Unpopular opinion: Miss the Dragon shouldn't have been a lifetime drama, and it failed to show Dylan Wang's acting abilities.
Although I enjoyed MTD, it's still a drama that I wouldn't rewatch (it's the case with many dramas, but this is a special mention). The only lifetime I enjoyed the most was the third one, where the FL, Liu Ying, was reincarnated as a strong and capable general, Feng Chenyue. In this lifetime, Dylan and Bambi's chemistry stood out the most. If this wasn't a lifetime drama and only focussed on Yuchi Longyan and Feng Chenyue's arc, then it would have been a much, much better drama, as this character made the best impression on me. And I'm sure they would start off as a bickering couple, bc I'm more into Tom and Jerry couples.
About Dylan's acting, this is I think his weakest performance. He was expressionless most of the time, surely because the script needed it, as he was very expressive in his other works as an actor. I feel that the director cast him to look good. He gave strong performances in Meteor Garden and Ever Night 2. His acting was very natural in The Rational Life. This role in MTD is way below his capability as an actor.
Did it dissappoint. Well, it didn't for me. This is a very progressive show.
Yess! And I also love how they didn't show women as dumb/weak/immature, and that the ML, although much much younger, has a lot of maturity, way beyond his years. I hope dramas and movie, not just in China, but in a lot of other countries, make content like this!
Kinda sad at how the best friend’s pregnancy storyline is going. It’s hard to see someone getting pressured…
Replying late, but yes, it is hard to see Song Ziyan face all this. Her arc with Zou Cheng is also very interesting, as the issues they face are very relevant.
You need to watch The Rational Life, a great drama to watch and I loved his character in it (don't be too impatient,…
True! Deng Wei was very good in this role. I liked the bird the most in MTD, and Feng Chenyue, as she was more refreshing to watch after Liu Ying and Ayu.

Agree! At first, I didn't like him in white hair, then it later grew on me. I just wished MTD was better written, and that DD was not just reduced to being an eye-candy (though I enjoyed it, it was fairly entertaining). This is why I preferred TRL and DD's character in it. He was not just reduced to being a good-looking guy, but it actually shows his great acting skills, something his character in MTD failed to do.
the worst showcase of the famous trope of a dumb blunt girl that swoons over a icy cold guy that think being a…
At least he was better than the ML from KDrama Playful Kiss! Here, Chen Xiaoxi had some self-respect, and broke up with Jiang Chen. And At Least Jiang Chen had some character development! Unlike Playful Kiss, the ML had zero character development and only remained this mean guy, while the FL kept pursuing him (actually, stalking him) throughout the end, even thoigh he was treating her like s***.
is your opinion based on 2 first episodes after which you dropped the show?in case of HMH and YCY it's better…
Neo opens up more as the show progresses. Certainly, he didn't compromise to THAT extent as assumed by Liz. And keeping YCY's hardships in mind, there's no way that she's "immature"! She just has a childish persona, but a mature mind. Yes initially, he was reserved, but it's bc Chaoyue was a stranger to him. How he behaved w/ Chaoyue in the first few episodes vs how he interacted with her in the later eps is a big difference.
Totally agree! Both of them are very talented actors. Haven't watched their previous works yet, but I'm most interested…
Bloody Romance is getting more and more interesting.......
And the reason why I liked Yanlin and Yitong's story the most is because it's the most interesting, realistic and down-to-earth depiction of couples. And the two of them knew each other since highschool, so them falling in love makes sense. Neo and Chaoyue's story was also interesting, my second favourite. Memory-erasing is new to me, the first time watching something about that concept, though one user said that it's like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Never watched that movie, but the concept is similar. Jasper and Qin Lan's story is about time-travel, which is nothing really new. And their characters fall deeply in love, although they don't know each other that well. Their story would've been better if it had more episodes so that the romance could properly develop, or if they chose a simpler concept. Their story is more like "love at first sight" (according to Chinese Wikipedia). The only things I liked about their story was: 1) their dance (which is a stand-alone part) and 2) When they visit a cookie-shop (that episode was really funny). Otherwise meh.
why do i feel like apart from the amazing meteor garden cdrama, Dylan Wang can't make any other drama interesting…
You need to watch The Rational Life, a great drama to watch and I loved his character in it (don't be too impatient, the romance starts late but still it's an interesting drama, the best DD drama, followed by MG). And I'm very much looking forward to this drama (as well as ONSAU), just hoping that it's better that MTD😂 Dylan and Esther have chemistry. And he has a long way to go, still learning as he never went to an acting school. He's getting better and better with every drama.
First got to know Yitong un When We Write Love Story and I liked her and Yanlin's story the most. Currently watching Bloody Romance and it's a very interesting drama! Have to say she's brilliant. Looking forward to her other works.
