Yes me too. I expected a rant on at least the styling because some commentators said that the styling ad all wasn't part of chinese culture? But she surprisingly liked it, even though she commented on the old fashioned plot. For someone who is a tough cookie, this came out.
One commentator kept saying that she has "personal attitude" towards certain actors. Like, she keeps criticising ZLS or Bai Lu's dramas. So I was worried for Didi in her case.
Thank god i was always a fan of Didi, and has faith in Didi's acting skills. I believe Miss the Dragon grossly underutilised his potential. You'd get what I say if you watched Meteor Garden, at least some clips of Ever Night 2, and The Rational Life. And like, if she wasn't confident on him in CLJ, that means she never watched The Rational Life yet. Well, thankfully he proved her wrong ;) and his acting skills got praised. Ig this is the only review of hers that I agree with. Can't wait for her final review though, because she'll definitely be beyond surprised seeing DFQC breaking down for the first time.

I studied Howard Gardner's Theory Of Multiple Intelligence 🤣 I'm also more of a visual and kinesthetic learner. I do have sensitivity to sounds, but Esther's voice isn't THAT annoying. In fact, I dont have a problem with her voice. Bc I've seen her interviews and the CLJ bts clips. So i'm used to it.
Also, we need to know that her voice is not in our control. So let's just get used to it.

I agree with you 100%. The second lead couple carried MTD. Even Dylan's interactions with the lord and the bird were more interesting. At least MTD had funny moments, or else i wouldve dropped it.
I prefer Dongfang Qingcang over Yuchi Longyan anytime. DFQC is a much more layered and complex character, which was completely missing in MTD. Sure theres this damsel in distress plot but at least he has ulterior motives, also he has to protect her, because he has to protect himself, and that XLH isn't so bland. The chemistry is much better too.
Its great that he redeemed himself through CLJ. I fell that the MTD makers grossly underutilized his acting potential, and just reduced him to being an eye candy, which the CLJ creaters didnt do. Dramas like MG, EN2, TRL and now CLJ truly bring out his acting potential. Unfortunately, MTD didnt have a good director (in fact, the director is a newbie).
On a side note, considering Dylan's offscreen personality, im pretty sure that he got bored playing Yuchi Longyan himself lol 😆 😂 🤣 sorry for the long comment.

Dylan deserved a much more layered character than what was offered in MTD. Considering that his offscreen personality is like the opposite of thar of his MTD character, this role must have bored him like hell lol 😆 Anyway, he did great in Meteor Garden and Ever Night 2 (ive only seen the clips of en2). He was very natural in The Rational Life. But here, i feel that this is his best, followed by TRL. Dongfang Qingcang is a much more layered character than Yuchi Longyan. So glad that he isnt stuck into this stereotypical cold and aloof guy with no purpose but to only save the FL. Plus dfqc and xlh bicker a lot, which makes them more interesting.

I totally agree with you that Dylan Wang acts very well. I first got to know him.by watching MG in 2020 in quarantine. I really liked his performance. It's a shame that he wasn't given a much more layered character in Miss The Dragon, which, I believe, grossly underutilized his acting potential, and that it did not have a good director to bring out the best in him. Which is why his performance in MTD isn't the best. But it was just one bad drama he did. He gave a string performance in MG and EN2, and was very natural in The Rational Life (i rec this drama). And here, in Cang Lan Jue, he's doing a good job acting as the innocent xlh initially, then the apethetic dfqc. His character is much more layered and interesting than that in MTD.
And as for Esther Yi's voice, idk why the audience have a personal problem with it? They are ranting about something they have no control over. And Esther's character is like that: cute, naive, bubbly, gullible, kind, but shes not as stupid as everyone thinks. And mocking someones voice is just plain rude. Really, this drama is more than just someones voice.
In a drama or a movie, characters are the way they are. The main thing is how the story is written.
