viewers hanging (even if I read the spoilers, it's still frustrating).

I think her Mr. Miao is sabotaging her because clearly he wants Niao Niao to be the best new employee. He tries…

Really enjoyed the first 14 episodes, the main couples is amazing, the 2nd ML is also super sweet.
I like how the conflicts/misundertandings/miscommunications don't spread for episodes and episodes before getting solved!
Their relationship is so cute, and it's a really strange thing they're not dating already XD

The only things I find a little weird, first is the fact that she's way too good at her job for a newbie, and the only times she gets in trouble is because someone sabotage her at work.
Second is the sabotage she gets, why does her superior has so much free time to bully a new employee? He must be a little good at his job to have gotten to that position, but the only things we see from him is : step 1) does a mistake, step 2) make the FL takes responsability for it, or make her repair his mistake. It's so frustating, he's not an interesting antagonist, and is only here to be annoying, and to act like a 12 years old bullying and harrassing a girl 20 years younger than him.
Thirdly is the 2nd FL, she's so... uninteresting. The only thing she does is work, and use the money her company has to get things done. And getting depressed by her crush on 2nd ML. That's all we see from her. I was waiting for a strong woman, but everything she does is boring and I skip her scenes.

But it doesn't change the fact the drama is really fun, and doesn't drag things out, which is very rare in c-dramaland.
On Fish upon the Sky May 25, 2021
It would be better if Nan wasn't so perfect. In another situation, I would be frustrated about Pi, but here I'm just "I understand, man, he's difficult to fall out of love with, I have a crush on him, too"
On Fish upon the Sky Apr 21, 2021
The first episode was really funny, so I'll continue. But I'm kind of surprised by all the comments calling Pi cute, pitiful, nice, and all... ^^'

I mean, he's handsome and his scenes are funny, but from what I saw in episode 1, he's also a pretty annoying person? xD
Ignoring the fact he stalked Nan for one whole year, he has a terrible attitude against Mork just because he's his crush's friend. He decided on his own that Mork was in love with Nan, and began to see him as this evil person, and keep being mean to him.

The teacher asking Mork for the answer Pi didn't know isn't Mork's fault. And the picture incident is not his fault either. But even when Mork apologizes (when he's not at fault) Pi is sill being an asshole.

I know he will get better (hopefully), but after episode 1, I don't really know what I'm supposed to like about him.

I can forgive the fact he's creepy with Nan because he got bullied and is awkward socially, but he has no reason to act to Mork like this... ^^'

+ Nan is REALLY cute & sweet though, I understand Pi falling for him. xD
On Why I Dress Up for Love Apr 21, 2021
The first episode was way better than what I expected.

I like the fact that both the protagonist are extreme in their lifestyles. And that it's not the "heroine full of flaws getting better thanks to the perfect man". He's not perfect, she is not and that's working here!

There's a lot of characters in the first episode, but everybody has his own personnality, so I can remember everything without any problem.
Really nice atmosphere, and the visuals !!! I'm not talking ony abt the gorgeous actors, but the clothes, the house, the workplaces... Everything in this drama is SO pretty. Love it. ^^
