The anime and manga were not able to cover everything, just the budding romance between FL and the Emperor. Also, I think the merchant that DW is portraying is going to be revealed as the rival of the ML to the throne because that one instigated the rebellion.

Liu Hui will have a grand fight against a rival with thousands of soldiers towards the end of the novel. I think DW will be the one on the other side because his character is a combination of three characters combined into one so he is the main antagonist of this series. I hope they follow the grand fight in the novel because you seldom see an emperor on the frontlines, defending his nation.

I actually do not like how the novel ended so I just stick with the anime adaptation and pretend that they live happily ever after for a very long time. 🤧

Of course, their opinions won't change mind, I just don't like how they constantly attack my faves. It's a different perspective if you are a fan and you see bad posts instantly when you check for any updates about your favorite actor or actress online.
